Best 6 burner gas BBQ: what to check

Updated: 23 October 2026

You are comparing wagon barbecues on amazon.co.uk, and five listings all say six burners. The best 6 burner gas BBQ in that shortlist is the one whose grate is written in centimetres, whose heat lines do not contradict each other, and whose gas fitting you can name before you pay. A long bullet list is not that proof. Scores for the five grills sit on the [6 burner gas BBQ comparison](/hub/grills-and-barbecues/6-burner-gas-bbq). The Products Compared editorial team updated this on 21 October 2026 from those listings. We did not cook on these grills in a lab. Amazon.co.uk links may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

What six burners should mean on the listing

On these pages, six burners means six main controls under the hood plus a side ring, which is why the titles say 6+1. The side ring heats a pan. You want a main-burner figure and a side-burner figure that agree with the specification field. The carts are about 130–149 cm wide. The Pro Deluxe sits at about 149 cm, so chalk that rectangle before you trust a product photo. A balcony is the wrong job. GOV.UK’s advice is not to use a barbecue indoors, in a tent, under an awning, or in a caravan. Guest counts are on the 6 burner BBQ for a crowd page.

Grate, heat, and the figures you should not trust

Trust a grate written as length by depth. The Pro Deluxe bullets give 77 × 42 cm. The Emberr is 77 cm wide and only 34 cm deep. The BROILUCK is about 70 × 36 cm. The TOV listing prints 850 mm², about 8.5 cm², not a six-burner grid. Pro Deluxe bullets state 14.5 kW, from 12 kW plus 2.5 kW on the side. A heating-power line says 12,000 BTU, about 3.5 kW an hour, not 14.5 kW. Emberr’s bullets sit closer: 12.3 kW plus 3.2 kW, against a 15.4 kW field. When the figures disagree, keep the centimetres.

Regulator, hose, and cover

A six-burner without a matched regulator is a second parcel. Liquid Gas UK puts usual UK pressures at 37 mbar for propane and 28–30 mbar for butane. Only the Emberr includes a propane hose. The amazon.co.uk bullets do not state the millibar. CosmoGrill’s page for that hose describes a 27 mm clip-on at 37 mbar, which suits green patio gas and does not fit blue butane or a red screw-on bottle. Both Pro Deluxe listings name 37 mbar or 28 mbar and leave the hose out. Only the about £299.99 Pro Deluxe puts a 600D cover in the title. Clips are on the propane versus butane page.

Steel, enamel, and a UK winter

These five listings specify enamelled or porcelain-coated steel grates, not cast iron. Pro Deluxe reviews report sticking grates and paint loss. A 600D cover sheds rain. It does not stop moisture under the hood, and the carts are powder-coated steel, not a full stainless body. The Pro Deluxe arrives as two cartons. The leak test is on the how to use a gas BBQ page.

Open the listing you can name

If the chalked rectangle already meets the fence, do not order a cart of about 149 cm. If you need a propane hose in the same carton, the Emberr is the only listing here that prints one, and it still will not fit blue butane or a red screw-on bottle. If you want the 600D cover in the title, that is the dearer Pro Deluxe, and the hose is still a second buy.

Common questions

Do I need a separate regulator for a 6 burner gas BBQ?
For four of these five listings, yes. Only the Emberr includes a propane hose, and that hose is a patio-gas clip-on, not a head for every UK cylinder. The Pro Deluxe pages tell you to buy 37 mbar for propane or 28 mbar for butane. TOV states no pressure. BROILUCK does not list a regulator. Count the grill as unfinished until the valve matches the head.
Should I choose propane or butane?
Choose propane at 37 mbar if you want the grill through a British winter, and keep butane at 28–30 mbar for warm weather when you already own the regulator for that blue bottle. Propane still produces vapour in the cold. Butane struggles near freezing, so a six-burner on butane is a summer arrangement. The Emberr’s included hose follows patio-gas propane. A butane-only cupboard needs a different head.
Why do two heat numbers on one listing disagree?
The bullet list and the specification field were not written as one measurement. A Pro Deluxe total of 14.5 kW sits beside a 12,000 BTU line. About 3.5 kW is what 12,000 BTU an hour converts to, so one of those fields is wrong. Emberr’s 12.3 kW plus 3.2 kW is closer to its 15.4 kW field, and still not a lab test. Do not average the figures.
Is enamelled steel a reason to walk away?
Not inside this set. The bullets say enamelled or porcelain steel, and cast iron is a different grill at a different price. Enamel can crack and chip, which ManoMano notes for this coating, and Pro Deluxe reviews mention sticking grates and paint loss, so you are accepting a surface that needs care in a wet winter. Walk away only if you specifically want cast iron and the listing in front of you does not say so.
Does a gas BBQ cover stop rust?
A cover stops a lot of rain. It does not stop rust. Only the about £299.99 Pro Deluxe puts a 600D cover in the title, and reviews on that family still mention paint loss. Moisture collects under a hood. Buy the cover if the wagon will live outside without a shed. The cover does not erase paint comments.
