Find the year and the burner count
Count the main burners, then look at where the knobs sit. Front-mounted controls on a Spirit I or Spirit II 300 are the layout Onlyfire’s reversible iron bullet is written around. A 2025 three-burner is not the old Spirit 300 cookbox even if the badge still says Spirit. Do not buy because an accessory looks as though it should fit.
Weber part 6790 is porcelain-enamelled cast iron, 57.5 by 44 by 3 cm, at £189.99 including VAT. The product page fits it to Spirit and Spirit II three-burners made from 2016 to 2024, to Spirit four-burners made since 2025, and to Searwood. The 2025 compatibility article puts 6790 on the 2013–2024 three-burner row and on the 2025 four-burner row. The 2025 two-burner and three-burner rows are a dash. A dash means it is not listed.
Weber UK’s page starts the three-burner list at 2016, while a UK shop has said 2013. If the serial label is unclear, send Weber the label rather than guess from the lid.
Weber’s own full-size plate
Part 6790 is outside the twelve amazon.co.uk ASINs. You are buying enamelled cast iron, not a pan you season like a skillet. Weber’s care line is to clean it after use and not to immerse it. Enamelled grates are described as not needing seasoning.
A Spirit four-burner from 2025 is on the 6790 list. A Spirit three-burner from 2025 is not. A Spirit three-burner from 2016 to 2024 is. If you bought the barbecue new in spring 2025 and it has three burners, use the table before you order a Spirit 300 griddle from any brand.
The two Onlyfire Spirit plates in this set
The ceramic insert is Onlyfire F-BGG8259-BS1-EU at about £91.99, listed at 59.5 by 44 by 3.8 cm and 10.7 kg. The title says Spirit 300 and the highlight says Spirit 400. The live bullet excludes Spirit three-burners made since 2025 and also names Spirit 400-series models. Three readable UK texts praise a Spirit 300 fit. That sample cannot settle a 2025 cooker.
The reversible iron, F-BGG8264-BS1-EU, is about 44 by 29.5 by 1.3 cm and 5.73 kg, with 4.6 from 147 reviews. Weber 6790 is 57.5 by 44 cm, so this plate is shorter, smooth on one side and ridged on the other. The bullet names Spirit I and II 300 models with front controls, including E310 and S320, plus some 2025 four-burners such as E-425. One buyer returned a rocking casting. Season it as bare iron.
Universal sheet or a shaped insert
A universal stainless sheet can sit on the grates if you measure and the lid closes. The Onlyfire plate prints 51 cm and 47.2 cm for the same object, with a cooking surface of 45.5 by 27 cm. If you only want a flat top and you will preheat lid-down, the ranking is the best BBQ griddle plate page. A 58 cm sheet may be too wide.
A 2016–2024 three-burner with front controls is the family 6790 and both Onlyfire bullets are aimed at, with the ceramic conflict still in the listing. A 2025 three-burner is not on the 6790 table, and the live Onlyfire line excludes that year. A 2025 four-burner is on the 6790 list, and the reversible bullet names some of those codes.
Common questions
Does the full-size Weber griddle fit my Spirit?
It fits Spirit and Spirit II three-burners made from 2016 to 2024, Spirit four-burners made since 2025, and Searwood. It is not in the twelve amazon.co.uk listings. If your year is missing from that list, assume it does not fit until Weber confirms the serial label.
What about a Spirit bought in 2025 with three burners?
Weber’s 2025 table shows a dash for the full-size griddle on the 2025 three-burner row and the two-burner row. The four-burner row lists part 6790. Do not buy the 2016–2024 plate because the lid still says Spirit.
Is the Onlyfire ceramic plate for a Spirit 300 or a Spirit 400?
The title says Spirit 300 and the highlight says Spirit 400, so the listing contradicts itself. The live bullet excludes Spirit three-burners made since 2025 and also names Spirit 400-series models. Read that bullet on the day you order. Do not let the highlight override a year the seller has excluded.
Is the reversible Onlyfire the same size as Weber 6790?
No. Weber 6790 is 57.5 cm wide by 44 cm deep. The Onlyfire reversible iron is about 44 by 29.5 cm. It is a smaller plate for listed front-control Spirits, not a full-width enamelled insert. One UK buyer returned a rocking casting. Measure before you order.
Can I use a universal stainless sheet instead?
You can if it sits on the grates and the lid closes. It is not shaped as a Spirit insert. UK reviews of the thin stainless sheet want the lid down for heat. A universal plate does not answer the 2025 three-burner question, because that question is about Weber’s shaped griddle.
Where is the serial number check?
On the barbecue’s specification label. If the year is too worn to read, Weber’s compatibility article says to send them the label rather than guess from the lid. Retailers have used 2013 where Weber UK’s 6790 page uses 2016. When those dates disagree, the serial number is the fact.
