Cordless leaf blower for wet leaves

Updated: October 2026

October rain sticks leaves to paving, and the box still says the blower handles wet debris or snow. This page follows that job through twelve amazon.co.uk listings from the 22 October 2026 capture. A handheld battery blower can peel damp leaves on a higher setting for a short pack. Several of these listings have not been shown to do even that, and soaked mats are not proved here. We did not run a wet-leaf trial. Dry technique stays on [how to use a cordless leaf blower](/hub/lawn-and-garden-equipment/cordless-leaf-blower/sub/cordless-leaf-blower-how-to-use). Why wet leaves ignore a light jet

A dry leaf is loose. A wet leaf holds water and sticks. The top leaf flutters and the mat stays. Air speed is how hard the jet hits. Air volume is how much air arrives to peel a wider patch. You need both, with the nozzle low. A retailer rule of thumb is about 170 km/h, and 220 km/h or more for stubborn leaves. That is advice, not a test of these ASINs. POSENPRO's line is 130 mph, which is not 130 km/h. DEKOPRO prints 169 MPH and 169 km/h on the same listing. Greenworks prints 9 m³/min. A large mph figure does not peel a mat if the unit is wrong or the volume is small.

What these listings actually show

One UK review of the MTKOALA LB-8199 says damp leaves moved on the higher setting for about half an hour. That is one reviewer, not a soaked lawn. The same page prints 450 CFM and 700 CFM, so you cannot quote one airflow as the reason. DEKOPRO's line says low speed is not for wet piles. One of 16 reviews says damp leaves behind pots did move. Glowica claims damp leaves, and a sampled review had not tried them. Bosch reviewers who mention weather had not tried wet leaves. JUOIFIP reviews say it does not clear water off a car. POSENPRO's sampled reviews talk about hard surfaces. Greenworks says blower mode clears wet or dry leaves, while vacuum reviews talk about thick leaves, at 6.43 kg and 3.3 from 941 reviews.

Use the high setting without emptying the pack in one corner

If you try damp leaves, use the higher setting in short bursts, nozzle close to the ground, then drop back. Holding full speed in one corner empties the pack. MTKOALA's higher setting lasted about half an hour in that note. POSENPRO reviews talk about 15–20 minutes on full power, which is a dry-patio figure. Glowica's high setting is about 20 minutes in one review. DEKOPRO says low speed is not for wet piles, so the long low-speed claim is the wrong number for this job. A second battery is the practical extension. A bare Ryobi or Bosch lasts as long as the pack you own. If the tool stops and feels hot, let it cool.

When to stop and use a rake or a larger machine

Stop when the mat is soaked or the high setting only polishes a square metre. A rake is the honest tool for that drift. Other UK guides, not a test of these ASINs, treat 18–20 V handhelds as patio tools, and heavy wet fall as a job for more voltage or petrol. Those 56 V kits are not in this capture. Greenworks does not close the gap by having a bag. Vacuum reviews complain about thick leaves, and both batteries must be fitted. For dry days and the odd damp patch, choose on platform and review count in the cordless leaf blower buying guide.

Common questions

Can a cordless blower move wet leaves at all?
It can move damp leaves in the narrow sense this capture records. One MTKOALA reviewer did that on the higher setting for about half an hour, and one DEKOPRO reviewer moved damp leaves behind pots. Soaked mats are not shown. Several buyers wrote that they had not tried damp debris.
Which speed should I use when leaves are stuck?
Use a higher setting, close to the ground, in short bursts. DEKOPRO's bullet says low speed is not for wet piles. Makers writing about their own blowers also point at high speed for wet leaves that will not shift. Drop back once the patch has peeled, so the pack is not spent on air you no longer need.
Will the low-speed runtime still apply?
No. Claims such as POSENPRO's about 40 minutes, or Glowica's up to 120 minutes, describe the slow setting. Wet leaves push you onto high, where reviews talk about 15–30 minutes. Plan on the shorter figure, and on a second pack if the drive is longer than that.
Is air volume more useful than a huge mph number?
You need both. Speed without volume can flick the top leaf. Keep the units straight: 3.6 m³/min is about 130 CFM as arithmetic, and it is not Greenworks' listed 9 m³/min. A title that prints both mph and km/h, as DEKOPRO does, is a conflict, not a bigger number.
What did buyers of these listings actually say about damp leaves?
MTKOALA: one UK review, higher setting, about half an hour. DEKOPRO: damp leaves behind pots, and a bullet that excludes wet piles on low, from a 16-review file. Glowica, LEEIKOO, and Bosch: sampled reviews had not tried wet leaves. JUOIFIP: it does not blow water off a car. That is the record in this folder.
Is a rake still better for a soaked lawn?
Yes, when the leaves are soaked flat and the blower only shifts the dry edges. A rake does not care about pack size. Use the blower afterwards for anything still loose on the paving. A long high-speed session against a neighbour's window is a separate reason to stop.
