Best pond liner

Updated: 22 October 2026

You want one sheet from this amazon.co.uk set, or a plain reason to buy none of them. Best pond liner, inside these twelve listings, means a stated thickness you can reconcile with the size line, a rectangle that can cover the hole after overlap, and review texts that say more than a star. The rows and the GBP prices are on the [pond liner comparison](/hub/garden-ponds/pond-liner). Peter F. used those listings and the saved UK review notes, and did not puncture a sheet in a lab. Stars and prices are the snapshot written up on 21 October 2026. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

Stars are not a thickness

PondKraft is 4.6 from 404 reviews at £28.99. Storystore's 3 m by 3 m sheet is 4.4 from three reviews at £14.99. WARM&LOVE is 3.8 from 500 reviews at £6.99, and many texts call it too thin. YWKJDDM at £9.88 has no star line. A 4.4 from three people is a thinner evidence base than a 4.0 from 269. Heavy duty appears on 0.1 mm titles. The only saved review of kanghelong, at £5.99, says the pack states greenhouse film. The decision order is on the pond liner buying guide.

The thin films

kanghelong, WARM&LOVE at £6.99, and MuAnWei at £8.99 all state 0.1 mm HDPE. In the larger samples, leaks, rock holes, and bin-bag or rubble-sack comparisons are common, including an empty pond overnight. Some buyers were content with a planter or a half barrel. MuAnWei includes 10 nails of 16 cm, which are a poor reason to pierce the sheet. MIKIICOCO at £9.98 states no millimetres. Treat the group as film. A half barrel is not a 4 m hole.

PondKraft and the other stated midweights

PondKraft is the top pick: tri-laminate LDPE, 0.35 mm, at least 200 g/m², 4 m by 4 m, at £28.99, about £1.81 a square metre. Saved texts include ponds that held, a join that opened, a slow leak on sand and geotextile, and a short cut. The 25 year line is on the title only. A live description read on 21 October 2026 ties it to the maker's underlay, which the bullets do not list. Storystore's 3 m by 3 m sheet at 0.2 mm and £14.99 is the best value row, because the dimension line matches and the stated area is about £1.67 a square metre. Only three reviews sit behind the 4.4, one describes 2 m by 2 m, and a bullet says rubber while the material line says HDPE.

The 0.5 mm titles, and when to leave the set

SDLDEER's 4 m by 6 m sheet is £50.99, stated at 0.5 mm, and the part number Teichfolie2X2 does not match the title. Saved texts include water loss and a stiff sheet. Storystore's 3 m by 4 m listing is £34.19 at a stated 0.5 mm, with dimensions of 1 cm by 1 cm by 1 cm, and texts that call it both thick and brittle. Tezhiie is £59.99. The bullet says 20 mil / 0.5 mm, the dimensions say 0.5 cm, and texts include a split and welds that stuck a stated 4 m by 5 m sheet down to about 3 m by 2 m. Leave the set for pond-grade EPDM or butyl at 0.75 mm or 1.00 mm. That split is on EPDM or HDPE pond liner. A shallow beach is on pond liner for a wildlife pond.

Common questions

Which listing states both a size and a thickness that the dimension line does not contradict?
Storystore's 3 m by 3 m sheet at 0.2 mm prints 300 cm by 300 cm by 0.02 cm, which matches, though one of three reviews describes 2 m by 2 m. PondKraft states 4 m by 4 m, 0.35 mm, and at least 200 g/m². Its 57 cm by 40 cm by 4 cm line is the parcel, not a second sheet. Several other rows print 1 cm by 1 cm by 1 cm against a multi-metre title.
Is the highest star rating the one to buy?
No. PondKraft's 4.6 from 404 is a stronger sample than Storystore's 4.4 from three, and WARM&LOVE's 3.8 from 500 is a large sample of complaints about 0.1 mm film. Stars do not state a thickness. YWKJDDM has no star line, so a rating sort hides it.
What did reviewers still report about PondKraft?
Many of 50 texts say the pond held, including one checked after eight months. Others report a join that opened, a slow leak on sand and geotextile, and a sheet cut short. The title says 25 years. The live page on 21 October 2026 ties that line to the maker's underlay, which the bullets do not list.
Who should skip every sheet in this set?
Skip them if you want pond-grade EPDM or butyl at 0.75 mm or 1.00 mm, if the ground is stony and you will not buy separate underlay, or if you need a printed fish-safety certificate. A koi bullet on an HDPE listing is not that certificate. A dug wildlife pond with a beach is a poor match for 0.1 mm film.
Does the 25 year title on PondKraft state the terms in the bullets?
No. The bullets describe tri-laminate LDPE, 0.35 mm, at least 200 g/m², and a coating on both sides. They do not say what the 25 years covers, and they do not include underlay. The live description adds an underlay condition. A specialist shop's butyl lifespan line does not become PondKraft's terms.
Is the £5.99 sheet a reasonable gamble for a half barrel?
It can be, if a puncture only wastes a barrel of water and you already expect film. kanghelong is 2 m by 2 m at 0.1 mm and £5.99, with one review that calls the pack greenhouse film. WARM&LOVE at £6.99 has a much larger sample, including a half-barrel leak. A half barrel is not evidence for a 4 m hole.
