2mm line battery strimmer

Updated: October 2026

The reel in the basket says it fits petrol, electric, and battery tools, and your cordless trimmer is the one in the shed. 2mm line battery strimmer is not one answer. Fit 2.0 mm only when that model’s instructions allow it. A 1.65 mm head stays on 1.65 mm, even when the nylon is sold as universal. If your manual says yes, the seven reels stay on the [2 mm trimmer line comparison](/hub/lawn-and-garden-equipment/trimmer-line-2mm). Updated on 16 October 2026 from the WORX UK manual, a DeWalt shop specification, a Greenworks manual, and Oregon’s listing. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Read the cordless manual, not the reel title

WORX UK’s WG163E.2 is a 20 V cordless trimmer, and the spare spool is 1.65 mm by 3 m, part WA0004. The manual says to use only 1.65 mm. Other sizes will not feed properly and can cause serious injury. That is a no for every 2.0 mm reel here. Fits most heads does not amend it. The opposite cases are narrow. Power Tool World lists the DeWalt DCMST561N-XJ as an 18 V trimmer with line diameter 2.0 mm. That is the shop’s specification, not a full manual quoted here. A Greenworks GD80BCB English manual prints 2.0 mm on that 80 V model. Voltage is not the rule. Electrical Safety First says to use the size in the instructions. A battery bullet on FEPITO, SOL, or Zeqeey does not override a 1.65 mm manual. The general diameter method is the 2mm strimmer line buying guide.

Where 2.0 mm sits in Oregon’s battery band

Oregon’s Silencio listing is aimed at battery tools up to 40 V, and the cord is round 2.0 mm by 15 m. Oregon prints 1.6 mm to 2.4 mm for grass on battery tools, and 2.4 mm to 3.5 mm for heavy weeds. The pack sits inside the grass band. That heavy-weed sentence is not permission to fit 2.4 mm to a head that stops at 1.65 mm or at 2.0 mm. Silencio is £6.99, about 47p a metre. The bullets claim up to 25 percent longer runtime and up to 10 percent less noise. Those figures are Oregon’s test, not an independent result. The plain yellow Oregon 15 m card is the same stated diameter without that particle claim, at £3.59.

What a thicker line does to a battery head

Manuals cap diameter because thickness changes load, feed, and runtime. There is no watt or minute figure for these reels. A 2.0 mm line in a 1.65 mm WORX head is the case the manual already describes: it may not feed, and it can make the head behave wrongly. On a head that does allow 2.0 mm, thicker than that still means less line on the spool. Do not copy a US fill length onto your UK trimmer. Square 2.0 mm adds a second load. Viabrico reviews say the square line is hard to load and that a small strimmer can run hot. Profile is on round vs square strimmer line. Take the battery out before you open the housing. The wind and the soak are on how to change strimmer line.

If 2.0 mm is allowed, which reel

Silencio, part 800002, is the reel marketed at battery runtime. Buy it for the particle claim, and only if the manual allows 2.0 mm. Leave it if you are buying metres. The runtime percentage is not an independent test. The 127 m Oregon donut is the top pick when you cut often and want a named part. Zeqeey’s 150 m spool is the best value among lengths that agree. SOL does not name a shape. FEPITO’s hank may pool a 1.6 mm review with the 2.0 mm title. A dealer is the stop when the head or the guard is cracked or the line knife is missing. This page does not review the trimmers.

Common questions

Can every battery strimmer take 2 mm line?
No. WORX’s WG163E.2 manual allows only 1.65 mm and warns that other sizes may not feed and can cause serious injury. A UK shop lists DeWalt’s DCMST561N at 2.0 mm, and a Greenworks 80 V manual also prints 2.0 mm. Read the booklet for your model.
What if the manual says 1.65 mm?
Stay at 1.65 mm. The WORX spare on the UK page is 1.65 mm by 3 m. None of the seven reels here is 1.65 mm, so none of them is the refill. Do not fit 2.0 mm to try it, and do not move to 2.4 mm because the grass looks thick.
Is 2.0 mm inside Oregon’s battery range?
On the Silencio listing, Oregon’s grass band for battery tools is 1.6 mm to 2.4 mm, and the pack itself is 2.0 mm by 15 m. The heavy-weed band is 2.4 mm to 3.5 mm. That chart does not override your manual. A 1.65 mm head stays outside the pack.
Will thicker line shorten runtime?
Manuals cap diameter because extra thickness adds load and can stop the line feeding. There is no minute count for these reels. Silencio’s up to 25 percent longer runtime is Oregon’s own test against standard round line, not a result measured here.
Which reel in this set is sold for battery tools?
Silencio, Oregon part 800002, is the listing aimed at battery tools up to 40 V. It is round 2.0 mm by 15 m at £6.99. Battery bullets on FEPITO, SOL, and Zeqeey are general claims. Buy Silencio for the particle claim. Buy the plain cards if you want metres at a lower rate.
Does a fits petrol, electric and battery bullet replace the manual?
No. Electrical Safety First points you at the size in the instructions. SOL, FEPITO, and Zeqeey use a version of that bullet, and the WORX 20 V manual still says 1.65 mm only. If the bullet and the head disagree, follow the head.
