Folding dining garden chairs

Updated: 22 October 2026

The table is about 75 cm high, and a folding chair looks right because it stores flat. Folding dining garden chairs only work when the seat meets that table. A printed seat of 19 cm or 35 cm does not, and the kept dining pair prints no seat height. The nine rows are on the [garden chairs comparison](/hub/garden-furniture/garden-chairs). Dining height is a clearance test

Elystra Living pairs tables around 72–75 cm with a seat near 45 cm and about 28–30 cm of clearance. Posh Living puts the seat around 43–48 cm. Lee Longlands uses 25–30 cm to the underside and says to measure the apron, including arms. A useful rule of thumb is 45–50 cm of seat under a table around 71–76 cm. It is not BS EN 581. If the apron is deep, measure to the apron. The Yaheetech pair has armrests, so it may not slide as far under as a chair without arms. A blank height is a reason to measure, not a reason to assume 45 cm.

Seats that fail the table

Harbour Housewares prints 350 mm on four chairs at £44.99. Reviews say the seat is too low for a normal outdoor table. The 4.4 from 3,834 reviews does not repair 35 cm, and the 150 kg line is not stated per chair. #WEJOY prints 18.99 cm at £49.99, and reviewers call it very low. The title says it folds and Is Foldable says No. Straame prints 109 cm, which is not dining height either. The kept folding dining row is Yaheetech, and it does not print the figure this test needs.

The kept folding dining pair

Yaheetech B0CYZZT9PL is two black chairs with armrests at £39.99, 4.7 from 249 reviews, its own pool. Open size is 67 × 58 × 94 cm, seat depth 40 cm, folded size 88.5 × 58 × 5.5 cm. The bullets rate the frame to 100 kg. One review says no heavy person had sat in them yet. None of the kept chairs cites BS EN 581, whose tests use an adult up to 110 kg and skip weathering. Do not derive the seat from 94 cm or from another colour. Measure to the top of the seat and then to the underside of the table. Item weight prints 8.3 kg without saying one chair or the pair.

Weather-resistant is not leave-out

The bullets call the 550 g texteline weather-resistant. A review says to keep the chairs out of bad weather. Follow the review. Mesh can mildew if you fold it damp. The folded size fits a garage shelf once the chairs are dry. If you need a printed seat near 45 cm and chairs meant to stay out, this listing gives neither promise. Bring them in when the forecast turns.

Common questions

What seat height works with a normal patio table?
A retailer rule of thumb is about 45–50 cm of seat under a table around 71–76 cm, with roughly 25–30 cm from the seat to the underside. Elystra cites about 28–30 cm of clearance and tables around 72–75 cm. Measure your apron. Arms on a folding chair can steal some of that gap. The figure is not a British Standard, and it is not printed on the Yaheetech pair.
Why is a 35 cm or 19 cm seat the wrong buy for dining?
Harbour’s 350 mm seat and #WEJOY’s 18.99 cm seat leave you well below the table. Harbour reviews say the seat is too low for a normal outdoor table, and #WEJOY reviewers call the seat very low. Both chairs can be right on grass. They fail lunch, because your knees will not get the gap the height guides describe.
Yaheetech prints no seat height. How do I check fit?
Measure from the floor to the top of the seat, then from the seat to the underside of your table, including the apron and the armrests. The listing gives 67 × 58 × 94 cm overall and a 40 cm seat depth. Overall height is not seat height. Do not borrow a figure from another colour. If the seat is far from 45–50 cm, the pair does not fit this job.
What load does the kept Yaheetech pair state?
The bullets rate the triangular frame to 100 kg. One review says no heavy person had sat in them yet. That line is a seller claim, not a BS EN 581 certificate. The standard’s test basis is an adult up to 110 kg, without a weathering test. If you need a higher stated load, this pair is the wrong shortlist even when the height works.
Can these chairs stay out in bad weather?
The bullets say the texteline is weather-resistant. A review says to keep the chairs out of bad weather. Follow the review for a wet week, and store them dry. A weather-resistant line is not a leave-outside warranty. Fold them only once the mesh is dry.
When should I buy a fixed set instead of a folding pair?
Buy a fixed set when you need a printed seat height near 45 cm and chairs that stay at the table, and a flat fold is not the point. This file does not price those sets. Buy the Yaheetech pair when you want two folding seats, you can live with a 100 kg stated load, and you will measure the seat because the listing does not.
