Best slug and snail killer in this set

Updated: 23 October 2026

You want one product, and a 4.9 or a 5.0 is doing the persuading. In this basket those lines sit on seven reviews, one review, or two reviews with no text. The listing with the evidence is a 4.4 from 6,699. This page names a best slug and snail killer only for the job it does, and who should skip it. It does not crown one winner for every garden. Best-evidenced bait in this set

Provanto, 800 g, is £7.32 with 4.4 from 6,699 amazon.co.uk reviews. It is the top pick here because of that sample, not because Which? tested this ASIN. Which? names Growing Success Advanced Slug Killer. The amazon table does not print an active or a MAPP number. A Dobbies page states ferric phosphate at 3.8 g per square metre. That dose is Dobbies, not the amazon table. Skip it if you will not use a pesticide, if a dog has the bed, or if you need the active on the amazon specification. The RHS still advises against pellets, including organic ones. Rules are on the slug control buying guide.

Best-documented barrier for a small plant

HanYun is £12.99, and the title and the technical line both say 21 cm by 12 cm. The line is 4.9 from 7, including one buyer who had not used them yet. That is a size check, not a season. KAHEIGN is also £12.99, 4.4 from 32. The title says 20 cm by 12 cm, the bullets say 26 cm, and the technical line says 15 x 10 x 20 cm. Skip Ghligna and BOBILIFE if you need a review. Neither has a star line. A 21 cm ring is for a seedling, not a mature hosta.

Tape and mesh, with the split record

kanta is £3.99, 20 mm, 4.1 from 221. It is the best value on price and sample, not a best killer. Length is unstated. One reviewer thought about 2 metres. The first 50 reviews report peel and also plants left alone. Tiger Tape’s 4.0 from 39 describes decking joist tape. Ignore those stars for slugs. FACIACC is mesh at £7.49, 3.9 from 28, with lupins left alone on night one and slugs over the mesh in another review. Dooaqiin has no reviews and a printed weight of 10 g.

What not to call a top pick

A 5.0 is not the best buy when the file cannot carry it. Mdlooin felt is £4.99, 5.0 from 1, and the technical line says 1 cm against a 15 cm bullet. Titifeya is three beer traps at £8.99, 5.0 from 2, with no review text, and beer is not included. Ghligna is cheaper per collar and still has no reviews, so the unit price is not a result. If you refuse pellets, take a collar whose size you can read, or kanta with the peel reports accepted. Do not take the roundest stars.

Common questions

Which listing has the largest UK review count in this set?
Provanto, 800 g, at 4.4 from 6,699 amazon.co.uk reviews in the 19 October 2026 file. kanta tape is next, at 221. Collar packs sit at 32, 7, 1, or no star line. A larger count is better evidence for that product. It does not make pellets the right tool for one seedling.
Is the highest star rating the best buy when it is seven reviews or one review?
No. HanYun is 4.9 from 7. The felt discs are 5.0 from 1. The traps are 5.0 from 2 with no text. Those lines can be read. They cannot outrank 4.4 from 6,699, and they are not the same job. The top pick was withheld from every thin sample.
Which collar pack has no reviews at all?
Ghligna, 20 collars at £15.99, and BOBILIFE, 20 rings at £24.88, have no star line and no review text. Dooaqiin mesh has none either. An empty file means you are buying the printed size. It does not mean the product failed. It means there is no UK report yet.
Why should the Tiger Tape stars be ignored for slugs?
The title says 20 mm by 10 m copper barrier tape at £5.99. The review bodies describe waterproof decking joist tape, often 63 mm by 20 m. One short review says it did not work and does not name the product. A 4.0 from 39 does not measure slug control. Check the live photographs before you trust the title.
What should you buy if you refuse pellets?
A lipped collar for a plant that still fits, or a rim band if you accept mixed tape reviews. HanYun is the collar whose 21 cm by 12 cm size agrees. kanta is the tape with 221 reviews and a split record. Neither is guaranteed by the RHS lettuce trial. Nematodes are the other non-bait path, and they are not in this basket.
Is the £3.99 tape the best value if the roll may be short?
It is the best value on price and review count, and the length is the condition. kanta prints no metres. One reviewer thought about 2 metres, enough for about one pot. If you need 10 m, Tiger Tape’s title says 10 m and the reviews do not support that title. A short roll can still be the right spend for one pot. It is a poor spend for a long bed.
Who should skip the £24.88 rings?
Anyone who wants a review, a printed height, or a lower price for 20 collars. BOBILIFE states 23 cm at the top and 12 cm at the base, and no height. Ghligna is £15.99 with an 11.5 cm height and also no reviews. A seedling that needs 21 cm is already HanYun at £12.99. Leave BOBILIFE until a UK buyer describes a fit.
