Weber barbecue buying guide: trust the bullet, then the model number

Updated: 16 October 2026

You are comparing Weber barbecues on amazon.co.uk, and a 57 cm kettle is showing a cooking area of 57 square centimetres. That figure cannot be the grate. This Weber barbecue buying guide is the check before you choose charcoal, gas or electric: which line on the listing to keep, and which model number is actually in the basket. Shelf prices stay on the [Weber barbecue comparison](/hub/grills-and-barbecues/weber-barbecue). The Products Compared editorial team read these twelve extracts and the matching Weber UK pages on 15 October 2026. We did not light them. Start with fuel, not the badge

Every row here is already a Weber. A stand kettle, a Go-Anywhere, a one-burner Q and the Lumin Compact are different Saturday afternoons, even when the star line looks similar. Charcoal means you wait for coals and you learn a damper. Gas in this set means one burner, and it may not fit the cylinder in your shed. Electric means the Lumin, specified as outdoor, with one review in the extract. A 57 cm kettle at £239.00 and a Q 2100N at £419.00 are not two versions of the same plan. The kettle bullets talk about six to eight people and 2,342 cm². The Q 2100N bullets talk about 4.1 kW, 2,065 cm² and up to 12 burgers, still on one burner. Mixing those sentences is how you buy a weeknight gas grill for a household that wanted a coal fire. Smoke law is not the way to make that choice. GOV.UK says you can use an outdoor barbecue in a smoke control area, and that the offence is smoke from a chimney. Whether a fuel suits you is on Weber charcoal or gas.

Trust the bullet when the area field is absurd

On the Original Kettle Premium 57 cm, model 1502210, the bullets say 2,342 cm². Weber’s UK page for that model says the same 2,342 cm², plus 18 kg and 13 burgers, and 10 years on the bowl and lid against rust-through or burn-through. The amazon.co.uk extract lists 13.6 kg, and the cooking-area specification field says 57 square centimetres. Keep 2,342 cm². Do not average it with 57. A grate of 57 cm² would be a drinks coaster, not a kettle that claims six to eight people. The same clash repeats. The 47 cm bullets say 1,548 cm² and the specification fields say 47 square centimetres. The compact 57 cm bullets say 2,342 cm² and the field says 57 square centimetres. The Lumin title says 43 × 32 cm. Weber’s page for model 1502012 says 1,166 cm² from 43 × 28 cm, and the specification field says 43 square centimetres. If Amazon’s kilogram and Weber’s kilogram disagree, quote both. Do not invent a single weight the two pages do not share. The Go-Anywhere 1131004 field says 56.66 square centimetres, while Weber’s page states the area as 42 × 26 and the weight as 6.78 kg against 5.22 kg on the extract. Model 1500763 states 160 square inches, which the listing does not convert for you. When two figures conflict, the meal you can cook is the one in the bullets or on Weber’s page.

Thermometer, One-Touch, and the compact overlap

The original kettles name a lid thermometer and One-Touch cleaning. The compact kettles do not. That is the split worth money. The Original 47 cm is £111.24 and the bullets include both. The Compact 47 cm is £49.49 and the bullets name an ash catcher, a stand and wheels, not a thermometer. The Premium 57 cm at £239.00 names the thermometer and One-Touch on the larger grate. The Compact 57 cm at £99.99 names 2,342 cm² and does not name a thermometer. Reviews in the compact files complain that a description promised one. Those two compact files are not two studies. The opening reviews match, including text that names a 47 cm grill, on a listing whose title is the 57 cm compact. The 4.5 from 377 and the 4.5 from 378 should not be added together. You also should not treat the compact 57 cm weight field of 3.77 kg as something you will carry. The 47 cm compact in the same batch lists 9 kg. If you want the gauge, buy an original. The original 47 cm sample is thinner: 4.5 from 65 reviews, with only five of 34 review blocks marked United Kingdom.

Two Go-Anywhere model numbers, and one gas connector

1131004 and 1500763 are both called Go-Anywhere charcoal, at £100.79 and £97.43. They are not one product. 1131004 is the model on Weber’s UK page, with folding legs that lock the lid, 4.7 from 1,645 reviews, and a damper the bullets say will cut off the coals. 1500763 is 4.6 from 117 reviews, with only four of 44 review blocks marked United Kingdom. One review on 1500763 says handle screws were missing, another that the char-rail was missing. If you meant the large UK sample, the model number in the basket has to be 1131004. Gas is the other easy merge. The Q 1100N reviews say the hose is for Weber’s small canisters, and one reviewer put an adapter for a normal cylinder at about £55. The canister is not in the included-components line. The Traveler is a different fitting in the only review that names one: EN417 cartridges. The Q 1200N mentions canisters lasting about three hours and does not name the type, inside a 5.0 from four reviews. Do not give the Q 1100N’s adapter story to the Q 2100N. The Q 1100N also prints 230 watts in one field and 2.93 kW in the bullets. The Q 1200N agrees with 2.93 kW, so the 230 watt line is the odd field, not a second power setting.

Common questions

What should you check before trusting a Weber listing?
Check the model number, then the bullet for cooking area, then whether a thermometer is actually named. If the specification field is 47 cm², 57 cm², 43 cm² or 56.66 cm², keep the bullet or the Weber UK figure instead. If Amazon’s kilogram and Weber’s kilogram disagree, keep both. A star score of 5.0 from one or four reviews does not replace that check.
Is the compact 47 cm the same grill as the original 47 cm?
No. Both are 47 cm charcoal kettles with a stand, and both bullets say 1,548 cm². The original, at £111.24, names a lid thermometer and One-Touch cleaning. The compact, at £49.49, does not name a thermometer. Reviews on the compact file say a description promised one. Treat that as a missing part, not as proof the two ASINs are the same grill.
Which listings actually name a lid thermometer?
The Original Premium 57 cm and the Original 47 cm name one in the bullets. The Q 1100N, Q 1200N and Q 2100N name one. The Traveler names one in special features. The Lumin names one in the title. The two compact kettles do not. The Smokey Joe and both Go-Anywhere extracts do not state one.
Why are there two Go-Anywhere charcoal models at almost the same price?
They are different model numbers. 1131004 is £100.79, with 1,645 reviews at 4.7, and it is the model on the Weber UK page. 1500763 is £97.43, with 117 reviews at 4.6, and its area field is 160 square inches. The cheaper name match does not give you the larger review sample.
Does a 5.0 from four reviews mean a better grill?
No. The Q 1200N is 5.0 from four reviews, and the Lumin is 5.0 from one. The Go-Anywhere 1131004 is 4.7 from 1,645. A perfect average on a handful of reviews can sit above a large sample on a sort button. Read the count beside the stars before you treat 5.0 as a result.
What warranty number can you quote without inventing a scope?
Quote the field you can see, and do not widen it. Weber’s page for Premium 1502210 says 10 years on the bowl and the lid, against rust-through or burn-through. The Amazon field on that listing prints “10.” The compact and original 47 cm fields print “2.” The Smokey Joe field says 10 years with no rust-through or burn-through. None of those lines was read as cover for wheels, a grate or a gas hose.
When should you leave this page for charcoal versus gas?
Leave once you know which fields you trust and you still have not chosen a fuel. Diameter, the thermometer and the two Go-Anywhere numbers are the job here. Whether you want coals, a single gas burner or the Lumin is the other page. If a review’s hose does not match the cylinder you own, that is already a reason to change fuel.
