Best lawn mower

Updated: October 2026

You want a name, and the UK results are full of other people’s tests. The best lawn mower on this page means the highest score inside eleven saved amazon.co.uk listings, plus the lowest saved price among rows that still score 84 or above. It does not mean a magazine has mown your lawn. The [lawn mower comparison](/hub/lawn-and-garden-equipment/lawn-mower) holds the full table. BBC Gardeners’ World, on 8 July 2026, tested a Webb, a Mountfield, a Cobra and a Ryobi. None of those models is in this folder. Peter F. applied the score rule on 22 October 2026. That arithmetic is not a lab, and a qualifying Amazon purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

What best means on this page

The score starts as the amazon.co.uk star rating times 20. Fewer than 100 printed reviews deducts 8 points. A tie goes to the higher review count, then the lower saved price. Best value is the cheapest saved price among scores of 84 or higher. Kit and price decide the badges. They are not a second hidden sum, and they are not a Which? score. That puts the Flymo Speedi-Mo 360C at 92, from 4.6 and 6,673 reviews, saved at about £110. The BLACK+DECKER BEMWH551-GB is the value row, score 84 at about £49.99. The rule names the strongest printed rating in this folder. It cannot tell you that the same mower won a garden-magazine trial.

Top pick, Flymo Speedi-Mo 360C

The Speedi-Mo 360C is a corded wheeled rotary stated at 1,500 W and 36 cm, saved at about £110. The listing prints 4.6 from 6,673 reviews, the largest sample in the set and the highest score. UK reviews in the file praise a strong cut, including grass that has got long, and a cable one owner called very long. One review says the ride height sits too high for a close finish. The Amazon file states a box without litres and states no lead length. The height bullets say 20–60 mm while a cell says 20 cm. Skip this mower if you need a stated lead length, a litre capacity, or a battery. Skip it if you want stripes, because no rear roller is stated.

Best value, BLACK+DECKER BEMWH551-GB

The best-value pick is the BLACK+DECKER BEMWH551-GB, a 30 cm corded hover at about £49.99. That is the lowest saved price in the set, and the lowest among rows scoring 84 or above. The Hyundai roller and the Bosch EasyRotak 32-220 share the score of 84, at about £158.31 and about £108.59. Both cost more, so neither takes the value place. Skip it if you need a metal blade, a box, or a lead you can pick out against the grass. An RCD still applies at about £49.99. A hover will not stripe. If the lawn is already uneven and you can leave the clippings, this is the cheap end of the table. If you want a collecting rotary, it is the wrong row.

When neither badge is the right mower

If you want stripes, the only stated rear roller is the Hyundai HYM3800E, at about £158.31 and score 84, with a 40 L box. Reviews praise the stripes and also report overload on long grass. If you want a driven wheel, only the Litheli states self-propelled. It is a 43 cm cordless mower at about £249.99, the highest saved price here, score 86 from 4.3 and 684 reviews, with two 5.0 Ah batteries stated and no grass box in the bullets. It is the wrong default for a small garden.

Common questions

Is that a magazine award?
No. Gardeners’ World’s electric-mower test of 8 July 2026 names other machines, including a Webb and a Mountfield, and those models are not in this folder. Which? scores are not copied from a paywalled page. Flymo’s UK brochure adds a 40 L box the Amazon file does not state. That line stays on the manufacturer page. It does not change the score.
Who should not buy the Speedi-Mo?
Leave it if you need a litre capacity or a lead length printed on the Amazon listing, because both are missing. Leave it if the height conflict matters: the bullets say 20–60 mm and a cell says 20 cm. Leave it if you want a battery, a rear roller, or the lightest mower in the set. One review also says the cut sits too high for a close finish. The 6,673 reviews do not remove those gaps.
Who should not buy the BLACK+DECKER?
Leave it if you want a metal blade or a box for the clippings. The spare blades are stated as plastic, and no box is stated. Leave it if a black lead is a problem on your grass, which is a repeated review complaint. The two-year warranty on the listing does not replace an RCD. Price does not change the shock risk of a cut cable, and a hover will not leave stripes.
Why is a 4.5-star cordless not above the corded top pick?
Because the rule is stars times 20, then a small-sample deduction. The Speedi-Mo’s 4.6 becomes 92. The swift’s 4.5 becomes 90, with 330 reviews, so no deduction. The Maxlander’s 4.5 would be 90, then minus 8 because only 67 reviews are printed, leaving 82. A cordless mower is not promoted for being cordless. If you need to drop the lead, that is a separate choice from the top score.
Where do the Hyundai roller and the Litheli fit?
The Hyundai HYM3800E is the only stated rear roller, at about £158.31 and score 84, with a 40 L box. Buy it for stripes, not because it won the table. The Litheli is the only stated self-propelled mower, at about £249.99 and score 86, and it is the widest deck at 43 cm. Buy it if you want a driven cordless mower and can pay the top saved price. Neither badge belongs to them under the published rule.
