Indoor infrared steak grill

Updated: 23 October 2026

You want a steak crust on a weeknight in a UK kitchen, and you do not have a garden cylinder to light. An indoor infrared steak grill can do that only when the listing is electric and the instructions say kitchen. A propane barbecue cannot, even if the title says infrared. The [infrared grill comparison](/hub/grills-and-barbecues/infrared-grill) keeps the six amazon.co.uk rows, including two gas portables that stay outside. This page follows one steak: which electric listing states a surface and a wattage, what 800°C describes, and when you should wait for reviews. We did not cook on them. Prices are amazon.co.uk figures dated 21 October 2026, and they move.

Gas stays in the garden

GOV.UK keeps a gas barbecue out of the house, a tent, an awning, or a caravan. That covers the Grill2Go and the Solaire. Infrared in the name does not move the cylinder indoors. The mains-or-bottle choice is on electric infrared grill vs gas. Four electric listings claim a kitchen, and only the Klarstein Hannibal states enough to judge: 2,200 W, a knob, a timer, a dropdown glass door, and a title surface of 18.5 by 30 cm. We have not measured the 200–850°C title band. Both ShaiVrissian listings share one model and a claim of about 800°C. The YXYLJOZ puts indoor in the title, with no plug and no voltage. A contact grill stays out of this ranking. Lighting is on how to use an infrared grill.

What 800°C and 18.5 × 30 cm mean

800°C on these boxes is a claim about the heating system, not the steak. Meat at that heat would be carbon. The Hannibal title band is 200–850°C. We have not measured those peaks. The high setting is for a fast crust while the centre stays lower. Only the Hannibal prints a cooking surface. 18.5 by 30 cm is about one steak. German comments, not UK owners, say a T-bone fills the window. The 30 litre line is cabinet capacity. A second steak waits. The tabletops state racks instead of a width. None of the four files includes an extractor test, so this page will not call them smokeless. Expert Reviews still saw smoke from a Ninja Sizzle, which is not our ASIN. Trim the fat and use the hood.

Plug, watts, and missing reviews

Electrical Safety First puts a standard 13 A socket near a 3,000 W ceiling. The Hannibal's 2,200 W sits under that. The amazon.co.uk file does not show the plug. Klarstein's UK shop lists 220–240 V for a silver Hannibal. That is the shop channel, not this ASIN, and not the Amazon price. Confirm a BS 1363 plug. A warm lead means you stop. Both ShaiVrissian titles say 1,700/3,400 W against a 1,700 W spec. The item count prints as 20. The dearer listing adds two settings on the same model. YXYLJOZ also omits the plug. Until the plate and the plug match, these three are listed, not recommended. The Hannibal's 4.3 from 127 is German written text: a fast crust, a small chamber, loose fixings, and one dead element. You choose it for one steak when 2,200 W is the load you planned. Who each row is for is on best infrared grill.

Verdict: one steak, after the plug

If the only space is the kitchen, leave the Grill2Go and the Solaire outside. If you want one steak and a stated surface, the Hannibal is the electric listing that prints 18.5 by 30 cm and 2,200 W, and you still confirm a BS 1363 plug. If the title says 3,400 W, or there is no review line, wait. 800°C is a claim about the heater, not the centre of the meat, and you should expect some smoke.

Common questions

Can I put a gas infrared grill in the kitchen?
No. GOV.UK keeps a gas barbecue out of the house, a tent, an awning, and a caravan. That applies to the Grill2Go and the Solaire. Calling the burner infrared does not change the fuel. Check a mains listing for wattage and plug instead.
Does 800°C mean the meat is at 800°C?
No. On these listings 800°C, or the Hannibal band of 200–850°C, is a claim about the heating system, not the centre of the steak. We have not measured the element. Judge doneness on the meat.
Will an indoor infrared grill smoke?
Expect some smoke. None of the four electric files includes an extractor test, so this page does not call them smokeless. Expert Reviews saw smoke from a cooler Ninja Sizzle, which is not one of these ASINs. Use the hood, open a window, and trim the fat.
Is 2,200 W all right on a 13 A plug?
A stated 2,200 W sits under the rough 3,000 W ceiling Electrical Safety First gives for a standard UK socket. The amazon.co.uk file does not show the plug, so you confirm a BS 1363 plug on the unit. A shop line of 220–240 V is not this Amazon listing. A 3,400 W title sits above that ceiling.
Why are there two ShaiVrissian listings?
They share model code chu9-1141848. The 01 listing is £189.99 and the 03 listing is £232.77, with two settings added in the spec. Both state 1,700 W against a 1,700/3,400 W title, and neither has a review line. The extra £42.78 does not buy a shown plug.
Are there UK reviews?
Not in the files behind this page. The Hannibal shows 4.3 from 127, and the review bodies we have are marked as Germany, not British owners. The two ShaiVrissian ASINs and the YXYLJOZ have no star line here.
How big a steak fits?
On the Hannibal the title surface is 18.5 by 30 cm, about one steak. German comments say a T-bone already fills that window. The 30 litre figure is cabinet capacity. The other two files do not state a cooking width.
