Michelin tyre inflator: which model

Updated: 21.10.2026

You are looking at five Michelin names on amazon.co.uk and they all sound like the same glovebox pump. They are not. On 19 October 2026 the [Michelin air compressor comparison](/hub/compressors/michelin-air-compressor) held five listings, from £30.69 to £49.32, with stated flows of 16, 12 and 7 litres per minute, plus one cordless model that states no flow at all. This Michelin tyre inflator guide, from the Products Compared editorial team, is the fork between those listings. It is not a lab test, and a qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. By the end you should know which stated airflow matches the job, and which page disagrees with itself on maximum pressure.

Five Michelin listings, not five of the same pump

Start with litres per minute, because that is the only speed claim these pages actually print. The 009519 is £48.26 and states 16 L/min, a 60 cm hose and 4.5 from 8,285 reviews. The 27012 is £46.47 and states 12 L/min, with 4.2 from 30 reviews and no hose length on the table. The 27010 is £30.69 and states 7 L/min, a 400 mm hose and 4.0 from 21 reviews. The 009518 is £44.29, also 7 L/min, with a 10 cm hose, a 360 g body and 4.2 from 2,225 reviews. The 27014 is £49.32, cordless, with 3.8 from 15 reviews and no stated airflow. A 16 L/min claim is a different wait from 7 L/min when a tyre has gone well down. The best Michelin tyre inflator page uses the long file as its criterion. This page keeps the fork.

Where the listing argues with itself

Two of the five pages do not agree with themselves on the ceiling. On the 009519, the technical table says 6.9 bar and the bullets say up to 7 bar. A normal car placard sits under either number, but the page still prints two maxima. On the 009518 the clash is larger. The title and a bullet say 0.05 to 3.5 bar. The technical table says 6.9 bar. The listing does not resolve it. A 7 litre field on that sheet matches the 7 L/min flow on a 360 g body. It is not a 7 litre tank. The warranty line says no guarantee. If you cannot live with a contradicted maximum, leave the 009518.

Which socket job gets which model

Use the 27010 when you want the lowest Michelin shelf and the job is an occasional top-up you can wait for. At £30.69 you are paying for 7 L/min and a short review file, not for the 16 L/min claim. Use the 009519 when you want that 16 L/min, a 60 cm hose and a preset, and you accept the 6.9/7 bar wording. It still needs a 12 V socket. Use the 27012 when you want the newer socket body at £46.47 and you can live with 30 reviews, an unstated hose length, and at least one owner who found the gauge in psi only. The button sequence is on how to use a Michelin tyre inflator.

Use the 27014 only if you refuse a lead

Use the 27014 only if you refuse a lead and you will return a pack that will not hold a charge. It is a different power type, not a fifth copy of the socket pumps. Two reviews describe a battery that shows full and then empty when the motor starts. Airflow and hose length are not stated, and it is the highest price here. The Michelin cordless versus 12 V page stays on that choice. The number you type in is the door sticker, not the pump's maximum.

Common questions

Is 16 L/min worth more than 7 L/min for a car?
It depends on how flat the tyre is. The 009519 states 16 L/min and the 27010 and 009518 state 7 L/min. A small top-up can be fine on the slower claim. Two 27010 reviews say that slower claim was not enough for the job they wanted. Neither figure is a timed test of your tyre. If you regularly lift a tyre from well down, the higher stated flow is the clearer listing, at a higher price and with the 6.9/7 bar wording still on the page.
Why does the 009518 say both 3.5 bar and 6.9 bar?
The title and a bullet say 0.05 to 3.5 bar. The technical table says 6.9 bar. Amazon does not say which row is current. You should not pick the higher number because it is more convenient. If your placard is under 3.5 bar, both figures still cover that target, but you have bought a listing that disagrees with itself. If you need a single printed ceiling, choose a different row.
Does the Michelin 27012 show bar?
The spec table does not say. One review says the gauge is psi only. Another found bar, psi and kPa, and found the switch fiddly. If your door sticker is in bar, do not assume this listing will match it. Confirm the unit before you leave the tyre, or use a gauge that shows the sticker's unit.
Which price is real, £30.69 or a trade price of £17.99?
For this comparison, £30.69 is the amazon.co.uk shelf for the 27010 on 19 October 2026. Opal's £17.99 is a different retailer. AUTODOC has listed the 009519 near £106.99 while amazon.co.uk showed £48.26. Use the amazon figure when you are comparing these five rows. Another shop can change tomorrow.
What should I ignore on the 009518 spec sheet?
Ignore the idea of a 7 litre tank. The 7 L figure lines up with the stated 7 L/min flow on a 360 g body. Also do not average 3.5 bar and 6.9 bar into a third maximum the page never prints. The warranty line says no guarantee, and the hose is 10 cm. Those are reasons to test the unit inside the return window if you still buy it.
