Hose reel cart capacity

Updated: 23 October 2026

The title says 60 m, and the hose in your hand is 19 mm thick. Hose reel cart capacity is that mismatch. A single metre number is the length of narrow hose, usually 12.5 mm or 13 mm, unless the listing prints a thicker figure beside it. Peter F. set the figures on 21 October 2026 from saved amazon.co.uk rows and Gardena's UK trolley page. Maker metres that never appear on the Amazon title stay labelled as maker metres. The number is a bore

12.5 mm and 13 mm are the half-inch shopping size. 19 mm is three-quarter inch, and each turn takes more of the drum, so you get fewer metres. A cart titled 60 m usually means about 60 m of the narrow hose. It does not mean 60 m of 19 mm hose. The empty Hozelock 2398 is the clear case: the bullet says 60 m of 12.5 mm, and the hose is not included. Where the listing is silent, the bore stays unknown. CleverRoll S buyers found that 25 m only just fitted a title that said 40 m. FinalCheck's rule of thumb says 19 mm hose needs about twice the drum, so a 60 m cart might hold about 30 m. Gardena's own metres are the better figure for that family.

What this set actually prints

Read the listing figure, then the bore if that listing states one, then what buyers found. Hozelock 2398 prints 60 m of 12.5 mm, and a 50 m Hozelock hose is reported to fit. The Plus supplies 50 m of 12.5 mm hose, and that 50 m is the hose in the box. CleverRoll M Easy is up to 60 m, with no bore, and a 50 m hose fitted easily. CleverRoll L is 100 m, with no bore: 100 m of half-inch hose missed, and 100 m of 8 mm fitted. Draper 25068 and 25060 are 45 m claims, and reviews say 50 m will not fit. Cellfast ALUPLUS already prints 45 m of half-inch, 30 m of 5/8 inch and 20 m of 3/4 inch. SPECILITE's 80 ft is about 24 m and 150 ft is about 46 m, which is arithmetic, not a wind test.

Gardena's family table is not the Amazon title

Gardena's UK trolley page prints a split these Amazon titles do not all repeat. CleverRoll S is 40 m of 13 mm, 30 m of 15 mm and 25 m of 19 mm. CleverRoll M is 60 m of 13 mm, 50 m of 15 mm and 35 m of 19 mm. CleverRoll L Easy is 100 m of 13 mm, 80 m of 15 mm and 50 m of 19 mm without the hose guide. The £79.99 CleverRoll M title does not say 35 m of 19 mm. If you need 19 mm hose, use 35 m as Gardena's figure for the M family, and confirm it on Gardena's page before you treat it as the carton in the basket.

What buyers found on the drum

On the M, a 50 m hose fitted easily and the bore was unstated, so that is not evidence for 19 mm. On the L, 100 m of half-inch hose was a miss and 100 m of 8 mm was a fit. Both can stand, because 8 mm is much thinner than Gardena's 13 mm line. A further L review mentions a broken handle after overfilling. If your hose is longer than the figure for its bore, that is the first check on the hose reel cart buying guide. The best hose reel cart page can use the result.

Common questions

What does 60 m on a hose cart mean?
It means about 60 m of narrow hose, usually 12.5 mm or 13 mm, unless that listing prints another bore. The empty Hozelock 2398 says 60 m of 12.5 mm. The CleverRoll M title says up to 60 m and prints no diameter.
How much 19 mm hose fits a cart rated 60 m?
For the Gardena M family, Gardena's UK page says 35 m of 19 mm alongside 60 m of 13 mm. That 35 m is not written on the £79.99 Amazon title. The Hozelock 2398 prints 60 m of 12.5 mm only, so it offers no 19 mm figure to borrow.
Will my 50 m hose fit a 45 m Draper?
Plan on no. Both Draper carts are 45 m claims, and reviews say 50 m will not fit once thickness counts. A 50 m hose needs a cart whose narrow-hose figure is at least 50 m and whose bore matches.
Does the Gardena 100 m trolley hold 100 m of half-inch hose?
One CleverRoll L review says 100 m of half-inch hose failed to fit. Another says 100 m of 8 mm hose did fit. Gardena's UK page lists 100 m of 13 mm and 50 m of 19 mm without the hose guide. Half-inch hose is not 8 mm.
What is 80 ft and 150 ft in metres?
SPECILITE's bullet runs from 80 ft of 3/4 inch hose to 150 ft of 1/2 inch hose. Eighty feet is about 24 m and 150 feet is about 46 m. The thicker hose is the shorter length. The conversion is arithmetic, not a wind test.
Is 12.5 mm the same idea as 13 mm?
Both are the half-inch shopping size, and they are different printed numbers. Hozelock uses 12.5 mm. Gardena's UK page uses 13 mm for the long figure. Neither number stands in for 19 mm.
