Best Bosch laser measure

Updated: 22 October 2026

You want one Bosch distance meter for the job you actually do, and a clear reason to leave the other eight on the shelf. The best Bosch laser measure here is the one whose range and sealing match the job, not the highest star line and not the dearest camera. We did not award a lab test. How to choose the range is on the [buying guide](/hub/measuring-equipment/bosch-laser-rangefinder/sub/bosch-laser-rangefinder-buying-guide). Prices and the listing conflicts sit on the [Bosch laser rangefinder comparison](/hub/measuring-equipment/bosch-laser-rangefinder). Best for a flat

For a flat where you only need a straight length inside about 20 m, the EasyDistance 20 is the one to buy. Accuracy on the listing is written as ±3 mm/m. Bosch DIY writes ±3.0 mm, which is a different unit, so do not merge them. There is no pouch. A UK review found the red dot hard to see beyond about 12 m in daylight while 20 m was fine in a darker room. That is the best value in this set when the room is the whole job.

Best for indoor trade

If you measure rooms every week and you want the range and the accuracy written on the amazon.co.uk page, the GLM 40 is the pick. More than one UK review says the pouch was missing, so check the parcel. The GLM 40-31 is the indoor-trade alternative when IP65, a 1.5 m drop and a colour display matter more than a clean range line. On the main comparison that score makes it the top pick. The box is two AA cells, even though the battery field says Lithium-Ion.

Best when the spot or the dust is the problem

A dusty bag wants IP65 and a stated 1.5 m drop, which in this set means a 50 m GLM rather than the GLM 40. The GLM 50-27 CG shares 4.7 from 12,691 with the GLM 50-27 C. Count that pool once. When the spot disappears outdoors, the GLM 150-27 C is the tool that adds a camera. How that camera behaves in sun is the outdoor page.

What best does not mean

There is no laboratory winner in this folder. Stars record satisfaction on amazon.co.uk. They do not calibrate the beam. Unused range is a common mistake: a 150 m tool does not make a 4 m kitchen truer. Class 2 is not a phrase you can upgrade to eye-safe. If you need a boundary or a structural opening, call a surveyor. Taking the shot, once you own the meter, is the how to measure page.

Common questions

What is the best Bosch laser measure for a flat?
The EasyDistance 20, if you only need a distance up to 20 m. It is £43.99 with 4.6 from 654 reviews, one button and two AAA cells, and no case. Keep a tape for cuts. Choose the Zamo only for area, and only if you accept 4.0 from 187 and separate adapters. Choose the UniversalDistance 40C if a phone plan matters and you can live with a title that says 30 m beside a bullet that says 40 m.
Is the GLM 40 enough if you measure rooms every week?
For indoor rooms, yes, if IP54 and a 1 m drop are enough. The listing states 0.15–40 m and ±1.5 mm, and the review file is 4.6 from 11,498. Check that the protective bag arrived. It is the wrong pick when the bag needs IP65, or when daylight hides the spot beyond the distance a UK review managed on a white wall, about 20 m.
Should you skip the Zamo?
Skip it if you wanted a simple alkaline pocket meter. The Zamo adds area and USB-C NiMH cells, and the adapters are not in the box. The 4.0 from 187 is the weak star line in this set, with charging complaints that show up more than once. Buy it only when area memory is the feature you will use and you are willing to manage the cells.
Which Bosch if the bag is dusty?
An IP65 50 m GLM, not the EasyDistance and not the GLM 40. Pick the GLM 50-27 C if you want AA cells and MeasureOn named on the listing. Pick the GLM 50-23 G if you want a green spot and a tilt sensor without an app. Pick the GLM 50-27 CG if you want green and the Li-ion kit, and you will charge it before the job. IP65 is jets and dust, not a dunk in a bucket.
Which Bosch if the spot disappears outdoors?
The GLM 150-27 C, because of the camera, not because it is the most expensive. It states up to 150 m and is IP54. A green 50 m tool can help in a bright room and is still the wrong fix for full sun. Bosch's overview marks sunny outdoor work for the long-range camera models.
Is the dearest model the most accurate?
No. The GLM 150-27 C states ±1.5 mm*, the same order of claim as the GLM 40 and the GLM 50-23 G. You pay £299.44 for the viewfinder, the 150 m ceiling and picture memory. A UK review looked for point-to-point and did not find it. Accuracy in sun also shrinks under the manual's unfavourable conditions.
Can you treat 4.8 from 295 as a better tool than 4.6 from 11,498?
You can treat it as a higher average on a smaller file. The GLM 40-31's 4.8 from 295 is real, and so is the GLM 40's 4.6 from 11,498. The larger file tells you more about parcels, pouches and daylight. The higher stars do not erase the 24 metre attribute on the GLM 40-31 page. Use the stars as a satisfaction check, then read the range line you will rely on.
