Voltcraft is Conrad's own test brand. In the UK, Rapid Electronics puts the name on a product page with a model code. The VC232 is £45.72 excluding VAT: a 2000-count True RMS meter, CAT III 600 V, 10 A, origin China. The VC191 is £55.57 excluding VAT: 6000 counts, True RMS, the same category, the same 10 A, and the same origin line. Those figures are distributor prices before VAT, not the shelf prices on the twelve Amazon files. If the page does not name VC232 or VC191, you are not looking at those Rapid handhelds.

What this amazon.co.uk set actually is

Read the Brand line before the star rating. The top pick is the VENLAB VM-600A at £29.99, with True RMS in the title and CAT III 600 V in a bullet. The best value is the Crenova MS8233D at £22.99, with CAT III 600 V printed and True RMS not printed. None of those names is Voltcraft. Leave this table if you wanted a VC191 or a VC232. A separate amazon.co.uk listing, ASIN B003A5Y4Q8, shows a Voltcraft VC-86 at £147.99 with zero reviews. That listing is not in this set. Rapid lists a VC-86 at £24.51 excluding VAT. This comparison does not quote £147.99 as the UK street price. A shop price with VAT would sit above £24.51 and would still not be £147.99 on the evidence we have. If you are not buying a Voltcraft, buy the printed job. CAT III 600 V is printed for the VM-600A, the VM-600M, and the MS8233D. Do I need True RMS for a 12 V battery?
No. A resting 12 V battery is a DC voltage, and True RMS is an AC method for waves that are not a clean sine. The reading tells you state of charge, not whether the battery can crank the engine. You still need the red lead in the volts jack, not the amp jack. A hybrid pack is a different job, and it belongs with someone who works on that system.
Are Rapid's Voltcraft handhelds made in Germany?
The Rapid pages for the VC232 and the VC191 state origin China. Do not describe those handhelds as German-made on the evidence in this comparison. Voltcraft is Conrad's brand, and Rapid is the UK distributor. The origin line on the page is the one to read, not a guess from the brand's history.
