Kurdistan flag buying guide

Updated: 20 October 2026

You are choosing a Kurdistan flag for a UK garden pole, a balcony, a desk, or a march, and the listing titles all sound alike. The flag is the Alaya Rengîn: red, white, and green bands with a golden sun, red at the top. A 21 cm desk flag, a stick flag, and a 5 ft x 3 ft flying flag do not do the same job. Heinrich W. wrote this Kurdistan flag buying guide from amazon.co.uk listings read on 19 October 2026, not a lab test. Prices sit on the [Kurdistan flag](/hub/flags/kurdistan-flag) comparison. What you are buying

The design is three horizontal bands and a sun in the centre. Institutions put red on top, white in the middle, and green at the bottom, with 21 rays and one ray pointing straight up. Most titles do not state the ray count, so you check the photo. They do not claim a Pantone match. A friendship flag is a different object. The Petite Pine at 60 cm x 90 cm combines a Kurdistan design with a British one, at about £7.99. If you asked for the sun and the three bands alone, that page is the wrong buy. Two AZ FLAG sizes share 4.6 from 7,960 reviews. A note about blue on a Gambia flag is not a defect of this cloth.

Size and fixing

A house pole, a desk, and a crowd each need a different fixing. The Flag Shop and Flag and Bunting Store treat about 5 ft x 3 ft, or 150 cm x 90 cm, as the usual UK house-pole size. The Woiltryn, Runesol, Baseballbat, and the larger AZ FLAG listings are in that class. A 21 cm desk flag will not do the job. A 90 cm x 60 cm flag is for a short pole. A hand flag is a third fixing. The Flagtex is a wooden stick at about £6.99. The Petite Pine pack is titled as 25 at about £8.99, while one bullet says 10. Stick versus garden is on the hand flag versus large flag page. Four eyelets help a flat wall and rattle on a pole if the spare rings are loose.

Cloth and the reverse

The outdoor words are seller claims. AZ FLAG's 100D flags say indoor and occasional outdoor use. Woiltryn says waterproof and fade-resistant. Runesol says weatherproof and UV resistant. A £5 to £10 polyester flag is not a year-round flag in British weather unless you accept a short life. Wear and when to take it down are on the outdoor Kurdistan flag page. Only two listings state the reverse. Woiltryn says a double-sided mirror-image print. The Petite Pine pack says two sides are printed. Everywhere else the field is empty, and one Runesol review says the print is one side only. If the street will see the back, buy a listing that states the reverse. Against a wall, a single-sided print is less of a problem.

What to check on arrival

Open the packet before you trust the title. Red on top with the hoist on the left, white in the middle, green at the bottom, sun in the centre. Titles do not promise 21 rays. Two rings, four rings, or a sleeve should match the fixing you planned. The Baseballbat at about £5.55 never states how many holes it has. A 5.0 from one review is one person. The Runesol's 4.6 from 9,944 is a shared catalogue. The Generisch flag at about £8.33 has no star line. The pack says 25 on the title and 10 on a bullet. A listed building, or a new pole, is not the same rule in every UK nation.

Common questions

Is 5 ft x 3 ft the right garden size?
For a usual UK house pole, yes. About 5 ft x 3 ft, or 150 cm x 90 cm, is the size those shops treat as the match. A 21 cm desk flag will not fill it.
When is 3 ft x 2 ft enough?
When the space is tight: a short pole, a small balcony, or a window where 150 cm would foul the frame. The AZ FLAG at 90 cm x 60 cm is that size, at about £8.75, with two brass eyelets. It shares its 7,960-review line with the larger AZ FLAG, so those stars are not comments on this cloth alone.
Do I need two eyelets or four?
Two on the hoist for a pole. Four corners also let you hang it flat, and spare rings can rattle if you leave them loose. Runesol and the 80 g AZ FLAG have four. Woiltryn and the 100D AZ FLAG flying flags have two. The £3.95 UKFlagShop sleeve is neither: you still need a pole.
What does 100D or 80 g polyester mean outdoors?
100D is denier, not grams per square metre. The 80 g AZ FLAG is the seller's own light polyester wording. UK makers talk about woven polyester around 155 gsm for harder use. None of these listings states that grade. A weatherproof title is a claim, not a winter test.
Will the design show on both sides?
Only where the listing says so. Woiltryn states a double-sided mirror-image print. The Petite Pine pack says two sides are printed. The other rows leave the reverse blank, and one Runesol review says one side only. A blank field is not a mirror print.
Does the amazon star rating describe this exact flag?
Often it does not. Captured review text names other countries' flags, and two AZ FLAG sizes share 4.6 from 7,960. The Runesol's 4.6 from 9,944 is a shared catalogue. Use the stars as a seller-level signal, then read a comment that names this size or this design.
