Best 125mm grinding discs in this set

Updated: 21 October 2026

You want a ten-pack of 125 mm grinding discs from amazon.co.uk, and the star rows do not agree with the review text or with the fields inside the listing. Best, on this page, means the pack whose size, grit, and UK comments describe grinding, for the metal you actually have. It does not mean the highest star average in Britain, and it is not a lab test. Products Compared read the four kept listings on 19 October 2026. The prices in those files are £11.30, £13.32, £18.00, and £17.90. The full table, including the clashes, is on the [125mm grinding discs](/hub/sanders/125mm-grinding-discs) comparison. What best means here

The set is four depressed-centre packs that survived a sort. Merryland’s line is 4.6 from 1,074 reviews, and many of those reviews describe cutting. Tyrolit ONE’s line is 5.0 from one rating, with no review text in the file. A best-of list that sorted by stars would put those two first. This page does not. For mild-steel welds, the listing should say steel, about 6 mm, a coarse grit, a maximum speed, and the UK comments should talk about grinding. For stainless, the listing should name stainless, and the words iron-free only count when that page uses them. Fit, flange direction, and angle stay on how to use a 125mm grinding disc. The general grit lesson stays on the buying guide.

Parweld for mild-steel welds

The Parweld GS1260 ten-pack is £11.30, the lowest pack price here, and it is the top pick for mild steel. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.7 from 108 reviews. UK blocks in the file describe discs that grind welds flat, take material off, and hold together down to a thin rim. One reviewer found the grinding disc a little smooth and slow. The bullets give 125 x 6.0 x 22.23 mm, a depressed centre, grade A24R-BF, 12,200 rpm, and EN 12413. The title prints the bore as 22.2 mm. Stainless is not on the title or the bullets. Skip this pack when the job is stainless and you care about iron left in the grind marks. That limit is spelled out on grinding disc for stainless steel.

The two Tyrolit packs

Tyrolit ONE is £13.32. The title says a 10-pack of 125 x 6.0 x 22.23 mm discs for steel and stainless, grit 30. It is the best value in this set only in that narrow sense: the lowest shelf price among the titles that name stainless, once Merryland’s cutting reviews are set aside. The rating is 5.0 from one review, and the file has no review text. Maximum rpm is absent. EN 12413 is absent. The standard field says ISO 6344:1991. The grit-material field says silicon carbide while the material field says steel, and the unit count says 1 against a 10-pack title. Buy it only if you will read the rpm and the date on the ring when the box arrives, and if you do not need an iron-free sentence. Tyrolit BASIC article 222860 is £18.00, the highest pack price here. Tyrolit’s GB page lists 222860 as form 27, A 30 Q-BF, 125 x 6 x 22.23 mm, and says 6 mm is for rough grinding. The amazon bullets agree on shape 27, aluminium oxide, grit 30, EN 12413, and steel and stainless. The line is 4.5 from 52 reviews. Eleven UK texts describe discs that grind. The amazon title also says cutting discs, and the thickness field says 125 mm, which fights the 6 mm in the title. No rpm is printed in the raw file. The GB page does not say iron-free.

Merryland’s star row

Merryland E31086043 is £17.90 for ten. The bullets say 125 x 6.0 x 22.23 mm, 12,250 rpm, and EN 12413, and the title names steel and stainless. The grit field says 60 and the material line says A30R-BF. The listed weight is 175 g, which is not a credible mass for ten 125 mm wheels. Parweld’s ten-pack is listed at 1.81 kg. The star line is 4.6 from 1,074. Many texts in the file describe cutting, thin discs, or cut-off wheels. One says a disc was about 2 mm oversize and would not fit a 125 mm guard unless the guard came off. Skip this pack when you are choosing from the stars. If a box is already on the bench, measure the thickness and see whether the disc sits inside the guard before you start it.

Common questions

Which pack is the lowest price?
Parweld is £11.30 for ten in the raw file, then Tyrolit ONE at £13.32, Merryland at £17.90, and Tyrolit BASIC at £18.00. Those are shelf prices from the listings we stored, including VAT as amazon.co.uk showed it.
Which pack has UK reviews about welds?
Parweld’s file has UK comments about grinding welds flat and about discs that hold together, plus one comment that removal was slow. Tyrolit BASIC’s eleven UK texts also describe grinding. Tyrolit ONE has a star and no review text. Merryland’s large file is mostly about cutting.
Which pack names stainless?
Tyrolit ONE, Tyrolit BASIC, and Merryland name stainless in the title. Parweld says steel and welding seams, and it does not name stainless. None of the four pages we used prints the words iron-free. A separate Bosch Professional disc does, and it is not in this set.
Is Tyrolit ONE’s 5.0 meaningful?
It is 5.0 from one rating, and the raw file has no review body. That is not a sample you can compare with 108 Parweld reviews or 52 Tyrolit BASIC reviews. The listing also omits maximum rpm. Read the ring on the disc if you buy the pack.
Who should skip Parweld?
Skip it when you need the listing to name stainless, or when you need the words iron-free. Also skip it if you need the bore written the same way in the title and the bullets: the title says 22.2 mm and the bullets say 22.23 mm. For mild-steel welds, the UK grinding comments are the reason it leads this set.
