Best Bestway paddling pool: size and litres

Updated: 21 October 2026

The best Bestway paddling pool is not one box. You have measured the patio, the forecast says a hot weekend, and the results use family for a metre-square toddler ring, a two-metre rectangle that Argos lists at both 400 and 450 litres, and a Deluxe shell at 778 litres. This page is the size decision only: which footprint and which single capacity you should plan from. Prices saved on 19 October 2026, and the nine listings, are in the [Bestway paddling pool comparison](/hub/swimming-pools/bestway-paddling-pool). Peter F., editor for DIY & tools, ran no lab test. Three Bestway sizes that are not the same pool

Start with the patch of ground, not the star rating. A family rectangle needs flat ground longer and wider than the inflated shell, plus a path to the drain that does not stand on the vinyl. Argos support for model 12819 also mentions 450 litres for a 2.11 m rectangle, and states that the pump is not included. Treat 400 litres as this ASIN's figure. Treat 450 litres as the clash with the Bestway UK store model at about 2.01 × 1.50 m, sold out at £24.99 when checked, which is not one of the nine ASINs. The Deluxe age line is 6+. If two children and an adult will sit in, skip the 62 litre ring. Named picks are on best paddling pool UK.

What has to be true of the ground and the box

None of the kept Bestway listings include an electric pump. You inflate the rings with a pump you already own. Clear stones before any air goes in. Dragging an inflated ring across grit starts punctures. Summer Set reviewers say the patch is small and has no instructions. The Deluxe states a drain and a patch. The 12819 mentions a drain in review copy, not on the components line. Weights are 796 g, 2.5 kg and 3.9 kg. Foldables in the same set reach 18 kg, which is the inflatable or foldable paddling pool choice. Walls of 46–51 cm can be filled far above the centimetre depths UK pages use for babies. BS EN 71-8 uses a 400 mm line for classification. That is not permission to leave a child alone. RoSPA treats a full paddling pool as something you empty.

When a foldable or a canopy changes the choice

A sunshade is not supervision. Bestway 52192 prints no UPF number. Reviews include a disappointing canopy and a first-day puncture. The bullet and the table disagree on side lengths, even when 70 gallons and 265 litres can agree if the gallons are US gallons. That is shade and splash, not a family sit-in. The ROMIVO claims UPF 50+ and no pump, yet lists an inflation valve cap, and a review describes a missing drain plug. The BOODPET at £109.99 has no air chambers, states no litres, weighs 18 kg and is not a Bestway. Use that fork when the question is a pump against claws. Use the under-five page when you are deciding how little water still needs an adult within arm's reach.

Figures you should not treat as facts

The 4.3 from 44,525 ratings on the 12819 and the Deluxe is one shared widget, and the overlapping text describes a 2 m, 450 litre pool. It is not a vote for either shell. The sea-animals listing prints 2,074 litres while reviews describe a smaller pool with nothing to inflate. The GALAXYER listings at £39.99 are not Bestway pools, and reviews mention seam splits. A 10 ft Fast Set is a different product.

Common questions

Is the 778 litre Deluxe the same as the 450 litre family pool?
No. The Deluxe listing prints 262 × 175 × 51 cm and 778 litres. The Bestway UK store describes a 450 litre rectangle near 2.01 m, and Argos support for model 12819 mentions 450 litres alongside 400 litres on the amazon.co.uk 12819 ASIN. Three capacity names sit under family. Match one ASIN to one technical line.
How much flat ground does a 2.1 m pool need?
Plan at least the inflated rectangle plus a walkway to the drain valve without stepping on the rim. For 211 × 132 cm that is roughly two metres by one and a half metres of level, stone-free ground before you add hose space. A 62 litre ring fits a small patio patch and will not seat two children.
Are the GALAXYER pools a Bestway?
No. They appear on the same search shelf at £39.99, but the brand line is not Bestway. The review files are thinner, at 2.9 from 588 and 3.0 from 234, and seam splits come up in the texts. Treat them as a separate decision from the Deluxe at the same shelf price.
Why do two listings share 44,525 reviews?
Amazon's display ties the same review block to more than one size line. The 12819 and the Deluxe both show 4.3 from 44,525, and the overlapping text describes a 2 m, 450 litre pool. Read the technical dimensions on the offer you are buying, not the star count alone.
Is 2,074 litres on the sea-animals listing safe to believe?
Not until the parcel matches the large technical line. The page prints 244 × 244 × 46 cm and 2,074 litres, while reviews describe a smaller shell and nothing to inflate. Do not buy water, or mark out a 2.44 m circle, from that litre figure alone.
When is a Fast Set the wrong buy?
When you wanted a lightweight vinyl paddling pool you can empty the same day, not a taller swimming pool with a different footprint and a different setup. This category leaves Fast Set listings out on purpose. A 10 ft shell is not a paddling pick.
