Haix Black Eagle vs Connexis

Updated: 16 October 2026

You already need safety footwear, and the argument is Haix Black Eagle vs Connexis: a high leather boot, or a low shoe aimed indoors. They share a brand and very little else. The [Haix safety shoes comparison](/hub/occupational-safety/haix-safety-shoes) holds the seven amazon.co.uk prices, including about £183.09 for the Black Eagle Safety 50 High and about £202.17 for the Connexis card. This page says which family matches which day. The Products Compared editorial team read Haix's UK pages and the Amazon cards that use those names, and updated this page on 16 October 2026. We did not wear-test either boot. A qualifying amazon.co.uk purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

What each family is for

Connexis Safety T, article 630004, is the shoe Haix aims at indoor production and warehouse work. On the shop it is EN ISO 20345:2011 S1P, with velcro, a nano-carbon cap, about 605 g, and an 8 cm height. S1P is a safety toe plus a puncture sole, for a dry floor when the assessment accepts that class. The Black Eagle Safety 50 high is the leather boot at the other end. The shop lists a 20 cm shaft, Gore-Tex, a composite cap, about 820 g a shoe, at £169.90, with a specification of S7S. Read S7S on the tongue rather than stopping at a heading. The buying guide puts the hazard first. The 61 low is still a Black Eagle, and it is the summer shoe Haix says is not waterproof. It replaces neither Connexis nor the 50 high.

Water, toe, and weight

The Connexis shop page says water resistant on an S1P shoe. Haix's class FAQ puts whole-shoe waterproofing on S7, and S7S as the non-metal puncture version. Water-resistant wording on S1P is not that step. Keep Connexis for dry indoor floors. A wet loading bay is a different class, which S3 or S7 safety boots explains. Gore-Tex is on the 50 high shop page, and it is absent from the Amazon title. A membrane is not a class by itself. The specification is S7S, and a heading on that page still says S3. Follow the specification, then the tongue. About 605 g is the low shoe and about 820 g a shoe is the high boot. Neither Amazon title states a toe material.

What the amazon cards do with those names

The Amazon prices sit the opposite way to the shop. Connexis is about £202.17 with 4.4 from 284 reviews. The shop's regular price for 630004 was £154.90, and the article is no longer produced. The title does not say S1P. The one UK review says the velcro would not close. The 50 High is about £183.09 with 4.6 from 211 reviews, against £169.90 on the shop. The title names a high black Black Eagle and still omits S7S and Gore-Tex. It is the top pick in this set when you want that high boot and the class is on the tongue. Check length on the size chart before you copy a size across lasts.

When to pick which

Choose Connexis when the work is indoor and dry, the assessment accepts S1P, and you have seen S1P on the tongue. At about £202.17 this card is a poor match to a discontinued shop article at £154.90. Choose the 50 High when you need a high leather boot for weather or rough ground, and you will confirm S7S on the boot before the first wet shift. Choose the 61 Low only as a breathable summer Black Eagle. It takes neither the Connexis job nor the 50 High job.

Common questions

Can I wear Connexis on a building site?
Only when the assessment accepts an indoor-style S1P shoe and the hazards match. Haix aims article 630004 at indoor production and warehouse use, and says it is not suitable for every trade. A nail-strewn or wet site points toward the high Black Eagle, and even then you read S7S on the tongue rather than on the Amazon title. The Connexis title in this set does not say S1P. Misuse is outside the complaint route the shop describes.
What does water resistant mean on an S1P Connexis?
On the Connexis shop page it is wording on an S1P shoe. Haix's FAQ puts waterproofness of the whole shoe on S7, and on S7S for the non-metal puncture version. The S1P page does not become that class because it says water resistant. Older boots sometimes added WR to S3, and Connexis is not that mark either. Keep it for dry indoor floors. For a wet site, use a boot whose specification and tongue say S7 or S7S.
Why is Connexis dearer on Amazon than on the Haix shop?
This Amazon card is about £202.17. The shop listed article 630004 at a regular £154.90 and marked it no longer produced. The title says wedges and Connexis, and it does not repeat S1P. The address ASIN is B07RR7124S and the details block is B0CBHRPJVS. You may be looking at a leftover listing above the old shop figure. Match the photo and the article before you treat £202.17 as today's Haix shelf price.
Is the 61 Low a Connexis substitute?
The 61 Low is a Black Eagle. The Amazon title says breathable and for summertime, at about £143.29, with 3.8 from 27 reviews and four German-marked texts. The shop's 61.1 low, article 610005, is £134.90 and is described as not waterproof. Connexis is a separate indoor S1P family, with velcro and a nano-carbon cap on the shop page. Use the 61 Low for that warm, dry Black Eagle. Use Connexis after you have confirmed S1P and accepted the indoor limit.
Which one has Gore-Tex on the maker's page?
The 50 high shop page includes Gore-Tex. The Connexis Safety T page we used does not put Gore-Tex in that role. It stays an S1P indoor shoe with water-resistant wording. The Amazon title for the 50 High does not print Gore-Tex, so you confirm the membrane on the boot, not on B00ZS09KDU. Gore-Tex also does not replace the S7S specification. If the tongue omits the class, the membrane line cannot fill it in.
