Best UVC pond clarifier

Updated: 22 October 2026

You want one model named, and shop pages already call theirs the best UVC pond clarifier of the year. Here that phrase can only mean one of four Evolution Aqua evoUV listings saved from amazon.co.uk on 19 October 2026. Oase is not a row, and the maker’s evo15 and evo75 are not for sale on this page either. Products Compared sorted the four by price and by stars. That is not a laboratory test. Litres, sun and flow sit on the [buying guide](/hub/garden-ponds/uvc-pond-clarifier/sub/uvc-pond-clarifier-buying-guide). What best can mean in this set

A dealer best-of is often a sales ranking. Real Aquatics ranked standalone pond UV units for 2025 from 2024 sales divided by complaints and returns. In that formula the evo30 came first, the evo25 second and the evo55 fourth. They also called the evo55 a unit for small to medium ponds, which fights the maker’s 55,000 litre maximum, so that phrase is not reused here. Our badges follow the listings we held. The evo25 at £129.99 is 4.4 from 49 reviews, and it is the top pick: joint-highest score, the larger review file, and the lowest price. The evo55 at £199.99 is the same 4.4 from 41, and it is the best value when the grid has left the evo25, at about £20 more than the evo30. The evo110 is 4.3 from 12. The evo30 is 3.8 from 8. If the grid has stepped you up, walk past the top pick.

evo25 when the pond is the smaller cell

Name the evo25 when the pond is still in the lower cell: part shade, moderate stock, and a volume that does not already demand the evo55. The maker’s maximum is 20,000 litres, with an optimum around 7,500 litres per hour and a maximum of 10,000. At £129.99 it is £70 under the evo55. Reviewers who report a result often say the green eased in about three days, and one UK review describes a straightforward fit in line with an FX4. The same file includes seal complaints, a shattered sleeve, and a lamp that is awkward because the cable twists with the end caps. The listing does not print watts or an IP rating, and 7.35 kg looks wrong beside the evo55 at 3.93 kg. Three days is the short end of the clearance window, not a guarantee. Skip it under about 7,500 litres in shade, where the unlisted evo15 is the usual answer, and skip it in full sun with high stock.

evo55 and evo110 when the grid steps up

The evo55 is the step worth about £70 when the grid has left the evo25. The maximum is 55,000 litres, optimum around 15,000 litres per hour, maximum 20,000. The listing prints 98 × 8.8 × 16.7 cm and 3.93 kg, still without a wattage. Clearance talk runs from a few days to about ten. Several reviewers check after dark, because there is no daytime indicator. One UK review says the ballast seal let rain in within a year and tripped the house electrics, so keep driving rain off the housing. The evo110, at £284.95, is the only listing that prints watts, at 110, from two 55 watt lamps. The maximum is 75,000 litres, shared with the evo75 we do not stock, and the optimum is about 20,000 litres per hour. UK fittings are not in the box. Twelve reviews and a UK comment that says Ok are a thin file. If the pond is large and heavily stocked, read the koi pond UV clarifier size page before you treat 110 watts as the decision. If the cell is the missing evo75, this set does not contain the match.

Why the evo30 is not the default

The evo30 costs £179.99, only £20 under the evo55, with 3.8 stars from eight reviews. That sample cannot overturn 49 or 41 reviews. One UK review says the vertical hosetail thread jumps under side load, and the O-ring pops off if you go past hand tight. Another, on a 4,500 litre pond, had stepped up from 18 watts and was not fully clear yet. That note means not instant, not that this is the koi size. The listing length is 57 cm and the maker’s length is 990 mm. Do not average them. A shop can still rank this model first on sales minus returns. The grid decides whether you are between the evo25 and the evo55 at all. If the symptom is blanketweed, a larger lamp is still the wrong tool. That split is the green water page.

Common questions

Which of these four should I buy?
Name the evo25 for the lower cell and the £129.99 listing with 49 reviews. Name the evo55 when sun or stock has stepped you up, and shelter the housing from rain. Name the evo110 only in the upper cell, and buy the 2 inch fittings separately. Leave the evo30 unless the grid lands there and you have checked the body length. If the cell is the evo15 or the evo75, none of the four is the maker’s answer.
Is the evo25 the best because it has the badge?
The top pick follows 4.4 stars from 49 reviews and the lowest price. The best value mark is the evo55, for a pond the grid places above the evo25. A shaded goldfish pond can suit the evo25. A full-sun pond with heavy stock under 20,000 litres is already being pointed at the evo55. Ignore the top pick if your cell is a different model.
When is the evo55 worth £70 more?
It is worth the jump from £129.99 to £199.99 when the grid has left the evo25 and the pump can live between about 15,000 and 20,000 litres per hour. It is not worth £70 on a small shaded pond the evo25, or the unlisted evo15, already covers. You buy a larger class and 41 reviews at the same 4.4 stars, not a printed wattage.
Why not the evo30, if a shop ranked it first?
Real Aquatics ranked it first on sales minus returns for their own outlets. amazon.co.uk showed 3.8 stars from eight reviews, a hosetail complaint, and a 57 cm length against the maker’s 990 mm. Use it only if the grid places you between the evo25 and the evo55 and you can confirm the housing that arrives.
Is the evo110 the best large-pond unit in this set?
It is the only captured unit at the 75,000 litre maximum, and the only listing that prints 110 watts. The file is 12 ratings and a UK comment that says Ok. Fittings are a separate buy. The evo75, which shares that ceiling at a slightly lower optimum flow, is not here.
Are titanium evoUV models in this comparison?
No. The four rows are the standard evo25, evo30, evo55 and evo110 listings from 19 October 2026. A titanium finish is a different product, and it is not a fifth row with its own star count. The sizing grid does not change because the shell does.
What if my pond is under 7,500 litres?
Many shaded ponds at that size land on the evo15, which this page does not list. Buying the evo25 because it is the cheapest captured row can overshoot that small cell, and it still leaves you short if the pond is full sun and heavily stocked. Measure the litres on the buying guide, then accept a gap if the cell is the evo15.
