Best rattan armchair

Updated: 23 October 2026

You want one chair, and a star sort will not give it to you. The best rattan armchair on amazon.co.uk depends on whether you want a full weave or rattan trim, because four of the five listings have no star line. This page says who each kept chair is for, and who should leave it. The prices and the 4.6 from four reviews sit in the [rattan armchair comparison](/hub/garden-furniture/rattan-armchair), taken from the listings saved on 21 October 2026. Peter F. did not run a lab test. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

What best can mean in this set

UK best rattan pages usually assume one garden product. This comparison is five single chairs, and they are not one construction. Two are hand-woven. Three put rattan on a wood or fabric chair. None is a stated polyethylene patio armchair. A score that leans on stars can only see the Desser, because it is the only row with 4.6 from four amazon.co.uk reviews. That sample is two UK texts. Both call the chair good-looking. One, from 13 October 2022, says it needs a cushion in the small of the back. Four reviews do not crown a chair for every room. The top pick is that Desser as the only reviewed full weave. The best value mark sits on the Norna at £129.99, with a pad, against £206.00. Those flags are for this set, not a laboratory result. If you have not separated cane from rattan arms on a linen chair, start with the rattan armchair buying guide.

The two hand-woven chairs

The Desser Teardrop, model 73075, is £206.00, indoor natural rattan, 81 × 54 × 91 cm, with the seat 41 cm from the floor. The arm-style attribute says armless. There is no cushion in the box, and a foam filling attribute conflicts with that line, so budget for a pad if you want the lower-back support the review described. It suits a living room where the weave is the chair. Skip it if you need arms, a large review sample, or a chair for UK rain. The listing says indoor. The ZRIZAURA Norna, model ZR944, is £129.99, 56 × 58 × 79 cm, with a seat 43 cm wide and 40 cm deep at 45 cm high, and one chair pad. The item weight is 5 kg, which is the chair, not a user limit. Materials are bamboo, rattan and a clear acrylic lacquer. The attribute says indoor. The title also says conservatory. There is no star line. It is the better-value woven chair if you want a pad and can accept an unreviewed listing. Skip it for an open patio. Conservatory use still needs the ventilated room Daro describes, on the rattan chair for a conservatory page.

The three rattan-trim chairs

The £97.99 RBFGYIOP chair is solid wood with grey linen over foam and natural rattan on the armrests. It is marked indoor, a cushion is included, and the size block says 68 × 69 × 77 cm at 14 kg. There is no seat height and no star line. Choose it when rattan is a detail on a padded lounge chair. Leave it when you searched for a woven shell. The same 68 × 69 × 77 cm and 14 kg appear on the ARTEMOTUS chair at £130.99, so treat that block as unverified until you measure it. ARTEMOTUS puts rattan on the backrest of a hardwood frame with a linen cushion. A bullet says up to 300 lb. That is not a kilogram rating and not BS EN 581. The assembly attribute says no, while the bullets describe labelled parts. The generic high-back is £149.99, with rattan on the sides. The title and colour say white boucle. One bullet says linen. Dimensions, item weight and a star line are absent, and the brand line is Generic. Skip it until you can measure, or until the cover wording is one fabric.

Who should leave this set

Leave this set if the chair will stand on an open patio through a British winter. No kept listing is polyethylene wicker on a named metal frame. BBC Gardeners' World places natural cane indoors or in a conservatory, and PE outside. A weatherproof weave does not make the cushion safe to leave out all winter, and these five rows do not name an aluminium or steel frame. Leave as well if you need a kilogram user limit, a permanent fire label you can see, or a review count in the hundreds. The only star line is 4.6 from four. The 300 lb bullet is one seller's line on one trim chair. A cushioned cane armchair on Desser's own site starts nearer £396, which is not this £206.00 Teardrop. For the patio specification, use the natural rattan versus PE page.

Common questions

Which kept chair is actually woven rattan?
Two of them. The Desser Teardrop at £206.00 is hand-woven natural rattan, model 73075, with no cushion. The Norna at £129.99 is hand-woven rattan with a pad, and the material line also names bamboo and lacquer. The other three put rattan on the arms, the back, or the sides of a wood or fabric chair. A star line exists only on the Desser, at 4.6 from four reviews.
Why is 4.6 stars not an automatic first place?
The 4.6 is four amazon.co.uk reviews, with two UK texts in the file. One of those texts wants a cushion in the small of the back, and the listing says no cushion is included. The other four chairs have no star line, so they cannot lose a star contest they never entered. The Desser is the top pick here as the only reviewed full weave, and it is still the wrong chair if you need arms or a patio seat.
Is the £129.99 Norna the better-value woven chair?
In this set, yes, with a condition. It is £76.01 less than the Desser and it includes a chair pad, at 5 kg and a 45 cm seat height. It has no reviews. The materials are bamboo, rattan and lacquer, and the indoor attribute does not match a rain-soaked patio even though the title says conservatory. The £97.99 chair is cheaper still, and it is rattan on the arms only, so it is not the value pick for a woven frame.
Can any kept chair go on an open patio?
No. The Desser is indoor natural rattan, and the Norna is indoor on the attribute even though the title says conservatory. The trim chairs do not state a weather rating. For a patio you want polyethylene on a named metal frame, and that chair is not in this five-row table.
What is missing on the £149.99 boucle chair?
Width, depth, height, item weight, a user limit and a star line are all missing. The brand is Generic. The title says boucle and a bullet says linen, so the cover is unresolved. Rattan is on the sides, not the whole frame. A claimed set-up under 10 minutes does not replace a measurement. Order it only if you can check the size after delivery and you wanted side panels, not a cane shell.
