Uvex safety shoes size chart

Updated: 16 October 2026

You are about to type a UK or EU size into an amazon.co.uk order, and your trainer size is the figure in your head. A Uvex safety shoes size chart is a length in millimetres plus a width digit, and the two are separate. Order the longer foot, in work socks, at the end of the day. The class does not change your foot length. The [Uvex safety shoes comparison](/hub/occupational-safety/uvex-safety-shoes) holds the eight cards. Products Compared prepared this on 16 October 2026 from Uvex’s sizing pages and the review notes on these cards. There was no fit lab. Measure before you trust a trainer size

Measure both feet at the end of the day, in work socks, and use the longer foot. Uvex asks for at least 10 mm from the longest toe to the end of the insole. A morning trace in thin socks is how a boot that felt fine at the table presses the toes later on concrete. On Uvex’s mondopoint chart, EU 43 is UK 9 and 277 mm. Use the live chart for the other cells. One public circumference cell looked corrupt, so this page does not reprint that grid. Between sizes, Uvex’s line is that slightly big is kinder than too tight, once the heel is held. Class and family sit in the Uvex safety shoes buying guide.

Width 10, 11, 12, and 14

Width 11 is the standard width Uvex keeps in stock. Widths 10 and 14 are on request, and 12 appears on some styles. The multiple-fit insoles label 10 narrow, 11 standard, 12 wide, and 14 extra wide, certified for Uvex 1 and Uvex 2 under EN ISO 20345:2011. Only the perforated Uvex 1 prints a width on the amazon title: W11. Model 68792 is width 11 on the Uvex UK quatro page, not on the amazon title, so check the size menu you actually open. Buying a longer size to gain width leaves a long toe and a loose heel. If 11 is tight, ask for 12, or for 14 on request. If 11 is baggy, 10 is the narrower option where that style exists.

Women's last and the larger foot

Uvex’s FAQ puts sizes 35 to 40 on a women’s last and 41 to 52 on a men’s last. A size 39 is that smaller last even if the department line says unisex. A size 42 is the larger last. The perforated S1 prints Women’s in the details and still ranks under men’s work footwear, so the department word is not the last. Fit the longer foot, then fasten the shoe before you judge it. A loose lace lets the foot slide into the cap and imitate a short size.

What break-in is allowed to feel like

A few painful days, then a long shift, is what some grey x-tended reviews describe. Skin rubbed off the heel on day one is a stop, not a wearing-in plan. On the S2 boot, one reviewer says big-toe pressure faded after walking, and another says a narrow heel ached on long hours. That narrow heel is a width problem. Walking will not widen it. If the cap presses the toes once you are standing in a fastened shoe, stop. The 10 mm gap is there so you do not grow into the cap. If width was never printed on the model that hurts, use the W11 card, or confirm width 11 for model 68792 on the Uvex page.

Length first, then width

Take the longer foot at the end of the day, leave about 10 mm in front of the longest toe, and change the width digit if the sides are wrong. Stop if the cap presses in a fastened shoe, or if the heel takes skin off on day one.

Common questions

Is Uvex EU 43 a UK 9?
Uvex’s mondopoint chart lists EU 43 as UK 9 and 277 mm. One S2 reviewer calls EU 43 a true UK 9, which matches it. A Uvex 2 wearer moved from UK 8 to UK 7, and a perforated S1 felt large at EU 45. Measure the longer foot at the end of the day, and use the live chart for the other sizes.
What is width 11?
Width 11 is Uvex’s standard stock width. The insole page labels 10 narrow, 11 standard, 12 wide, and 14 extra wide, for Uvex 1 and Uvex 2 under EN ISO 20345:2011. Only the perforated S1 title in this set prints W11.
Should I size up for wide feet?
Keep the length that leaves about 10 mm ahead of the longest toe, and change the width if the sides are tight. Uvex says a longer size is the wrong way to buy width. An EU 46 bought because EU 45 felt narrow leaves a loose heel. Width 12, or 14 on request, is the wide option where the style offers it.
What does a painful first day mean?
Skin off the heel on day one is a stop, not a wearing-in plan. So is a cap that still presses when you stand in a fastened shoe. A narrow heel that aches is a width problem. Check the 10 mm gap and return the pair if the cap is doing the pressing.
Can I put any gel insole in an ESD shoe?
Uvex certifies the multiple-fit insole for Uvex 1 and Uvex 2, widths 10 to 14, under EN ISO 20345:2011. A shop gel is not that product. This page will not claim the gel keeps or breaks an ESD mark. If the shoe is marked ESD, ask the person who specified it before you change the insole. Thin supplied insoles are already a complaint on the perforated S1.
