The first cut with a new Einhell feels simpler because there is no cable across the lawn, and that is the wrong lesson to take from the missing lead. You still charge a lithium pack from the mains, the blade is still a blade, and the first pass of the year should be high. This is how to use an Einhell cordless lawn mower in this set: charge on a protected socket, take the pack and the safety key out before you clear the chute, set the highest height the deck allows, then mow dry grass. Charge before you open the chute

Charge the Power X-Change pack indoors, on a BS 1363 socket, before you think about the grass. Electrical Safety First advises an RCD on outdoor electrical equipment and says not to use electrical kit on wet ground. The charger is the mains object, at 230 V. None of these captures shows a BS 1363 plug, so check the pins that arrived. If the charger smells of burning or trips the RCD, stop and unplug it. Fit the pack only when you are about to mow. The RASARRO included line names a safety key. A GE-CM 36/36 family manual tells you to pull the safety plug before you change height. That step belongs to that family. The 30 cm listings adjust at the axles. Before a hand goes near the chute, the pack is out and the safety key or plug is out. The 18 V or 36 V page says which decks need two packs seated together.

Set the highest height you can

The Royal Horticultural Society tells you to take about one third of the leaf off in a pass and to use the highest setting for the first cut of the season. An ordinary summer lawn in that guidance is around 13–25 mm. Several decks here bottom at 25 mm or 30 mm, so you may not reach 13 mm in one pass from a long winter lawn. On the 30 cm and 32 cm Li models, UK reviews say you move both axles against a spring. Set one side, then the other, or you scalp a stripe. On the 36/36 and the 43 cm, the bullets describe a central adjuster. Use it only with the pack removed. On the 18/30 the top step is 70 mm, and 30 mm is as short as the bullets go.

Mow dry grass in stripes

Do not mow wet or frozen grass. Wet clippings clog a 25 or 30 litre box. Edges against a wall are a second pass with the chute pointing away from the border. Empty the box before it is packed solid. UK reviews on the 18/30 solo say the motor stops if you leave the box too long. If the box will not click, seat it with the pack out. When you finish, pack out and safety key out. Do not bin a tired pack.

Stop and get help

Stop if the charger trips the RCD, smells hot, or will not start a pack from the same carton. A mower that will not start from new goes back to the retailer under section 9 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Stop if the blade is chipped, bent, or wrapped in wire. A new outdoor socket is an electrician’s job. There is no national Sunday mowing ban.

Common questions

Where do I charge the pack?
Indoors, on a 230 V BS 1363 socket, with RCD protection, before you go outside. The charger is mains equipment even though the mower has no trailing lead. Unplug the charger if it smells of burning or trips the RCD. These captures do not show the plug face, so confirm the pins on the charger you received. Fit the pack to the mower only when you are ready to cut.
What comes out before I clear the chute?
The battery, and the safety key or safety plug your manual names. The RASARRO carton lists a safety key. A GE-CM 36/36 family manual tells you to pull the safety plug before you adjust the height, and that step is for that family, not for a 30 cm axle adjuster. Do not put a hand in the chute with the pack seated.
How high should the first cut be?
As high as that deck goes, then about one third of the leaf, which is the RHS rule. Summer guidance around 13–25 mm may be shorter than a 30 mm minimum. The 18/30 bottoms at 30 mm in the bullets, so its first cut is the 70 mm step.
Why is the 30 cm height change so stiff?
UK reviews say you move both axles against a spring. It is not the central lever on the 36/36 or the 43 cm. Set one side, then the other, with the pack out. If a spring has already failed, as one 18/32 Li review reported inside two years, stop and speak to the retailer.
Can I mow wet grass?
No. The RHS tells you to mow dry grass, and Electrical Safety First tells you not to use electrical equipment on wet ground. Wet clippings also pack a 25 litre box until the motor stops, which is already a complaint in the 18/30 reviews. Frozen grass is the same refusal.
When do I stop and call someone?
Stop for a charger that burns, trips, or will not charge a new pack, for a chipped or bent blade, and for any blade bolt you will not refit with the pack and the key removed. A new outdoor socket is electrical work. A mower that is dead on arrival goes back to the seller under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 9. Do not keep running a deck that will not hold its height.
