Mosquito net buying guide

Updated: 23 October 2026

A mosquito net buying guide splits that pile before it talks about stars, so you know whether you are covering a mattress, a window frame or a door leaf. The [mosquito net comparison](/hub/pest-control/mosquito-net) holds the twelve amazon.co.uk listings, from BATSEREN at £7.19 to NeatiEase at £26.99. None states an insecticide. Peter F., editor for DIY & tools at productscompared.co.uk, used the listings saved on 21 October 2026. We did not run a lab test. Five products share the name

The twelve rows are five products. A hanging canopy is a ring and a hem you tuck. A pop-up does not need a ceiling. MOEGFY at £11.04 is three cut-to-size window sheets. MiLeJu at £22.93 and NeatiEase at £26.99 are framed screens you trim. SMALUCK at £13.99 is a walk-through door curtain fixed at 80 × 200 cm. A dome does not cover a casement. If you already know the opening, the best mosquito net page attaches a pick to a job.

Measure the opening, not the title

A hanging canopy is sold by drop and hem, not by the word double. FGen’s bullets say a bottom of about 11 m, while the title says 12 m. Twinkle Star B0GQLQXV82 prints a 2.5 m drop and a 12 m bottom. B0GQLVM9K5 prints 2.2 m. Cognitivex prints 230 × 800 × 60 cm. BATSEREN’s bullets say 250 × 1100 × 60 cm, and the widget says 10 × 10 cm. Do not average those figures. Guanici’s pop-up prints 200 × 80 × 56 cm, and 56 cm is pitched height, not sitting height. Window kits sit on the mosquito net for windows page.

Treatment and mesh

Every listing in this set leaves insecticide blank or, in one Twinkle Star UK review, is described as untreated. Guanici’s bullets say chemical-free. A pharmacy permethrin bell, with a printed hole count and a treatment life, is not one of these twelve ASINs. A canopy does not replace tablets. Fever during or after a trip to a malaria area needs urgent medical care, not a tighter hem.

What the box must contain

Twinkle Star B0GQLQXV82 lists a bag, a screw hook, three adhesive hooks and nine pads. B0GQLVM9K5 lists a rope and a bag, and it assumes a hook already exists. Both share ACO-twk-002, and an included-components field that says Rod. The £5 between them is the hook kit and the extra drop. BATSEREN says hardware is not included. The hoop-versus-hook choice sits on pop-up or hanging mosquito net.

Common questions

What kind of mosquito net do I need?
Name the opening first. A bed wants a hanging canopy or a pop-up. A window wants a tape-on sheet or a framed magnetic screen. A door wants a walk-through curtain, and in this set that is the SMALUCK panel at 80 × 200 cm. The twelve listings on the main comparison are those five types, priced from £7.19 to £26.99.
How do I know if it fits a double bed?
Ignore the word double and read the hem. The longer canopies here state about 11 to 12 m at the bottom, with a drop of 2.2 m or 2.5 m. Cognitivex states about 8 m, and UK reviews disagree on coverage. You still have to walk the cloth around the mattress and tuck the spare underneath.
Do I need an insecticide-treated net in the UK?
For ordinary UK bites, these untreated barriers are the product on this shelf. Native mosquitoes are usually a nuisance rather than a malaria risk. For a trip to a malaria-endemic area, NHS and GOV.UK still want a treated net, plus repellent and any prescribed tablets. None of these twelve pages states a treatment. A chemical-free line, as on Guanici, means the opposite of a permethrin bell from a pharmacy.
What mesh size stops midges?
The British Pest Control Association’s buyer-facing figures are about 1.2 mm for mosquitoes and about 0.6 mm for midges. TravelHealthPro’s bed-net ceiling is holes no larger than 1.5 mm. None of the saved listings prints a hole size, so you cannot call one of them midge-proof from the page. Seller lines such as fine mesh or 50D honeycomb are not a millimetre measurement.
Can I use a window kit on a door?
Not as a stand-in for a door curtain. MOEGFY, MiLeJu and NeatiEase are cut or framed for a window, and they are not a walk-through. SMALUCK is the door row, and it is fixed at 80 × 200 cm. One UK reviewer could not trim it. If the leaf is a different size, go back to the main table rather than stretching window mesh across a doorway.
Which listing has no reviews?
BATSEREN at £7.19 and Normodic at £23.99 have no Customer Reviews line on the saved pages. BATSEREN also contradicts itself, with canopy bullets against a 10 × 10 cm widget and a 10 g weight. Normodic at least prints 190 × 90 × 90 cm. A blank review line is not a hidden five-star rating.
What should I not trust on the product page?
Do not trust a widget that fights the bullets, a shared model code used on two different Twinkle Star parcels, or a star count when almost none of the saved texts are marked United Kingdom. Do not treat flame-retardant wording on MiLeJu or NeatiEase as a British Standard. Do not treat “not water resistant” on the £24.99 Twinkle Star as a camping shelter.
