Einhell cordless strimmer buying guide

Updated: October 2026

The cheapest Einhell cordless grass trimmer on this amazon.co.uk list is about £32.56, and that ticket will not cut a lawn until a Power X-Change battery and a charger are already yours. This Einhell cordless strimmer buying guide sorts the decision: what the tool is, whether a pack is in the box, which cutter fits the garden, and whether you need one battery or two. The [Einhell cordless grass trimmer comparison](/hub/lawn-and-garden-equipment/einhell-cordless-grass-trimmer) holds the ten-row table. Prices are amazon.co.uk shelf prices from 19 October 2026. What you are actually buying

These are 18 V or 36 V Power X-Change lawn trimmers for edges a mower misses. A shrub shear and the Agillo brush cutter were removed, because a metal blade and a harness are a different tool. Seven listings are bodies only. Three include a battery and a charger. Blade models are mostly 24 cm plastic knives. Two 18 V tools and the 36 V tool use nylon line. The about £59.99 GE-CT 18/25-1 puts blades and a spool in one box. Einhell's page for article 3411255 is a neighbouring solo and is not in this set.

Solo body or kit

A solo price is the trimmer and the cutters named in the box, not a charged pack. Entry bodies are about £32.56, about £39.95 with a telescopic shaft, and about £48.43 with a head stated at plus or minus 90 degrees. If you already own one 18 V pack, those are the bodies to compare. The kits are about £51.54 with a printed 2.0 Ah pack, about £68.99 with a battery but no amp-hours, and about £79.95 with 2.5 Ah. Putting about £32.56 next to about £51.54, without pricing a battery you lack, makes the solo look cheaper than a working tool.

Blade, line, or both

Open grass suits a 24 cm plastic blade. Einhell says to be careful near hard surfaces. A DIY Gardening note of 11 September 2022, one tester, found knives fine on grass and snapped on concrete. Walls, flags and paths suit nylon line: about £64.95 at 28 cm, about £64.98 at 30 cm with wheels, and the 36 V body with a stated 2 mm line. Only the about £59.99 GE-CT states both 20 blades and a spool, against 13,827 reviews on the GE-CT 18 Li Solo. The best Einhell cordless strimmer page treats that thin sample as a reason not to call it the pick. If the garden meets walls, use the blade or line guide before you stop at the lowest body price.

One pack or two

Every 18 V model here runs on one Power X-Change pack. A 4.0 Ah mower pack runs an 18 V body and does not run the 36 V trimmer on its own. Article 3411300 is supplied without batteries or a charger. Amazon showed about £94.95 and Einhell's shop showed about £113.95. Use Amazon, then add two packs. About 40 minutes is Einhell UK's figure for the GE-CT 18 Li-Solo on a 2.0 Ah pack, not a number for every listing. Minute counts stay on the battery life page.

What to read on the listing

Count a rotating head only where degrees are printed. The about £48.43 body states plus or minus 90 degrees. The about £79.95 kit states 90 degrees. The 28 cm line body states 180 degrees. The 30 cm body states 90 degrees and wheels. The about £68.99 kit says the head rotates and gives no angle. The about £32.56, £39.95 and £51.54 listings do not state a turn. If the hood will not lock, stop. None of these Amazon cells printed a decibel figure. The 2.5 Ah kit prints 3,800 rpm on Amazon and Einhell UK prints 8,500 idle for article 3411219. Do not merge them.

Common questions

Does the cheap listing include a battery?
No. The about £32.56 GC-CT is Trimmer Only, without a battery or charger. The about £39.95 and £48.43 blade bodies, the line bodies near £65, the about £59.99 spool solo and the about £94.95 36 V body are the same. Only about £51.54 (2.0 Ah), £68.99 (capacity not printed) and £79.95 (2.5 Ah) include a pack. A solo runs when you already own a Power X-Change battery and a charger.
I already own an Einhell mower pack. Which body do I buy?
One 18 V pack means you can ignore the kit premium. For grass away from stone, choose the about £39.95 telescopic body or the about £48.43 body with a stated turning head, or about £32.56 if you accept no stated angle. Flags and walls point you to the 28 cm or 30 cm line solo. A 4.0 Ah mower pack is still one pack. It does not power the 36 V tool alone.
When is a line model the better buy?
When the head will meet walls, slabs, gravel or a path. Einhell recommends line there, and a metal blade belongs on a scythe, outside this set. Here that means about £64.95 or £64.98 on one 18 V pack, or the 36 V 2 mm body only if you own two packs.
What is the 36 V tool actually asking me to own?
The about £94.95 body, plus two 18 V Power X-Change batteries and a charger. None of those are in the included-components line. The same packs can run an 18 V trimmer one at a time. Budget the batteries before you treat about £94.95 as the cost of the job.
Is a brush cutter in this comparison?
No. The Agillo was removed, and so was a shrub shear. Which? and Einhell both keep a metal blade on a brushcutter or motor scythe. Brambles are that job. A plastic knife or a 2 mm line will not become it if you take the guard off.
