Two Spirit cookboxes
Look at the control panel before you look at the price. Side-mounted knobs on an older Spirit 200 are the 7522 path. Front knobs on later Spirits are the 8846 path, and only for the burner counts and years Weber actually prints. Weber’s EMEA compatibility article says not to buy a part because it looks as if it should fit, and it says the part numbers in the table are the UK and Ireland numbers. Side-knob Spirit 200
Weber UK part 7522 is porcelain-enamelled cast iron at £114.99, size 1.3 × 28.5 × 38 cm, for a Spirit 200 with side-mounted controls, a Spirit 500, and Genesis Silver A. Care is a preheat on high for 15 minutes and a brush. Front knobs make 7522 the wrong part.
Denmay’s pair, about £28.99, aims at side knobs from 2009 to 2012 and Spirit 500, and it excludes front-knob E210, S210, E220 and S220 models from 2013 to 2017. Amazon.co.uk shows 4.6 from 264 reviews. The finish field says coated cast iron, not Weber’s porcelain enamel. The bullets say 38 × 28.6 cm and the item line says 44.5 × 26 × 1.4 cm. Measure the cold bars. UK buyers also report damaged boxes and a weld fault.
Later Spirit 200 and 300
Weber UK part 8846 is porcelain-enamelled cast iron at £134.99, size 1.3 × 44.5 × 52 cm, with a removable centre. The UK fits line is Spirit 2-burner and 3-burner barbecues made since 2025, and Spirit and Spirit II 2-burner barbecues from 2016 to 2024. The EMEA table also lists 8846 for 2-burner Spirits in 2013–2024, and for 3-burner Spirits from 2025. A 3-burner from 2018 is not a row this page treats as 8846. Do not widen the line because an amazon title says Spirit 300.
GFTIME 7638 is the aftermarket pair in that later size class, at about £34.19, each grate 44.5 × 30.3 cm. The bullets name Spirit 310 and 320 years and exclude Genesis 300 and 310. Amazon.co.uk shows 4.4 from 434 reviews. UK reviews include a Spirit E310 fit and wider gaps than Weber bars. One review reports rust after a month.
When the listing and Weber disagree
Amazon.co.uk sells 8846 at about £102.13. Weber UK sells it at £134.99. The amazon material field says alloy steel, the finish field says lacquered, and the wattage field says 230 watts. The item line is 54.6 × 5.9 × 41 cm, against Weber UK’s 1.3 × 44.5 × 52 cm. The 16 reviews in the saved listing are marked Germany.
Use Weber UK for the metal and the fits line, and amazon.co.uk for the price on that shop. Bars that are the wrong length for the ledge are a description problem under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Wider bars on a GFTIME pair that sits flat are a cooking complaint. A pair that rocks, or a 38 cm grate in a later Spirit, is the wrong part. Finish and winter storage are porcelain versus bare cast iron.

Which grate fits a Spirit from 2016 with knobs on the front?
Use Weber UK’s 8846 fits line, not the word Spirit alone. That page covers Spirit and Spirit II 2-burner barbecues made from 2016 to 2024, and Spirit 2-burner and 3-burner barbecues made since 2025, at £134.99 and 1.3 × 44.5 × 52 cm. The EMEA table also places 8846 on 2-burner Spirits for 2013–2024. It does not give 8846 to every 3-burner from 2013. A 2016 two-burner with front knobs is in the UK fits line. A side-knob Spirit 200 is the 7522 path instead.
Does GFTIME 7638 fit a Genesis 300?
No. The bullets say it does not fit Genesis 300 or 310. They do name Spirit 310 and 320 years, and older Genesis Silver, Platinum and Gold. UK reviews talk about a Spirit E310 and a Spirit 200, with wider gaps than Weber originals. Genesis II part 66095 is a different listing. Do not use a Spirit 310 pair to fill a Genesis 300.
Why does Denmay print two sizes?
The bullets say 38 × 28.6 cm each and the item-dimensions line says 44.5 × 26 × 1.4 cm. The page does not explain the clash. The 38 × 28.6 cm figure sits next to Weber 7522’s 28.5 × 38 cm class. The longer, narrower line does not. Measure your cold grate and match one figure. If neither matches, leave the listing. UK delivery reviews also include damaged boxes and a weld fault, so a size match is not the last check.
Is amazon’s 8846 the same part as Weber UK’s 8846?
The part number is the same. The pages are not the same description. Weber UK says porcelain-enamelled cast iron, £134.99, 1.3 × 44.5 × 52 cm, with the fits line above. Amazon.co.uk says about £102.13, lacquered, alloy steel in the material field, and 54.6 × 5.9 × 41 cm on the item line. Treat the brand page as the specification and the amazon price as that shop’s price. The German-marked reviews in the saved listing are not a UK field test of the fit.
