Worx cordless drill buying guide: box, voltage, masonry

Updated: October 2026

You have several Worx 20 V drills open on amazon.co.uk, and the titles look almost the same. This Worx cordless drill buying guide is the checklist before you pay. It does not crown a winner. The Products Compared editorial team read the listings on 15 October 2026, plus Worx UK pages and the WX370 manual table. We did not run a lab test. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. Manufacturer pages that day showed different bundle prices, so compare the amazon shelf and name the shop. The [Worx cordless drill comparison](/hub/drilling-and-accessories/worx-cordless-drill) keeps the ten-listing table. Check the box, then the voltage words, then the masonry line.

What you are actually buying

Three kinds of listing sit in this set. A combi kit has a 13 mm chuck. An SDS listing is a rotary hammer in joules, even when the title says hammer. Open the included-components line before you compare torque. On the WX370.1 that line names the drill, two 2.0 Ah batteries, a fast charger, a carry bag, and a double-ended bit. The WX355.1 highlight says one 2.0 Ah battery, a charger, and a case. Its components line names only a battery charger and a drill attachment. The WX370 bit-kit highlight lists two 2.0 Ah batteries, a charger, and 30 bits. Its table line names only the charger. The WX902 is a WX370 and a WX291 impact driver, not one drill with a 170 Nm chuck. If the highlight and the components line disagree, treat the box as unconfirmed. A conditional recommendation lives on the best Worx cordless drill page.

Batteries in the box

Count the packs before you rank newton-metres. The WX370.1 includes two 2.0 Ah batteries. The WX355.1 highlight includes one. The WX370.9, the WX352.9, and the WX381.9 include none. On 15 October 2026 amazon showed £47.50, £76.94, £83.99, and £89 for the WX370.9, WX370.1, WX352.9, and WX355.1. Worx UK showed £65.99 and £103.99 for bundles the same day, so name the shop. A .9 body is the right buy when a UK PowerShare pack and a charger already run your other Worx tools. It is a poor first buy when the shed is empty. Two 2.0 Ah batteries are a working pack and a spare, not a heavier drill. How one pack and a 40 V mower fit together is on the Worx PowerShare drill battery page.

18 V and 20 V Max

The WX370 manual says nominal voltage is 18 V and 20 V Max is the pack's initial voltage. The WX352.9 table says 18 V and the item type says 18V (20V MAX). That is one PowerShare family, not two systems you must keep apart. The WX370.1 table also prints 240.0 and 20 W. Those cells conflict with the 20 V title. The drill is not a 240 V mains tool, and 20 W is not a torque figure. On the WX381.9, leave 1.35 rpm, 2 Nm, and 2 mAh unused. If a cell's unit does not match the rest of the page, it is not a specification you can take to the wall.

Masonry millimetres and the charger plug

A WX370 marketing bullet says masonry 10 mm. A capacity line on the family pages says masonry 13 mm. The 50 Nm column of the manual table also lists masonry 13 mm. The amazon bullets on the WX370.1 in this set say 10 mm. The WX902 table's 8 mm wood and 6 mm metal stay unusable, because they conflict with usual WX370 wording. The 170 Nm on that kit is the driver. SDS work sits on the Worx combi drill vs SDS page. These listings do not print the charger plug, so confirm a BS 1363 plug. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 9, a bare tool sold as a kit is a different problem from small 2.0 Ah packs.

Common questions

What must be in the box before you click buy?
Read the included-components line on the exact ASIN. A two-battery kit should name two packs and a charger. A .9 body should say both are absent. Where a highlight and the components line disagree, as on the WX355.1 and the WX370 bit kit, do not assume the longer list arrives. Keep a copy of the line you relied on.
Is 20V Max a different battery from 18V on the same listing?
On these drills, 18 V nominal and 20 V Max are the same PowerShare pack. The manual treats 20 V Max as the initial voltage. You do not need a second system when a listing prints both. A table cell that says 240 V is a conflict, not a mains drill.
Is masonry 10 mm or 13 mm on the WX370?
Both figures are in print, on different lines. A marketing bullet says 10 mm. A capacity line, and the manual's 50 Nm column, says 13 mm. The WX370.1 bullets in this set say 10 mm. Keep the sources apart, and do not merge them into a single hole size.
When is a .9 body the right purchase?
Buy a WX370.9, WX352.9, or WX381.9 when a PowerShare battery and charger already work on your other tools. The WX370.9 was £47.50 on 15 October 2026, against £76.94 for the two-battery WX370.1. If you still need packs, price them before you call the body a saving. The WX370.9 UK sample is one text.
Why does one amazon table say 240 V?
The WX370.1 table prints 240.0 and 20 W beside a 20 V PowerShare title. Those cells conflict with the cordless description. Do not treat the drill as a 240 V appliance. Use the 20 V line, and ignore the watt cell as well.
Does a combi replace an SDS if the title says hammer?
A hammer setting is for masonry bits in brick and block, inside the capacity that listing states. The title does not turn it into an SDS. Concrete as the main job, a lintel, or chasing points to the WX391 or the WX381.9. The Slammer's 10 mm claim is still a 13 mm chuck.
Is the extra warranty year automatic?
No. Where the listing says three years, or a 2+1 line, the extra year depends on registration, often within 30 days. Miss that window and you are on the shorter period in the same line. Years printed on one bare-tool page do not transfer to every other ASIN.
