Worx PowerShare drill battery: one 20 V pack

Updated: October 2026

The mower battery is on the shelf and the drill says PowerShare. A Worx PowerShare drill battery in this amazon.co.uk set is one 20 V pack in one bay. A second pack in a kit is a spare. Two packs on a mower are what make that mower 40 V. The Products Compared editorial team checked the listings on 15 October 2026. We did not measure runtime. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. The [Worx cordless drill comparison](/hub/drilling-and-accessories/worx-cordless-drill) shows which ASINs include packs. If a UK pack already clicks in, a bare body can use it. If the shed has none, buy a kit.

One pack runs the drill

Every 20 V drill here takes one pack at a time. The WX370.1, the WX902, the WX352, and the WX354 include two 2.0 Ah packs. The WX355.1 and the WX391 include one. The WX370.9, the WX352.9, and the WX381.9 include none. A two-battery kit is therefore not a 40 V drill. The WX370 manual calls the system 18 V nominal and 20 V Max at the initial voltage. The WX902's combi and impact driver still share the packs one tool at a time. A spare pack does not raise the voltage. Check the included-components line on the Worx cordless drill buying guide, because a highlight and a table sometimes disagree.

What stacking is for

Stacking is how Worx builds garden tools from 20 V packs. UK mower pages describe 40 V machines sold with two batteries, and an 80 V description that uses four 20 V packs. A drill listing here never fits two packs at once. If the mower is a 40 V PowerShare model, each pack is still a 20 V unit. Click one onto the drill and it runs as a 20 V tool. The fit these listings describe is the UK and European pack. CEENR, reporting Worx's regional split, says US packs are physically different and do not connect to UK and European tools. Do not buy a .com battery on the hope that it clicks. These listings do not print the plug face, so confirm a BS 1363 plug. A 240.0 cell on the WX370.1 table conflicts with the 20 V title.

2.0 Ah and a larger pack

These kits use 2.0 Ah packs, such as WA3551.1 on the WX352. More amp-hours buy a longer stretch of work, not a higher voltage. There is no measured runtime here showing a 4.0 Ah pack lasting twice as long, so that multiple stays unclaimed. On the WX355.1 the single 2.0 Ah pack fades in continuous hammer mode. When checked, the Worx UK batteries page listed a 2.0 Ah pack at £31.99. An earlier source listed a 5.0 Ah Pro at £74.99. Use the live UK price on the day. WX352.9 reviewers say the body feels heavy and poorly balanced with a big battery fitted. Which body to put it on is the conditional choice on the best Worx cordless drill page.

Bare tool or kit

A .9 body costs less only when the pack you own is already a UK PowerShare pack. On 15 October 2026 the WX370.9 was £47.50, against £76.94 for the WX370.1 with two 2.0 Ah batteries and a charger. If the mower pack clicks in and holds a charge, the body-only price is the one that matters. The WX370.9 is the best value on that condition. A bare listing has no charger either. The Worx UK WX352.9 page says the body works with all PowerShare batteries. That page also printed a five-year tool warranty if you register within 30 days, and two years on packs. Do not copy those years onto every ASIN. Read the listing you buy. Hammer versus chisel, once the pack fits, is on the Worx combi drill vs SDS page.

Common questions

Will a battery from a Worx mower fit the drill?
A UK or European PowerShare pack from a Worx mower or trimmer is what these 20 V drills use. The drill takes one pack at a time, including one pack from a pair that normally makes a mower 40 V. Click it in before you rely on it. A US Worx pack is a separate case and should not be assumed to fit.
Does the drill take one pack or two?
One pack runs the drill. Two 2.0 Ah batteries in a kit are a spare, not a second bay. The WX902's two tools still share those packs one at a time. You swap when the working pack fades. Nothing in this set turns the drill into a 40 V tool because two packs were in the box.
If the kit includes two batteries, is the drill 40 V?
No. The drill stays on the 20 V system, 18 V nominal and 20 V Max in the manual's wording. 40 V on a Worx mower is two packs fitted to that mower. The 80 V mower description uses four 20 V packs. These drill listings do not install two packs at once.
Is a 4.0 Ah pack twice as long as a 2.0 Ah on these drills?
More amp-hours are how you buy a longer working time, not a higher voltage. We have no measurement on these drills that shows a 4.0 Ah pack lasting twice as long, so that claim stays off the page. Reviewers do say a 2.0 Ah pack fades in continuous hammer mode on the WX355.1, and that a large pack can unbalance the WX352.9.
What is the point of a bare .9 tool?
You buy the WX370.9, the WX352.9, or the WX381.9 so you are not paying again for packs already on a mower or trimmer. The WX370.9 was £47.50 without packs, against £76.94 for the two-battery WX370.1. The saving goes if you still need a pack and a charger. The WX370.9's UK write-up sample is a single text.
Can you use a US Worx battery, and what does a UK spare cost?
Do not fit a US pack because a .com listing looks similar. CEENR reports that Worx treats those packs as physically different from UK and European ones. Buy the spare on a UK shop. When checked, the Worx UK batteries page listed a 2.0 Ah pack at £31.99. An earlier source listed a 5.0 Ah Pro at £74.99, so confirm the live price, and confirm the charger has a BS 1363 plug.
