Sort and name the cell before you pour
Tip the mixed bag onto a tray, not into the grid. Give one colour or one screw size its own cell first. If you will reorder seed beads, write the maker’s code on the label.

Close it so the next cell stays clean
A divider that sits proud leaves a gap, and seed beads use it. Seat each wall. On Opret, press the button until it clicks. The bullet says those buttons can come off and be refitted. Stop while you can still see a rim of plastic. That is a household habit, not a British Standard. Tip the shut box once over a cloth. Pieces in the wrong cell mean the wall or the latch was not home. Doukesh has a UK review, using screws, in which the catch fell apart. If it arrived broken, return it.
Drills, beads, and screws are not the same fill
Drills and seed beads travel. A separate lid or a seated wall matters more than the strength of the plastic. Nails and earrings sit in a 2 cm cell if the piece lies flat. A bracelet usually does not, and neither does a Lego minifigure.
Miniature screws and drill bits appear in UK reviews of QJKEJI, at 2.3 cm high. Ordinary wood screws are taller, and a craft latch is what failed in the Doukesh screws review. Most listings say they are not water resistant. Hejo’s bullet says rinse, not a dishwasher, and that line is not a food container. Screw limits are on the small parts organiser page. When the box itself is the fault
A cell that mixed because you overfilled it is a user miss. Sort it again and seat the wall. A catch that fell apart on the first close, a crack in the bottom, or a tray that arrived squashed is the retailer’s problem. UK returns rules cover faulty and not-as-described goods. Tape is not the repair.

Common questions
Do I sort before I pour?
Yes. Pouring a mixed bag into an open grid is how two colours share a cell before you have labelled either. Sort on a tray, assign one code or one screw size, label the lid, then pour. LILUONGS and WYIPOLZI include stickers. The flat trays in this capture often do not, so use tape or a peelable strip and keep the writing visible with the lid shut.
Where does the label go?
On the lid, readable when the box is closed. A label under the pieces vanishes. For diamond-painting drills, include the colour number and the chart symbol. For seed beads you will reorder, include the maker’s code. Stickers come with LILUONGS and WYIPOLZI, not with every box here.
How do I know a divider is seated?
The top of the wall should meet the lid line, with no gap you can slide a bead through. Press Opret’s buttons until they sit as the bullet describes, and remember they can come off. Then close the box and tip it gently over a cloth. Pieces in the wrong cell mean the wall was proud or the latch was not home. This is a household check, not a standard.
What if the box has no sticker sheet?
Use tape or a fine pen on a strip you can remove later. Opret, QJKEJI, and Doukesh do not list stickers in this capture. If you are kitting dozens of drill colours, a set of lidded inner boxes is the easier container, because each pot closes on its own. Tape on a 15-cell tray will not invent 60 lids.
Can I rinse every box?
No. Hejo’s bullet says you can rinse that box and must not put it in a dishwasher, and the page has no food-contact mark. Most other listings here say they are not water resistant. A water-resistant line on WYIPOLZI or LILUONGS is not a watertight claim and not a reason to wash beads and screws together. Do not treat any of these as food containers.
What do I do if the catch is already broken?
Stop using it and return it. A latch that failed on day one, a cracked base, or a crushed tray is faulty or not as described, and the route is the retailer, not tape. A divider you forgot to seat is your sort to do again. If the intact box is simply too shallow, choose a different depth rather than forcing the pieces in.
