Small patio lounge set

Updated: 22 October 2026

The photo shows a corner sofa in a wide garden, and your floor is a balcony or a patio where the door opens outwards. A small patio lounge set is the one whose stated footprint still leaves a route to that door. In this slice the jump is a chair of 64 × 62 cm, an L-shape of 176 × 126 cm, or a Malibu corner of 2.05 × 1.39 m. This page chalks those figures. The six rows sit on the [lounge furniture set comparison](/hub/garden-furniture/lounge-furniture-set). Products Compared editorial team used the dimensions captured on 19 October 2026. Measure the clear floor, not the garden

Run a tape along the clear depth, then mark the door swing. An outward balcony door can take most of that depth. Furniture in Fashion cites a London Plan minimum of 1.5 m depth for some dwellings. That figure is not every balcony, and it is not a promise that a 126 cm sofa will sit there with your knees. When you do have the room, the shape argument is on corner sofa set or bistro set.

The two-chair sets

RELAX4LIFE (B0H1RBPFKH) is the set you can draw. Each chair is 64 × 62 × 76 cm and the table is a 40 cm cube, at 19.5 kg. Two chairs still have to clear the door, and you need space to pull your feet back. They do not need the run an L-shape does. Review limits are on the best lounge furniture set UK page. For fit, the centimetres are the useful part. Harbour Housewares (B0HB4B5P3H) prints 23 × 85 × 116 cm and 23 × 116 × 85 cm. A 23 cm side is not a plan you can chalk.

The L-shapes in centimetres

rattanstar, black or brown, prints 176 × 126 × 71.1 cm at 28 kg. The depth field that says 3 is not usable, so use 126 cm. A balcony around 1.2 m deep fails that before you add knees. Draw 176 by 126 first. If that rectangle crosses the door, the colour does not matter. Reviewers who liked the size were talking about a small or medium garden, not a 1.2 m balcony. Malibu (B099FH9HCL) prints 2.05 × 1.39 × 0.72 m, the largest footprint here, at a listed 20 kg across two packs. Chalk it both ways, because reviewers found the lounger on the opposite side from the leaflet. Cannes lists 175 × 58 cm as a section, not the whole L.

Getting it there, and living with it

The rectangle is useless if the carton stops at the side gate. RELAX4LIFE at 19.5 kg is the lightest lift. Harbour Housewares is 26 kg, rattanstar is 28 kg, Cannes is 35 kg, and Malibu’s printed 20 kg is split across two boxes. If a box will not turn the passage, the balcony fit does not matter yet. rattanstar tells you to bring cushions in when it rains or snows. Cannes tells you to cover the set in prolonged rain and cold. A balcony with no shed needs a dry cupboard, which the care page explains on how to look after rattan garden furniture. If the L-shape crosses the route, buy the two chairs.

Common questions

Will the rattanstar L-shape fit a balcony?
Only if the clear depth is greater than 126 cm after the door swing and your knees, and you still have 176 cm along the wall. A balcony around 1.2 m deep fails before anyone sits down. Black and brown share the same item dimensions. The colour does not change the chalk.
Is 176 × 126 cm the sofa or the whole set?
It is the item-dimensions line for the rattanstar set, 176 × 126 × 71.1 cm. The bullets also print separate inch sizes for the sofa, the ottoman and the table. Use the centimetre line for the footprint. The depth field that prints 3 is not a measurement you can draw. Cannes is the modular row.
What do I do with Malibu’s 2.05 × 1.39 m?
Chalk 2.05 m by 1.39 m, then chalk it the other way, because reviewers found the lounger on the opposite side from the leaflet. If either rectangle blocks the door, the set does not fit. Ignore the depth note that says 52 and 130 until a unit is printed. The listed 20 kg is two packs, not a small footprint.
Can I get the boxes through a side gate?
Measure the gate and the stair, not only the patio. A common internal door leaf is about 762 mm, and side passages are often tighter. That is Furniture in Fashion’s observation, not a survey of your house. Malibu is two packs. If a box will not turn the passage, the sofa will not either.
Does modular mean it will fit a smaller patio?
It means you can place the Cannes sections separately: a corner, a conversation group, or separated seats. The 175 × 58 cm line is one section, not the whole L. A 58 cm-deep piece can suit a narrow balcony if the other pieces have a home. The corner still needs the return. No review text describes that layout on a small UK balcony.
