Yale Conexis vs Nuki

Updated: 16 October 2026

You have narrowed a UK front door to Yale’s lift-to-lock handle or to a Nuki, and the search still treats three boxes as one product. Each does a different mechanical job. Yale Conexis vs Nuki, in the listings we captured, is a handle replacement, a retrofit that keeps your cylinder, or a new cylinder in the box. Prices and review counts are from our [smart door lock](/hub/electronic-surveillance/smart-door-lock) comparison on 15 October 2026. The Products Compared editorial team did not laboratory-test the locks. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. Nightlatch keypads and the £40 fingerprint levers stay on the main comparison.

Three jobs, not one shortlist

Start with the door. If you lock a PVC or composite door by lifting the handle, and you do not need an outside keyhole, the job is a handle replacement. The Yale Conexis L2 in this set is stated for that door, at 44–70 mm. If a euro cylinder and the keys you already had cut must stay, the job is a retrofit. The Nuki Smart Lock Pro turns that cylinder from the inside. If a new cylinder and new keys are acceptable to you and to your insurer, the job is a replacement. The Nuki Smart Lock Ultra ships with a universal cylinder. The insurance check that follows a new cylinder is on smart lock home insurance.

What each box contains and what it costs

The Conexis ASIN here is £188.98. The included line lists the lock, a Wi-Fi Connect bridge, a key tag, a key card, and a fixing pack. On 15 October 2026 the amazon.co.uk score was 3.5 from 129 reviews, the lowest star rating in this comparison among listings that have a review line. The Pro is a raw £229.00, at 4.3 from 1,190 reviews. The Ultra is £309.00, at 4.5 from 663 reviews, the highest star rating in the set. The box holds the lock, a universal cylinder, a mounting plate, a charging cable, and a black cover. No British Standard number is printed on that listing.

How you lock it, and what happens to the key

On the Conexis you lock by lifting the handle until the motor stops. Unlocking is the app, a tag, or a card. The compatible lift-to-lock setup has no outside keyhole. On the Pro the key stays in the cylinder, on the inside. With the inside key inserted, a key on the outside must still operate the lock. The compatibility guide limits that key to about 4 mm thick and 37 mm of protrusion. The sequence is on how to fit a smart door lock. On the Ultra the old keys retire with the old cylinder.

Which to buy, with the condition

Choose the Conexis L2 when you have confirmed a lift-to-lock PVC or composite door of 44–70 mm, you want no outside keyhole, and you want the bridge in this ASIN. Choose the Nuki Pro when the cylinder must stay, the two-key test passes, and the key is inside the 4 mm and 37 mm limits. Choose the Ultra only when a new cylinder is acceptable and the insurer has answered in writing. The listing does not name BS 3621 or TS 007. Allianz still says ask first. If none of the three matches, the wider test is the smart door lock buying guide.

Common questions

Which one fits a lift-to-lock uPVC door with no outside keyhole?
The Yale Conexis L2, when the door is PVC or composite, 44–70 mm thick, and you already lock it by lifting the handle. This ASIN includes the Wi-Fi bridge, at £188.98. You still lift the handle to lock. A Nuki needs a euro cylinder to turn, which this handle set often does not offer the Pro.
Which one leaves my cylinder and my keys alone?
The Nuki Pro. It retrofits the euro cylinder you have, and the included line is the lock only. The inside key stays in the cylinder, so you keep the cylinder and the keys, with a key parked on the inside. The outside key has to work while that inside key is inserted.
Which one gives me a new cylinder and new keys?
The Nuki Ultra. The box includes a universal euro cylinder, a mounting plate, a charging cable, and a black cover, at £309.00. Extra keys cost more because the cylinder is new. Ask the insurer in writing before you remove the cylinder the policy describes. The bullets do not name BS 3621 or TS 007.
Can the app throw the multipoint hooks on a Conexis?
You throw them by lifting the handle until the motor stops. That is Yale’s instruction, and Which? describes lift-to-lock the same way: the locking action stays in your hand. The app, a key tag, or a key card unlocks. If you wanted the phone to lock the door without that lift, this handle is the wrong product. A Nuki turns a cylinder, which is a different mechanism.
Which listing includes Wi-Fi without an extra box?
The Nuki Pro and the Nuki Ultra both state built-in Wi-Fi, and neither includes a separate bridge. The Ultra adds the cylinder and the charging cable. The Conexis reaches Wi-Fi through the Connect bridge. On this ASIN the bridge is in the box, so you are not buying it later, and you are still fitting a second device.
Do I tell the insurer if I choose the Ultra?
Yes. Write before you remove the cylinder, and keep the reply. The Ultra replaces the euro cylinder. Allianz’s public guidance is that many insurers still expect a traditional BS 3621 lock alongside a smart lock, and that you tell them before a fit. The Pro leaves the cylinder in place, and you still ask.
