Cordless pool vacuum buying guide

Updated: 21 October 2026

You are looking at rechargeable handhelds on amazon.co.uk. A cordless pool vacuum buying guide for this set starts with four checks: how far the pole reaches, which bag holds sand, whether the bullet allows salt water, and how many minutes the listing prints. Stars and milliamp-hour figures come after those four. The [cordless pool vacuum comparison](/hub/pool-care/cordless-pool-vacuum) holds the eight listings, from about £59.99 to £89.99 on 19 October 2026. We did not run a lab test. How far the pole has to reach

Reach is the first limit, because a motor cannot clean a patch the head never meets. The VH1351 states 90–213 cm. The VH1715, yellow and blue, states 90–278 cm. The VH1869 states a pole to 250 cm. A bullet that also names in-ground pools does not mean every length will do every pool. PoolyPoly 1814 states about 165 cm and is not for big pools. The 1822 states about 165–168 cm, with the same limit. The 1818 is a 79.5 cm body plus a 66–141 cm handle. Standing on the deck, 141 cm or 168 cm fails first if the head must reach the middle. The extra 65 cm on the VH1715 is reach, not a different pump. Spas are on the cordless hot tub vacuum page.

Which mesh holds sand

Once the head can reach the dirt, the bag decides whether it stays. 180 mesh is the coarse bag for leaves, twigs, insects and stones. A shared review on the VIVOHOME poles says 180 mesh lets sand through. The VH1351 and the VH1715 include three 180-mesh bags and one 300-mesh bag. Fit the finer bag for sand, and expect it to fill sooner. The VH1869 adds 500 mesh and an algae-mode line, which is not a measured result. The PoolyPoly pages do not print a mesh number. One 1818 review says fine dirt falls straight back into the pool.

Salt water and the minutes on the bullet

Every VIVOHOME bullet says the vacuum is not suitable for saltwater pools. A spa highlight is not permission. The three PoolyPoly listings do not state salt water. Absence is not a yes. None of the eight prints IPX8. Runtime is the minute line, not the milliamp-hour attribute. Both VH1715 colours say up to 60 minutes. Yellow prints 20000 mAh and blue prints 2000 mAh, so quote 60 minutes. The VH1869 says up to 75 minutes and prints 25000 mAh, which is not a verified capacity. The 1814 and 1822 highlights say 90 minutes. A 30 cm sensor is a start rule, not extra runtime. If the outlet is in air, suction fails, which is the how to use a cordless pool vacuum page. UK mains are 230 V and a domestic plug should be BS 1363. The Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 cover the charger, in the 50 to 1,000 V AC range, not the head in the water. Charge indoors. Dry the port where the listing says so, on the VH1351 and the blue VH1715. A travel adaptor is not a repair for a plug that is not a UK 3-pin.

Stars that are not a separate sample

Several URLs share the same UK review texts, so the star line comes after the four checks. Yellow and blue VH1715 both show 4.3 from 893. The VH1351 shows 4.4 from 894, the spec block prints ASIN B0DPLX9W42, and the opening names match the VH1715 files. Do not add those counts. The VH1869 colours share 4.3 from 102. The 1814 and 1822 share texts at 4.2 from 128 and 129. The 1818 is the separate file: 4.2 from 303. If the live price has moved, the pole, the mesh and the salt line on that URL are still the checks. The fork with a machine that drives the floor is the cordless pool vacuum vs a robotic cleaner page.

Common questions

How long a pole do you need for an above-ground pool?
You need a pole that plants the head on the dirt while you stand where you can see it. In this set that is 90–213 cm on the VH1351, 90–278 cm on the VH1715, or up to 250 cm on the VH1869. A 165 cm or 141 cm body is the length the seller already limits, on the 1814 and 1822, with the words not for big pools. If the head stops short in a dry run along the deck, a finer bag will not add reach.
Is 180 mesh enough for sand?
On these VIVOHOME poles, 180 mesh is the coarse bag, and a shared review says it lets sand through. The 300-mesh bag in the same box is the finer one to fit for sand and fine grit. It will clog sooner. The VH1869 also lists 500 mesh. The PoolyPoly pages do not print a mesh number, so a sand job on those listings rests on the review notes, including dirt falling back on the 1818.
Can any of these eight go in a saltwater pool?
The five VIVOHOME bullets say they are not suitable for saltwater pools. A spa line in the highlight does not cancel that. The 1814, 1822 and 1818 do not state salt water. That silence is not an allowance. None of the eight prints IPX8, and a salt claim on a different listing is not a result for this set.
Should you trust 20000 mAh or the 60 minute bullet?
Trust the minute bullet. Both VH1715 colours say up to 60 minutes, while the yellow page prints 20000 mAh and the blue page prints 2000 mAh. The VH1869 says up to 75 minutes and prints 25000 mAh. Those large pack figures are not a verified battery and not an all-day runtime. Reviews in the files discuss how long a clean took, not the milliamp attribute.
What should the charger plug look like in the UK?
A UK domestic plug is BS 1363, on 230 V mains. The safety regulations that cover 50 to 1,000 V AC apply to the charger, not to the low-voltage head in the pool. Charge indoors. Dry the port first where that sentence is on the listing, which in this set is the VH1351 and the blue VH1715. A travel adaptor is not a fix for the wrong plug.
