UV resin buying guide

Updated: 23 October 2026

You already want UV resin rather than a two-part epoxy, and the amazon.co.uk row still looks the same: clear, hard, and fast. This UV resin buying guide is the decision before you pay. Check whether a lamp is in the box, whether the gram line matches the title, and whether the star count belongs to that ASIN. Shelf prices are from this twelve-listing set on 19 October 2026 and will move. The [UV resin comparison](/hub/fillers-adhesives-and-sprays/uv-resin) tables the bottles. This page does not name a winner. Listings were compared, not a lab. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

What you are actually buying

Every bottle in this set is a one-part hard clear UV resin. It stays liquid until ultraviolet light reaches it, so you do not mix a hardener. That suits an open bezel, a small dome, or a thin coat on polymer clay. A coaster or a deep single pour is a poor fit, because the light has to get through the liquid. Deeper pieces and opaque moulds are the split on UV resin vs epoxy. Only two boxes state a lamp: Bsrezn’s 6 W kit at £11.99, with two 100 g bottles, and Craft Resin’s 36 W, 22-LED kit at £16.99. YIEHO’s 500 g bottle at £16.99 and Bsrezn’s 400 g pack at £13.99 arrive without one. Craft Resin’s UK collection describes 365–405 nm and layers of about 2–3 mm. That is brand guidance, not a British Standard.

Lamp first, then millilitres

Decide the lamp before you compare millilitres. Resin Studio’s UK note puts a useful hobby lamp at about 24–48 W. A 6 W lamp and a 36 W lamp are not the same tool. The Bsrezn 6 W kit is 4.4 from 2,429, and reviews split between a workable starter and a lamp that is too small. The Craft Resin 36 W kit is 4.3 from 301, model UV-500g against part number UV-300g, and one review says the lamp would not turn on. Neither file states a BS 1363 plug. UK mains are 230 V. If the plug is not a UK 13 A plug, or the lead is damaged, do not use it. On 19 October 2026, 100 g titles sat at about £7.60–£9 per 100 g, and larger bottles nearer £3–£4 per 100 g. Do not divide a kit by 100 g. The Bsrezn kit’s unit count says 7.05 gram while the included line says two 100 g bottles.

Listing fields that do not agree

VidaRosa’s 100 g at £8.99 and 500 g at £19.99 both show 4.6 from 641. Suzzam’s 100 g at £7.99 and 250 g at £8.99 both show 4.6 from 595. Adding those counts double-counts the same text. YIEHO at 4.6 from 5,434 and Bsrezn 400 g at 4.6 from 3,247 each have their own file. Read the cure field as a string. YIEHO prints 1 minute, Let’s Resin prints 15 minutes, and Bsrezn’s 400 g pack prints 3E+1 minutes. That string looks like spreadsheet notation for 30, and the listing does not say “30 minutes”. Adiwo, £7.59 and 4.2 from 16, has the model line Canalina passacavi adesiva and a volume of 1 cubic centimetre. VORTHYLA is 4.7 from 63 at £15.98, model VA005 against part number RA005. If the bottle is not what the title described, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 covers goods not as described.

What not to take from a bullet

Odourless, food-safe, anti-yellowing, and a hardness number such as 80D or 86D are bullets, not measurements in this file. Craft Resin 500 g, £14.99 and 3.9 from 1,106, claims 85D and food-safe, with model number UV-300g and no safety data sheet for that line. Almost every listing says not water resistant. Only Let’s Resin, £18.99 and 4.6 from 3,772, has a water-resistant field, and that is not a shower test. Great Britain uses GB CLP, overseen by the Health and Safety Executive. Northern Ireland uses EU CLP. Read the label on the bottle you receive. None of these bottles is shown here to be safe for a child to mouth.

Common questions

Do I need a lamp in the box?
You need a lamp in the house, not necessarily in the box. Ten of these listings are resin only. Buy a kit if you have nothing in the 365–405 nm range Craft Resin describes. Prefer the 36 W kit over the 6 W kit for a small jewellery piece, and still check the plug. A nail lamp can cover a thin coat and will leave a thick pour soft in the middle.
Is a 100 g bottle cheaper once you look per 100 g?
Usually no. In this set the 100 g titles cost about £7.60–£9 per 100 g, while several larger bottles sit around £3–£4 per 100 g. Suzzam 250 g at £8.99 is already in that lower band. A first thin test is the exception, because a small bottle wastes less if you dislike the result. Do not divide a kit by resin mass. The lamp is part of the price.
Why do two pack sizes show the same review count?
Amazon has attached one review block to two ASINs. VidaRosa’s 100 g and 500 g listings share 4.6 from 641. Suzzam’s 100 g and 250 g listings share 4.6 from 595. The stars are a shared file, not proof that each size was reviewed on its own. YIEHO’s 5,434 and the Bsrezn 400 g pack’s 3,247 are separate files.
What if the model number does not match the title?
Treat the listing as unsettled until the parcel proves otherwise. Adiwo’s model line is a cable-duct name and the volume is 1 cubic centimetre, against a 100 g title at £7.59. VORTHYLA’s model and part number disagree, and reviewers describe other pack sizes than the 500 g title. If the goods are not as described, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 is the consumer route.
Is a one-minute cure field a promise for a thick pour?
No. YIEHO prints 1 minute, and a UK review still used a nail lamp for about two minutes on a section. Let’s Resin prints 15 minutes. Bsrezn’s 400 g field is the unreadable string 3E+1 minutes. A one-minute line is a claim about a thin clear layer the light can reach, not a 1 cm pendant.
Does water resistant mean I can wear the piece in the shower?
Only Let’s Resin’s field says water resistant, and that is a catalogue line, not a wear test. The other listings in this set say not water resistant, including YIEHO and the large Bsrezn and VidaRosa bottles. A pendant you will get wet is outside what these fields prove. Read the water line on the ASIN you buy, and do not copy it from a sibling size.
Can I treat a food-safe bullet as approval?
No. Craft Resin 500 g prints a food-safe bullet and there is no data sheet for it in this file. Cured hobby resin is not food-contact approved unless the documentation says so. Read the CLP label, keep uncured resin off skin with nitrile gloves, and ventilate. Hardness bullets such as 80D or 86D are claims, not a lab result.
