Cordless patio cleaner buying guide

Updated: 21.10.2026

You are looking at a mossy patio or a block-paved path, and the cheapest amazon.co.uk line is a bare shaft with no battery in the box. This cordless patio cleaner buying guide is the decision before rpm, because the shelf price is not a working kit. The [cordless joint cleaner comparison](/hub/garden-tools/cordless-joint-cleaner) holds the eight listings and their prices. Products Compared used those amazon.co.uk files and public UK sources, not a lab test. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Bare tool or kit

Buy a bare tool only when a matching pack and a charger are already on the shelf. Einhell’s GC-CC 18 Li solo, model 3424050, is £47.36 with nylon and steel brushes, a guide wheel, and 1,200 rpm, and with no battery. Ryobi’s RY18PCA-0 is £83.95, wire brush only, 1,350 rpm, and also bare. Parkside’s 20 V patio cleaner is £108.99, both heads at 110 mm, 1,200 rpm, and still no pack. A kit is the basket when this is your first tool of that brand. The kits in this set are the NETTA 12 V at £69.99, the Ark Mat Lazy-Weeder at £74.95, Einhell’s GC-CC 18 Li kit at £75.95, Einhell’s GE-CC 18 Li kit at £83.65, and Sealey’s CP108VJC at £96.47. The two Einhell kits include a charger as well as a pack.

Which battery family

Match the family before you match the stars. Einhell’s page for the GC-CC 18 Li-Solo says any 18 V Power X-Change pack fits and that none is in the solo box. Ryobi’s RY18PCA-0 takes an 18 V ONE+ pack, and the nylon head is still a separate line. Parkside’s listing is 20 V X 20 V Team. An Einhell pack will not click on, and a Ryobi pack will not either. NETTA is a 12 V sweeper with its own pack. The Lazy-Weeder brings its own 18 V pack and charger at £74.95 and will not charge from a Power X-Change dock. Sealey’s CP108VJC is a 10.8 V SV10.8 kit with a 2 Ah battery at £96.47.

Heads and joint width

The head decides whether the stone survives the afternoon. Steel clears robust concrete and brick, and UK reviews on Einhell and Ryobi say it can scour a face you wanted to keep. Nylon is the softer bristle. Which bristle belongs on sandstone is on the wire brush or nylon patio cleaner page. Einhell, Parkside, the Lazy-Weeder, and Sealey include both heads. Ryobi’s bare listing includes wire only. Width is the limit the cutting-width line hides. Einhell prints about 100 mm, Parkside 110 mm, and Ryobi’s nylon head 115 mm. The Weed Guy puts typical block-paving joints at about 2–5 mm. Einhell’s own notes aim these brushes at crevices of about 10–15 mm. A disc that wide still sits on a 3 mm joint and spins on the weed.

What to skip on the listing

Search results mix this shaft with tools that do another job. Picobella-style machines are surface rollers for the face of the slab, not a disc in the joint. A pressure washer can empty a joint without killing the root. Ignore “18 litres” and “Item Form Wipe” on the £75.95 Einhell file. Those lines describe another product. A weeding knife is the better buy when the joints are about 3 mm, the roots are established, or you only have a few metres of path. The Royal Horticultural Society starts hard-surface weeds with a knife and a hand brush. The powered shaft earns its price when the area is large and the gaps are wide enough for the head to bite.

Common questions

Do I already own a battery that fits?
You do if the pack is the same family as the tool. Any 18 V Einhell Power X-Change pack fits the solo, which is why £47.36 can be a complete extra tool. A Ryobi ONE+ pack fits the RY18PCA-0 and still leaves nylon as a second buy on soft stone. A Parkside X 20 V pack is the only match for the £108.99 bare tool. NETTA, the Lazy-Weeder, and Sealey bring their own batteries.
Is the nylon head in the box or a second order?
It is in the box on the Einhell, Parkside, Lazy-Weeder, and Sealey files in this set, beside a steel or metal head. It is not in the box on the Ryobi RY18PCA-0, which ships wire only. Budget the RAC818 at £17.99 on Ryobi’s UK site, or about £12.95 to £17.99 elsewhere, before you call that bare tool the full cost. NETTA’s page disagrees with itself on how many nylon brushes arrive, so check the parcel rather than the title alone.
Is 12 V or 10.8 V enough on its own?
It can be when the weeds are light and you will never share the pack. NETTA at £69.99 has 3.7 from 180 reviews and short-run complaints. Sealey at £96.47 includes a 2 Ah pack and has no review line in this file, so you are buying the bullets. Neither pack runs a hedge trimmer later. That is the point of a one-brand kit, and it is also the ceiling.
How long will one small pack actually run?
The sentences do not agree. Ryobi’s table says 32 minutes on 2.0 Ah and up to 80 minutes on 5.0 Ah, while reviewers on the RY18PCA-0 often say about 20–30 minutes. NETTA reviews mention about 18 minutes and about an hour, against an 80-minute claim. Name the amp-hour before you believe a minute figure.
When is a weeding knife the better buy?
When the joint is narrower than the head, or the root is the problem rather than moss on top. Block joints of about 2–5 mm are thinner than these discs. A knife reaches the root the brush skates over. The shaft still makes sense on a large area of wider slab gaps, once you accept goggles and a broom afterwards. On a short path the knife is the smaller spend.
