Cordless hot tub vacuum

Updated: 21 October 2026

A hot tub is not a swimming pool that shrank. A 278 cm pole is mostly in the way. A cordless hot tub vacuum in this comparison means the short bodies: PoolyPoly 1814 and 1822, which the seller says are not for big pools, and PoolyPoly 1818, with a 79.5 cm body. The long VIVOHOME poles can fit in a spa, but the same bullets ban salt water. Prices on the [cordless pool vacuum comparison](/hub/pool-care/cordless-pool-vacuum) are the 19 October 2026 snapshot, £59.99 for each PoolyPoly. The depth the sensor needs

PoolyPoly 1814 and 1822 switch on when a sensor is submerged. The bullet puts that minimum at about 30 cm, and the vacuum stops when you lift it. A seat that holds 15 cm is above that line. A longer pole does not rescue a sensor that never sees 30 cm of water. Do not copy another shop’s depth onto these two. A Lay-Z-Spa listing has used about 45–140 cm. Happy Hot Tubs, around £59.99, prints no minimum. Silence there does not erase 30 cm on the listing you are buying. If the water is shallower than 30 cm, the sensor pair is the wrong start. The 1818 does not print that sensor. The body is 79.5 cm, so shallow water can be cleaned without the handle, and you still submerge the outlet. A damp film on the acrylic will not do. Large-pool reach is on the cordless pool vacuum buying guide.

The pole the seller says is not for a big pool

On 1822 the extended length is about 165 cm and 168 cm. On 1814 it is about 165 cm. Both bullets say the vacuum is not suitable for big pools. A reviewer on the shared texts found the pole short and unscrewed the handle to add an extension. That extension is not in the listing, and it does not cancel the exclusion. The 1814 is 1.4 kg and the 1822 is 1.5 kg. A 90 minute highlight matches a bullet of about 1.5 hours. That is not 90 minutes in 20 cm of water. The 1818 is the other shape: a 79.5 cm body and a 66–141 cm handle, 3 kg, about 60 minutes, at the same £59.99. Choose 1818 when the 30 cm sensor is the problem and you want the separate review file. Choose 1814 or 1822 when the tub is deep enough for the sensor and you want the lighter pole.

What tub owners in the shared reviews reported

The UK texts for 1814 and 1822 are one file under two score lines, 4.2 from 128 and 4.2 from 129. People used it in hot tubs, it started when it was under, and the pole could feel short. Water in the chamber can fall back when you lift the head. Switch off, tip the opening, and empty into a bucket. How the head sits in the water is on how to use a cordless pool vacuum. The 1818 has its own texts, 4.2 from 303. The complaints are sharper: dirt falling back, a unit with no suction, a missing mesh, and a charger that did not work. Read those before you treat £59.99 as the safe spa buy. A hose jet on the same shelf needs a hose. It is not this cordless head.

Salt water and the long poles

Some VIVOHOME highlights name spas. Every VIVOHOME bullet also says the vacuum is not suitable for saltwater pools. A salt spa is outside that line, and 278 cm of reach does not change it. In a small freshwater tub you pay about £74.99 to £89.99 for pole you are not using. A VH1869 note says 300 mesh took spa grit. You should not buy that bag to beat a salt bullet. The PoolyPoly pages do not state a salt yes or no. That gap is not permission. Bromine or chlorine care is not the salt line. The 30 cm sensor and the 165 cm pole are the spa limits.

Common questions

Is a hot-tub vacuum the same as a pool vacuum?
In this set, no. The spa listings are the short PoolyPoly bodies, about 165 cm or a 79.5 cm body, and 1814 and 1822 say they are not for big pools. The pool listings are the VIVOHOME poles from 213 cm to 278 cm. A highlight that mentions a spa does not turn a salt-excluded 278 cm pole into a hot-tub tool. Match the water you have, not the shelf category.
What does not for big pools mean on 1814 and 1822?
It means the seller has told you the 165–168 cm reach is for a small pool, spa or plunge, not for a full swimming-pool floor. A reviewer who added an extension was working around that limit. The extension is not in the specification. If your pool is the large one, the VH1715’s 278 cm bullet is the length this comparison prints for that job.
Will it run in 20 cm of water?
PoolyPoly 1814 and 1822 are stated to start from about 30 cm, when the sensor is under, and to stop when lifted. Twenty centimetres is below that bullet. PoolyPoly 1818 does not print the 30 cm sensor. It still tells you to submerge the outlet, and the body is 79.5 cm. A damp surface is not submerged. Another brand’s depth band does not rewrite these listings.
Does the salt-water ban matter in a hot tub?
It matters when the tub is salt water. All five VIVOHOME listings print that they are not suitable for saltwater pools. A spa highlight does not delete the bullet. The PoolyPoly files do not print a salt answer, which you should not upgrade into a yes. Chlorine or bromine care is a separate question from that salt line.
Which of these has its own reviews?
PoolyPoly 1818. Its score line is 4.2 from 303, and the UK texts in that file are not the 1814 and 1822 texts. Those two share their reviews under 4.2 from 128 and 4.2 from 129. The VIVOHOME colours share within each model as well. If you want a spa vacuum whose comments are not a duplicate, 1818 is the file to read, faults included.
