CCTV system with monitor: what to check first

Updated: 23 October 2026

You are comparing kits that all show a screen on the box, and you need the claims that survive the specification table. A CCTV system with monitor, in this set, means the recorder and the display arrive together. The four amazon.co.uk captures on the [security camera with monitor comparison](/hub/electronic-surveillance/security-camera-with-monitor) are an Andoer set at £149.99, ANNKE sets at £169.99 and £209.99, and a Hiseeu set at £299.99, taken on 20 October 2026. A same-day search showed the £169.99 ANNKE at £149.99 against that RRP, so recheck the shelf price. This page is the checklist, not a ranking.

What a security camera with a monitor includes

Installer guides often start with a recorder, a hard drive, a cable and a separate HDMI screen. That list does not match these four listings. The Andoer includes a 7-inch LCD. The two-camera ANNKE, B0C9LVVS8D, includes a 7-inch IPS touchscreen. The four-camera ANNKE, B0H2GRMS3X, includes a 7-inch touchscreen. The Hiseeu includes a 10-inch monitor on the recorder, and the listing says you do not need a separate television. Seven inches shows that a camera is alive at the recorder. It is a weak way to study a face from the sofa.

Cameras in the box, not the channel count

Count the cameras in the parts list, not the channel claim. The Andoer describes one 720p camera and also claims up to four. One UK review says extra cameras cannot be bought separately. The two-camera ANNKE lists two 3MP cameras on a four-channel recorder. The four-camera ANNKE fills its four channels. The Hiseeu highlight says four PTZ cameras and ten channels, while the included-components line says only “camera”. Three views on day one drops the Andoer and the two-camera kit. Power over Ethernet and battery cameras are on the wireless or wired page.

A socket at every camera

On these four captures, wireless means the picture travels by radio. The camera is still corded. The Andoer monitor battery is for the screen, not the camera. Both ANNKE kits and the Hiseeu are listed as corded electric. The Hiseeu line that also says Ethernet and Wi-Fi is not Power over Ethernet. An Andoer reviewer said the camera lead was too short. The four-camera ANNKE includes five power adapters, for four cameras plus the recorder. No listing states a BS 1363 plug or an IP code. Weatherproof wording is a claim. A new spur is an electrician’s job.

Storage you can hold, not a day-count

None of these four listings states retention in days. Do not paste a generic day-count onto a 64 GB card. The Andoer card is not included, up to 32 GB. The two-camera ANNKE includes 64 GB. The four-camera ANNKE includes 128 GB and says recording time varies. The Hiseeu states 1 TB, the only hard drive in the set. Reviews that mention a 3 TB drive are other variants.

The table, the screen, then the phone

Buy the table when it disagrees with the title. Andoer is 720p in both. The two-camera ANNKE table says 3MP (2304×1296). The four-camera title says 5MP and the table says 3MP at 15 frames per second. The Hiseeu title says 5MP and the table says 1440p. Night range is stated, not measured: Andoer 49 ft, both ANNKE kits up to 100 ft, Hiseeu colour night to 65 ft. Alerts need a network. If the lens will see a pavement, the duties are on the neighbours and privacy page.

Common questions

How many cameras are actually in the box?
Count the cameras in the parts list or the highlight, not the channel number. The Andoer describes one 720p camera. The £169.99 ANNKE lists two 3MP cameras. The £209.99 ANNKE lists four. The Hiseeu highlight says four PTZ cameras, while the included-components line says only “camera”. A four-channel or ten-channel recorder does not add those cameras to the parcel.
Does wireless mean I do not need a socket?
No. On all four captures the camera is corded, and the radio carries the picture. The Andoer monitor battery does not power the camera. Both ANNKE kits and the Hiseeu are listed as corded electric. A battery camera, or a Power over Ethernet camera, is a different design and is not one of these four boxes.
Is the memory card or hard drive included?
The Andoer card is sold separately, up to 32 GB. The two-camera ANNKE includes 64 GB. The four-camera ANNKE includes 128 GB. The Hiseeu listing states a 1 TB drive. None of the four says how many days that media lasts, so a day-count from another guide does not transfer to these cards.
Why does the title say 5MP when the table disagrees?
The four-camera ANNKE title says 5MP and the table says 3MP (2304×1296). The Hiseeu title says 5MP and the table says 1440p. Use the table. The Andoer title and table both say 720p, and the two-camera ANNKE table says 3MP, so those two rows do not have this clash.
Can I add cameras later because there are spare channels?
Only if a compatible camera is sold and the spare channels are real. The Andoer claims four channels, and one UK review says extra cameras are not sold separately. The two-camera ANNKE has four channels and two cameras in the box. The four-camera ANNKE fills its four channels. The Hiseeu lists ten channels against four cameras in the highlight, with an incomplete parts line.
What should I check about night vision and weather?
Read the stated range, then look for an IP code. Andoer states 49 ft of infrared. Both ANNKE kits state up to 100 ft. Hiseeu states colour night to 65 ft. No IP code is printed on any of the four, so outdoor wording stays a claim. If the lens will also see a shared path, the privacy page is the next read.
