Einhell combi drill without a battery

Updated: 2026-10-23

The body-only price looks like the bargain until you remember the shelf in the garage. An Einhell combi drill without a battery will not drill anything until a Power X-Change pack and a charger are already yours, or until you buy them as a second transaction. In this amazon.co.uk set the stickers run from £44 for a kit with one 2.5 Ah pack to £96.95 for a 120 Nm body with nothing to power it. This page is the carton arithmetic: which rows include cells, what a Solo price leaves out, and the kit whose amp-hour lines disagree. The [Einhell combi drill comparison](/hub/drilling-and-accessories/einhell-combi-drill) is the full table. Figures are the listing prices from 19 October 2026. What Solo means on these listings

Solo means the battery and the charger are separate. Four bodies list neither: the £53.95 TE-CD 18/50 Solo, part 4513942, with no chuck size printed; the £76.95 compact 50 Nm; the £76.98 80 Nm; and the £96.95 120 Nm. Kits that do include cells are £44 with one 2.5 Ah pack, £75 with two 2.0 Ah packs and a case, £89.95 with one 2.5 Ah pack and bits, and £110 with two 2.0 Ah packs and a bit set. If the components line names no battery, the drill will not start.

If you own no Power X-Change pack

If you own no pack, start from a kit. £44 buys a 44 Nm drill, one 2.5 Ah pack and a charger. £75 buys a 50 Nm drill, two 2.0 Ah packs, a charger and a case, with the chuck conflict on the best Einhell combi drill page. The £53.95 Solo is cheaper than £75 only as a body. Einhell’s PXC+ 18 V 5–8 Ah Multi battery is listed at £114.95 including VAT, more than either sticker. This page does not invent a price for a loose 2.0 Ah pack. Two 2.0 Ah packs let one charge while you keep working. One 2.5 Ah pack is a single cell. The £44 kit lists no case. The £75, £89.95 and £110 kits do. The buying guide covers the plug and the chuck once the carton is settled.

If you already own packs

If a Power X-Change 18 V pack is already charged, a Solo can be the rational buy. Einhell’s UK battery page says packs from 1.5 Ah to 8 Ah are shared across that family. A Bosch, DeWalt or Makita pack is not part of that claim. UK reviews of the £53.95 Solo say people ran it on cells they already owned, including a 5 Ah. There is still no printed chuck size, so 13 mm is an assumption. The clutch is described as very loud at the preset. The 80 Nm and 120 Nm bodies are the same logic for heavier work, and only if the packs are already owned. The compact 50 Nm has 27 reviews. A 10-year line is the motor only.

The kit that disagrees with itself

Part 4514208 at £113.95 lists two 2.0 Ah batteries and a charger in included components, plus a side handle and a storage hook. A bullet says two 4 Ah batteries, a case and a stainless-steel tank that belongs to another product. Believe the components line. It also costs more than the £75 two-pack, which states two 2.0 Ah packs without that clash. Count the packs when the parcel arrives. If you wanted 4 Ah for certain, this ASIN is the wrong place to expect it.

Common questions

Which of these nine are body only?
Four listings are body only: the £53.95 TE-CD 18/50 Solo, the £76.95 compact 50 Nm, the £76.98 80 Nm Solo and the £96.95 120 Nm Solo. None lists a battery, a charger or a case. The £113.95 row is a kit with a contradiction, not a Solo. The £44, £75, £89.95 and £110 rows all name at least one battery and a charger.
Is the £53.95 Solo cheaper than the £75 kit if I own no packs?
Not as a drill you can use. £53.95 is the body. The £75 kit includes two 2.0 Ah packs, a charger and an S35 case. Einhell’s own 5–8 Ah Multi battery at £114.95 is already more than either sticker. If you own no packs, start from £44 or £75.
Will my mower battery fit?
It will fit if it is an Einhell 18 V Power X-Change pack. Einhell’s battery page describes 1.5 Ah to 8 Ah packs as shared inside that family, including many of the brand’s garden tools. A Bosch, DeWalt or other-brand pack is not part of that claim. If the mower is a different platform, do not force the slide.
Does Solo include a case?
Not on these four bodies. Included components stop at the drill, plus a belt clip on the compact 50 Nm and a side handle on the 80 Nm listing. The £75, £89.95 and £110 kits list a case. The £44 kit does not. Do not rely on a review mention of a case for the £113.95 kit, because the components line does not list one.
When is a kit the wrong buy because I already have cells?
A kit is the wrong buy when its packs duplicate healthy packs you already own. That is when the £53.95 Solo, or the 80 Nm and 120 Nm bodies, can cost less than another two-pack. It is still the wrong buy if you need a printed chuck size the £53.95 listing does not give, or if you have no charger.
