Best gas BBQ: a job, not a single winner

Updated: 23 October 2026

Best gas BBQ on a UK magazine list is usually a Weber Spirit, a Napoleon, or a Genesis that is not in this amazon.co.uk basket. Inside the [Gas BBQ comparison](/hub/grills-and-barbecues/gas-bbq) the jobs split, and a single winner would hide them. You might want a garden cart with a deep review pile, a cart that lists a hose, or a portable you can lift. Gardeners’ World names a Q1200 as a portable at an RRP of £389, which matches the shape of our Weber listing without turning four ratings into a lab test. Updated 23 October 2026. We did not lab-test these barbecues.

Best is a job, not a single winner

A 5.0 on the Weber Q 1200N rests on four ratings. The figures that agree are one burner at 2.93 kW, 1,290 cm², a lid thermometer, porcelain-enamelled cast iron grates, and about £389.00. The included line does not name a hose or a cartridge. Weber’s UK page treats this model as a direct-pressure EN 417 grill, a cartridge portable rather than a cart for eight people. Open it when you want that one-burner Q and you accept the thin file. If you have not chosen a burner count, use the gas BBQ buying guide. The Campingaz Party Grill 400 is 4.6 from 4,208 ratings at about £96.01: best value for a camp stove, and the wrong answer for a 4+1. Nothing here is a cook test.

The garden cart with the deepest review pile

The CosmoGrill Original 4+1, at about £199.99, has 4.4 from 1,036 amazon.co.uk ratings, the largest cart sample here. Four main burners, a side burner, a warming rack, castor wheels, 1,952 cm², and 22 kg. UK reviews call it sturdy once built. One review says the flame starts part-way along the grate. The hose is not on the included list. The two 6+1 carts share model 93416: about £289.99 with no cover in the title, and about £299.99 with a 600D cover. Both bullets talk about 12 kW plus a 2.5 kW side burner, while the heat fields say 2,000 W or 2.5 kW. Pay the extra £10 for the cover, not because the kilowatt field looks resolved.

The cart that lists a hose, and the one to skip

The CosmoGrill Emberr 6+1 at about £279.99 is the cart whose included line names a propane hose and regulator. The star line is 4.0 from 30 ratings. The heat field says 15.4 kW and the bullet says 12.3 kW plus a 3.2 kW side burner. The cooking-area field of 77 cm² is not a grate. A listed hose is not a seal. The soap test is on the gas BBQ hose and regulator page. Skip the TOV 6+1 if you will not pressure-test before lighting. It is about £199.99 with 3.4 from 71 ratings, and UK reviews describe gas leaking at the side burner. The BROILUCK 2+1 at about £89.99 is the cheapest cart, not the best value: 3.5 from 71 ratings and ignition-switch complaints.

Portable and camping, if a cart is the wrong object

If a 39 kg six-burner will not fit, the portable rows are different products. The onlyfire two-burner tabletop is about £189.49, 14.4 kg, 4,700 W, 4.3 from 49 ratings, hose not included, with an area field of 252 square metres against a 252 square inch bullet. The three-burner grate is about £279.99 at 7 kW. The plancha is about £249.99 and 3.2 from 11 ratings, with a UK review of rust within a year. The Campingaz is the picnic case: 2,000 W, a carry bag, and a CV 470 or an R907. Open the Original for the family cart with the most reviews. Open the Emberr if the included hose matters more than the sample. Open the Weber only for the one-burner cartridge job. Leave the TOV.

Common questions

Which gas BBQ in this set has the most reviews?
The Campingaz Party Grill 400 has 4,208 amazon.co.uk ratings at 4.6. Among garden carts, the CosmoGrill Original 4+1 has 1,036 ratings at 4.4. The Weber Q’s 5.0 is four ratings. A larger sample does not turn a camp stove into a patio cart, or fill in a hose the included line never named.
Is the Weber Q the best because it is 5.0?
It is the highest star line and the smallest sample. The listing agrees on 2.93 kW and 1,290 cm². Four positive ratings are not a family-cart verdict. Skip it if you need several burners or a patio-gas bottle. A 37 mbar regulator does not belong on this grill.
Which cart lists a hose in the box?
The CosmoGrill Emberr 6+1 lists a propane hose and regulator, at about £279.99 with 4.0 from 30 ratings. Campfire and TOV bullets say the hose is not included. You still match that Emberr hose to your bottle. A propane hose is the wrong part for a butane clip.
Should I skip the TOV 6+1?
Yes, if you want a first barbecue you can light without a leak story. UK reviews describe gas leaking at the side burner, the hose is not provided, and the star line is 3.4 from 71 ratings. Soap-test every joint, and stop if bubbles appear.
Is the £89.99 BROILUCK the best value?
It is the lowest cart price, not the best value. The star line is 3.5 from 71 ratings, with ignition-switch complaints, and the hose is not included. The Campingaz at about £96.01 is the stronger value for a camp stove. For a garden cart, the Original at about £199.99 has the review evidence.
Does a cover on the £299.99 CosmoGrill make it the one to buy?
Buy that listing if you want model 93416 with a 600D cover in the box. The about £289.99 row is the same model number without the cover in the title. Both still need a separate hose, and both heat fields conflict with the 12 kW bullet.
