Best scarifier blade

Updated: October 2026

You want the best scarifier blade, and the amazon.co.uk results hand you a 5.0 from five ratings next to a named roller with 187 ratings and a bar that only belongs under a rotary mower. One winner cannot cover those jobs. The best part is the one that names your host, or that prints the bore you have measured. A star line does not cross that boundary. The listings below are the ones in our [scarifier blade comparison](/hub/lawn-and-garden-equipment/scarifier-blade). Peter F. used those amazon.co.uk listings on 22 October 2026. This is not a lab. Best means best for one job

A league table fails on the first row, because the parts are not substitutes. A knife roller for a named petrol scarifier will not bolt under a Honda deck. A spring pack for a Parkside will not slit thatch on an Einhell drum. A conversion bar can lift light moss and still leave a spongy lawn untouched. Calling any of them the best scarifier blade in the UK would need a trial we did not run. The useful short list is conditional: this part if the plate matches, and a reason to leave it if the plate does not. How to measure a blank listing is on the scarifier blade buying guide.

If you already own the scarifier

For an Einhell petrol scarifier GC-SC 2240 P, the 3420021 is the pick: 18 blades, 40 cm, about £37.95, 4.5 from 187 ratings. Skip it if your Einhell is another model, or if a pulley about 1 mm out, or a roller about 1.5 cm short, matches your shaft. Einhell’s accessory page says stainless steel. The amazon listing says alloy steel. The model plate decides. For a Bluemars BM-GP1003, the matching roller is the only listing here that names that machine, at about £39.99, 5.0 from five ratings. Skip it for every other chassis. The title talks about a scarifier blade and an aerator roller without proving both pieces are in the pack. For a Parkside PLV 1500 in A1, B1, C1 or C2, or a PLVA 40-Li in A1 or B1, the OTOTEC pack is the spring refill: 45 springs, 1.6 mm wire, 12 mm coil, about £15.99, 4.3 from 43 ratings. Skip it on a mower and on the Einhell. Free length is missing, and reviews say the springs were too long for a PLV 1500 B1.

If you own a rotary mower

A mower is a different host, so the rollers above are the wrong best. The longer argument is scarifier blade for a lawn mower. The Oregon 690-521-0 is the 51 cm kit at about £37.02, 4.2 from 1,289 ratings. Oregon’s page for that part says it does not fit Honda models. The amazon listing does not. The Oregon 690-617-0 is the 16 in kit at about £36.49, with the same 4.2 from 1,289 ratings, one shared family set. Oregon’s UK page for this width names Honda, Stihl and Kawasaki. Do not paste the 20 in Honda ban onto this bar. Skip both if you need the grass box to fill. The Redpart, at about £19.99, prints 16 in and no bore.

What the stars do not prove

A 5.0 from five ratings can outrank a 4.5 from 187 in a raw sort, and it still tells you less. The Bluemars score is held at 74 for that reason. Both Oregon widths carry the same 4.2 from 1,289. Stars do not repair a bore that is 3 mm out, and they do not certify the part to BS EN 13684. Use the stars after the host matches. On a Parkside, 43 ratings support the spring pack as the best value, at about £15.99, provided the length suits the drum. If the numbers you measured are absent from every listing, the short list ends at a model-specific roller or a hire machine.

Common questions

Which scarifier blade is best for a petrol mower?
Start with the Oregon width that matches the deck: 51 cm if the mower is about 20 in, 16 in if it is about 41 cm, at about £37.02 and about £36.49. Then apply the maker’s Honda line for that width only. A 410 mm perfektGarten bar can be the better price when your centre is 21, 18, 16 or 10 mm. Best still includes a hand spin under the deck.
Is the Oregon bar better than a cheap 410 mm bar?
The Oregon kits document fittings and a very large shared review set. The about £16.45 perfektGarten bar prints a 21 mm centre, with 26 ratings and a review that received two springs. Better here means more complete hardware and more reviews, at roughly twice the money. It does not mean the Oregon will fit a hub the washers miss.
Is the Bluemars roller the best because it is 5.0?
It is 5.0 from five ratings, on a roller named for the BM-GP1003 only. That sample is too small to lead a category. Our score for it is 74. It is the right spare when that model is on the chassis plate. Width is unstated, and five stars do not describe your lawn.
Does best mean it fits a Honda?
Only on the Oregon page that actually says so. The maker’s 16 in page, 690-617-0, names Honda. The maker’s 20 in page, 690-521-0, says the bar does not fit Honda models. A Redpart review says the shape missed a Honda. Measure the hub. The word best does not settle the brand of the mower.
Why are the two Oregon star counts identical?
Both amazon.co.uk listings print 4.2 from 1,289 ratings, and the review text is one family set. The count is real on the page and it is not two independent samples. Judge the 16 in bar and the 51 cm bar by width, by the maker’s Honda line, and by whether the washers suit your hub.
