Best polystyrene sheets in this set

Updated: 23 October 2026

You want one pack, and the titles all say polystyrene. The best polystyrene sheets here are the ones that match a job you can name: a run of 25 mm bead board, a thin EPS packer, a paper-faced mount, a print plate, or a small block. The [polystyrene sheets comparison](/hub/diy-supplies/polystyrene-sheets) holds six amazon.co.uk listings with prices in pounds. This page says who each pack is for and who should skip it. It does not teach the cut, and it does not specify a shed build-up. The Products Compared editorial team used those listings and the reviews on them, on 22 October 2026. There is no lab test. Read the stars before the packs

Best here means best in this set for that job, not every sheet on sale in the UK. Three Triplast rows show 4.6 from 345 reviews, and the listings carry the same review text. That is one pool, not three tests of 10 mm, of the small 25 mm sheets, and of the 1200 x 600 mm sheets. Shared comments mention a shed, a summerhouse, packing, a messy cut, white sheets that are not like dense blue or pink foam, and damaged outer boards. One review title names the 25-sheet, 600 x 400 mm size. A remark that a sheet felt very thin is not a measurement of the 10 mm listing alone. WYIPOLZI is 4.6 from 3. SuQurtom is 4.4 from 3. Safeprint is 4.1 from 10, with one written review. Families sit on the polystyrene sheets buying guide.

Top pick for 25 mm area

The top pick is the Triplast 12-pack, part TPPS1206025012, at £47.79. The listing says the sheets are made in the United Kingdom, and the coverage matches the stated size: 8.64 m². Three Triplast rows share a score of 86, and this pack has the most 25 mm area, which is why it takes the mark. Reviewers in the pool use white sheet for lining, then mention the mess of cutting. The BBA line names BS EN 13163:2012 and gives no certificate number. Lambda is a range, 0.038–0.030 W/mK, on white sheet, so do not quote 0.030 as this board.

Best value and the smaller 25 mm pack

The best value EPS pack is ten sheets at 600 x 400 x 10 mm, part TPPS0604010010, at £16.89, the lowest Triplast price in the listings used here. The coverage line says 2.58 square feet. Ten sheets at 600 x 400 mm are 2.4 m², so ignore the coverage line and measure. A later view showed £14.34. The middle row is twenty-five sheets at 600 x 400 x 25 mm for £37.49. It scores 86, the coverage line is a phrase rather than an area, and a long run means more joints. If you wanted dense blue or pink foam, the EPS vs XPS page is the reset.

Mounting, printing, and a small block

The WYIPOLZI 16-pack is A3 foam board at 5 mm for £14.99, made in China. A UK review says polystyrene is the core and the face is paper. Three ratings cannot tell you how often that face fails. Safeprint is fifty sheets at 16.5 cm square for £17.99. You impress a printing plate with a blunt tool. Thickness is not on the amazon.co.uk listing. Do not treat a non-toxic question as a test. The SuQurtom five-pack is £12.59. A reviewer measured 28.9 x 20 x 2 cm against a title of 30 x 20 x 2 cm and a spec line of 6 x 4 cm, with dents and rolled corners. Outer pieces were good on one side only. One bullet says closed-cell XPS and there is no grade in kPa. The score is 76. A merchant sheet at 2400 x 1200 mm, a 50 mm pack, and a specified XPS grade are not in this set.

Common questions

Which pack is the top pick, and for what job?
The top pick is twelve Triplast sheets of 1200 x 600 x 25 mm EPS 70 at £47.79, covering 8.64 m². It wins a three-way score tie on area, not on a lab test. It suits a lining or a packaging job you can cut down. It is still not a 50 mm stud fill, a stated U-value, or a review count that belongs only to this size.
Which pack is the best value, and why is 10 mm not a shed wall?
The best value is ten sheets at 600 x 400 x 10 mm for £16.89, the lowest EPS price in the listings used here. You get real bead board. Ageas’s shed example is 50 mm in a 75 mm stud, or thinner only if the frame is shallower. Ten millimetres will not do that job. A later view of the same pack showed £14.34.
Can you trust 345 reviews on every Triplast size?
You can trust that the three listings copy one pool. The same 4.6 from 345 and the same text appear on each Triplast ASIN here. A review can describe another size. One title names the 25-sheet, 600 x 400 mm pack, which is a label inside the pool, not a separate star line.
Is the A3 foam board for photos or for insulation?
It is for mounting and small models. The face is paper over a polystyrene core, 5 mm, sixteen sheets at £14.99. A review says glue bonds at once, so lifting a print tears that face. It will not fill a shed stud, and paper-faced board is a poor outdoor sheet. Three ratings cannot show how often the face tears.
Is Safeprint an insulation sheet?
No. It is fifty squares at 16.5 cm for block printing and miniatures, at £17.99. Thickness is not stated. One written UK review, from 31 December 2025, mentions miniatures. The other nine ratings have no text in the listing. The sheet is a plate, not a wall board.
Should you buy the £12.59 five-pack for carving?
Only if you will measure it and you can spare damaged faces. A reviewer found about 28.9 x 20 x 2 cm, not the 6 x 4 cm spec line. The XPS wording has no kPa grade. It might suit a small sculpture. It is not a trade XPS sheet, and it is not a floor board.
