Wool removal blanket or quilted pad

Updated: 23 October 2026

You searched for one thing and the results show two. A wool removal blanket or quilted pad is not a single product with two names. On 21 October 2026 the Products Compared editorial team set five amazon.co.uk listings against the way UK packaging firms split the same shelves. Prices are in pounds. This is not a lab comparison of loft or tear, and there is no shared grams-per-square-metre figure across the five. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The rows are on the [moving blanket comparison](/hub/diy-supplies/moving-blanket). This page is the construction, not the star line.

What the trade keeps on two shelves

Simpson Packaging and The Packaging Depot list wool-mix transit blankets and quilted pads as different lines. The transit cloth is the familiar rectangle, about 150 cm × 200 cm and about 1 kg, with a cross-stitch and a hem. Evo Supplies states about 1,000 g for its own blanket. The quilted pad on those trade pages is larger. Simpson’s quilted pads are 1,800 mm × 2,200 mm and are used with elastic bands. Depot’s quilted covers are about 1.8 m × 2.2 m. Those sizes are not a test of the Amazon pads in this set. They show that a trade buyer expects two constructions, and that the quilted piece is often the bigger one. A wool-mix transit blanket is the cloth you throw over a wardrobe, a table, or a stack of chairs. A quilted pad is the padded cover, often with a stated fill, that trade firms slide or band around a single piece. Amazon’s search box uses moving blanket for both. If you need the trade quilted size, none of these five is 1.8 m × 2.2 m. If you need the 150 × 200 cm transit size, that wording is on the Triplast rows, not on the blue pad.

Wool mixture without a percentage

Triplast’s 4-pack, at £14.99, and the 10-pack, at £34.39, are the wool-mix rows. Both say 150 × 200 cm, ±5%, about 1 kg each, cross-stitch, hemmed edges, grey/brown, made in Turkey. Neither prints a percentage of wool. Evo’s published split, about 25–30% wool, 10–15% cotton, and 40–50% acrylic or polyester, belongs to Evo’s blanket. Do not paste it onto Triplast. Wool mixture means the seller used those words. It does not mean the cloth is mostly wool. The 4-pack’s item weight is 4 kg, which agrees with about 1 kg each. The 10-pack’s item weight says 1 kg, which does not. The star line is 4.6 from 734 on both, and the first 50 review texts match, so it is one pool. Those texts report lint, loose fibres, and a smell. There is no wash method. Buy the 4-pack when four cloths of that stated size are what you want and you accept an unstated wool share. Buy the 10-pack only as more of the same claim, after you have noticed the weight clash.

Quilted claims that are not one size

BEIBOON is the stated polyester pad: one blue cloth at £16.99, bullets saying 40 × 72 inches, recycled quilted padding, and a double-sided face for sliding. The title also says 102 × 193 cm. The item line says 183 × 102 cm and 810 g, while 2.7 pounds in the bullets is about 1.22 kg. Machine wash is stated. The water field says not water resistant. Reviews split. Some call it thick enough for a fridge or a move. Several call it too thin and return it. Quilted, on this page, is a stitching claim plus a fill claim. It is not the 1.8 × 2.2 m trade pad. Trojan’s 5-pack, at £16.85, claims premium quilted stitching and a non-slip face, at 200 × 150 cm. The material field says fabric. There is no weight and no loft. Some buyers doubled the cloths on televisions, and one says they were not really washable. Call this a quilted-stitching claim on an unnamed fabric, not a polyester pad and not a wool-mix transit blanket. The saved image is the same file as GOKAY’s 10-pack. That does not make the two cloths the same product.

When the fibre line will not choose

GOKAY’s 10-pack, at £24.49, states 200 × 150 cm and a 10 kg pack weight. The material field says the cloth is probably polyester. The product-type field says towel. Care is printed at 30–40°C. Reviews talk about furniture and white goods, and also about fluff and a slight smell. Probably is not a third construction you can file between wool-mix and quilted pad. It is a listing that will not commit. If you need the word polyester without the word probably, this page does not give it to you. The four lines to require are on the removal blankets buying guide. Choose the wool-mix wording when you want the 150 × 200 cm transit size that UK packaging firms describe, and you will accept lint and an unstated percentage. Choose the stated polyester pad when you want one blue quilted cloth and you have read the weight clash and the thinness reviews. Leave Trojan if you needed the material field to say polyester or wool and it only says fabric. Nothing here is a sound panel. A blanket over a table is not acoustic treatment.

Common questions

Are wool removal blankets and quilted pads the same thing?
No. Simpson Packaging and The Packaging Depot sell them as separate lines. The wool-mix transit blanket in those catalogues is about 150 cm × 200 cm. Their quilted pads are larger, about 1.8 m × 2.2 m, and Simpson pairs the pads with elastic bands. Amazon’s search uses one phrase for both, which is why they appear together. In this set only Triplast uses the wool-mixture bullets at that transit size. BEIBOON is a smaller stated polyester pad. The trade quilted size is not what you are buying on these five pages.
Does wool mixture mean mostly wool?
Not on these listings. Triplast prints wool mixture and no percentage. Evo Supplies prints about 25–30% wool for its own cloth, with cotton and acrylic or polyester making up the rest, at about 1,000 g. That blend is Evo’s. A cloth can be called a wool mixture while most of the fibre is something else. If you need a share you can quote, buy a product that prints the share. These Amazon rows do not.
Which of these five is the wool-mix cloth?
The Triplast 4-pack at £14.99 and the Triplast 10-pack at £34.39. Both state 150 × 200 cm, ±5%, about 1 kg each, cross-stitch, and a hem. The 4-pack weight agrees at 4 kg. The 10-pack weight field says 1 kg, which clashes. Their 4.6 from 734 is one shared review pool. GOKAY says probably polyester. Trojan says fabric. BEIBOON says polyester. Those three are not the wool-mix rows.
Is the blue BEIBOON pad the trade quilted size?
No. The bullets say 40 × 72 inches, about 102 × 183 cm, and the title also mentions 193 cm. Simpson’s quilted pads are 1,800 × 2,200 mm. Depot’s quilted covers are about 1.8 × 2.2 m. BEIBOON is one pad at £16.99, with 2.7 lb in the bullets and 810 g on the item line, and reviews disagree about thickness. It is a quilted-padding claim at a smaller size. It is not the cover a removal firm lists at 1.8 m × 2.2 m.
Why do wool blankets shed?
The Triplast review texts, the shared pool of 734, mention lint and loose fibres. A wool mixture that does not state its other fibres will often leave fluff on dark upholstery. GOKAY reviews mention fluff as well, on a cloth that is only probably polyester. Shake the blanket before it touches a fabric sofa. Shedding is a reason to keep a clean face against the furniture where the pad has one. Triplast does not state a clean side, so do not assume it.
Will a quilted pad slide better?
BEIBOON’s bullets say a double-sided cloth for sliding. That is a claim on one pad, not a test against the Triplast cloth. Trojan claims a non-slip face, which is the opposite job: staying put rather than sliding. A non-slip bullet and a sliding bullet should not be read as the same feature. If you need a pad that slides under a fridge, read BEIBOON’s line and the thinness reviews together. If you need the cloth to stay on a staircase, a non-slip claim still needs film or a band over it.
