Best Gira switch

Updated: October 2026

A search for a Gira switch on amazon.co.uk looks like one product and returns four different jobs. The best Gira switch, among the four saved listings, is the article that matches the circuit and the box you already have, not the row with the most stars. One of them is a flush insert, one is an intermediate surface switch, one is a rocker plus a Schuko socket, and one is a wireless Hue control. This page walks the four saved files only. The prices in the [Gira switch comparison](/hub/electrical-equipment/gira-switch) are the saved file prices: £21.03, £21.02, £39.22 and £63.88.

Four listings, four jobs

The flush push insert is model 012600, ASIN B001JP8PCK, at £21.03 in the saved file. The wall-mounted rocker is model 010730, ASIN B000ONPLCU, at £21.02. The vertical combination is model 417630, ASIN B0CFVZC9BG, at £39.22. The anthracite wireless control is model 100158, ASIN B084NXWKMH, at £63.88, with Senic in the brand field and Gira in the title. The Hue file has 4.5 from 156 reviews. The combination has 4.6 from 5. The two £21 files have no star line at all. A missing star line is not a hidden high score. Circuit names sit on the Gira switch buying guide.

The £21 pair

012600 and 010730 cost almost the same in the saved files and do not do the same work. 012600 is the flush insert. The catalogue sheet calls it a touch insert for 1-way and 2-way, 10 AX, 28 mm deep, with a lamp note of 100 W LEDi/CFLi, and it says the article has not been deliverable since September 2024. The amazon.co.uk technical table still prints Wi-Fi, Touch, IP54 and 2,500 W next to push switch, screw terminal and 28 mm. Those extra lines are in the file. They are not the sheet. 010730 is the other £21 article. The title says cross joint and water-protected. The en-GB sheet says intermediate switch, IP44 surface programme, grey, 10 AX. The Amazon table says 1-way. Believe the sheet.

The Schuko combination

417630 is the listing people reach for when they want a switch and a socket on one plate. The saved file is a vertical rocker plus a Schuko socket, 16 A, 250 V, hinged lid in the title, grey in the title, £39.22. The connector line says SCHUKO. Plug type says no plug. A UK 13 A plug does not mate with Schuko. The star line is 4.6 out of 5 from 5 reviews. The three texts in the file are marked Germany. They say top, Gira quality and delivery, and super. None are marked United Kingdom.

The Hue control, briefly

The £63.88 listing is not a mains isolator and it should not win a lighting-circuit comparison. The saved file says no terminals, IP20, Zigbee, Apple HomeKit and Philips Hue. Two of the texts are marked United Kingdom. One mentions no coin battery and a satisfying click. The other says it works and is very expensive. The brand field says Senic, model 100158, while the title also says Gira. Item type is printed as Blender and the included-components line as Televiseur. Those two fields are listing errors, not the contents of the box. This control is the one to look at when the lamps are already Hue and you want another wall position without touching the 230 V switch.

Prices and stars you can actually use

Use the saved prices when you compare these four, and check the live basket before you pay, because a search snippet has already disagreed with the files. £21.03 and £21.02 are not a matched pair. They are an insert and an intermediate surface switch. £39.22 buys the Schuko combination, not a BS 1363 socket. £63.88 buys the Hue control, not a higher-rated mains switch. None of these numbers is a lab result.

Common questions

Which listing is the middle switch of three?
Model 010730, at £21.02 in the saved file. The catalogue calls it the intermediate switch in the grey IP44 surface programme. The Amazon title says cross joint. The Amazon table says 1-way. Follow the sheet if the circuit is bottom, middle and top. Do not buy it as a spare 1-way for a single room, and do not clip it onto a flush insert.
Does the £39.22 unit take a UK plug?
No. 417630 is a rocker plus a Schuko socket. The Amazon connector line says SCHUKO, and the Gira text puts that socket in the IP44 surface programme. A British 13 A plug does not mate with Schuko. The BS 1363 article in Gira’s catalogue is a different number and it is not one of these four listings. A hinged lid does not change the pin pattern.
Is the £63.88 unit a mains light switch?
No. The saved file says no terminals. It is a wireless Hue control, brand field Senic, title also Gira, model 100158. It does not isolate a 230 V lighting circuit. Two UK review texts mention the click, the lack of a coin battery, and the price. Replacing the hard-wired switch is a different job from mounting this control.
Why is there no single best?
Because the four files are four articles. A star sort would crown the Hue control, which does not switch the mains, or lean on 4.6 from five German-marked texts. Match the insert to a flush opening, the intermediate to a three-position surface circuit, the combination only where Schuko is what you use, and the Hue control only where Hue is already installed.
Can I trust the 4.6 from five reviews?
You can trust it as the star line on that amazon.co.uk file, and no further. Five reviews is a thin sample. The three texts saved with it are marked Germany, not the United Kingdom, and they do not describe how the socket was used. They are not a UK fault rate, and they are not a test of a British plug.
