Best for an impact driver that also needs a few drills

The B-66896, ASIN B07TQVLMK6, is about £19.75 with 4.7 from 2,554 ratings and a comparison score of 82, the highest in this set. The box holds sixteen bits at 25 mm, six at 50 mm, a holder, a screw guide, nutsetters at 6, 8 and 10 mm, and six HSS drills from 2.5 mm to 5 mm. Makita’s listing text says the bits are about 20 per cent more durable and mentions a torsion zone. That sentence is the maker’s claim. It is not a measurement we repeated. The limit arrives when a bolt sticks through a nut. Reviewers say the sockets are too shallow, and one wanted 7 mm rather than 6 mm. The drills stop at 5 mm, some shafts loosen, and impact bits in the same reviews can still break after long use.

Best value if you only drive screws

The E-12011, ASIN B09X712TRS, is ten 50 mm Impact Black bits at about £9.04, with 4.6 from 814 ratings and a score of 80. It covers PH1 to PH3, PZ1 to PZ3 and T15, T20, T25 and T30. Twenty-four UK texts do not form a snap theme. That is why it is the best value impact set, and why the cheaper rows do not take that place. The D-30667 is about £8.95 and is a 25 mm standard set, not Impact Black. The D-73455 at about £7.92 does not drive screws. The E-12005 is also Impact Black, at about £9.97, but it is 4.2 from 478 reviews, with a weak latch and a shattered Pozidriv bit. The E-12011 still has no slotted bit, and a 0.2 inch length field that disagrees with the 50 mm bullet.

Skip both when the afternoon is drilling

Skip both impact sets when the afternoon is drilling, not driving. The E-06270 is 212 pieces at about £49.22 and 4.2 kg, with 4.7 from 1,561 reviews, and masonry bits up to 300 mm. Its score is 68 because the role is different, not because the reviews are poor. The E-10730 and the B-68432 sit in the same family. One UK review of the B-68432 says five HSS-TiN drills broke on first use. Buy the large case for wood, stone and metal, not as a stand-in for a small impact set.

Skip both for nuts, a countersink, or a chuck listing

Skip both driver sets when the fastener is a nut. The E-15768 is six Impact Black nutsetters from 6 mm to 13 mm, including the 7 mm the B-66896 lacks, at about £11.95. The magnet still shortens the socket, and one review says it came loose. Skip both for a countersink: the D-73455 pilots No 6 to No 12 wood screws and includes no driver bit. Skip the B-66880 until the chuck conflict is gone. The attribute block names part 194079-2, a 13 mm chuck, while the title talks about 35 bits. A 4.7 line is not a promise that a bit will never snap.

Common questions

Is the 33-piece set worth more than the £9 set?
It is worth the extra when you will use the 25 mm bits, the three nutsetters and the six small HSS drills. The gap on this capture is about £19.75 against about £9.04. It is a weak spend when you only wear out PZ2 and T25. The £9 set has one of each size and no spare of the size you use most.
What is wrong with the pocket 25 mm set?
The E-12005 is titled Impact Black, yet it is 4.2 from 478 reviews. UK texts describe a latch that drops bits, a magnetic holder called flimsy, and a shattered Pozidriv bit. The snap case will not work as a handle. It can live in a bag for light jobs. It is not the best value stand-in for the E-12011.
Who should buy nutsetters instead?
Buy the E-15768 when the heads are hex nuts from 6 mm to 13 mm, including 7 mm, and you do not need Pozidriv that day. It is about £11.95, sold as Impact Black, with 4.6 from 853 reviews. The magnet reduces socket depth, so it is the wrong buy if the bolt must pass through the nut.
Does 4.7 stars mean the bits will not snap?
No. The B-66896’s 4.7 from 2,554 ratings is a broad satisfaction line on amazon.co.uk. Reviews in the same file say impact bits can still break after long use. Stars do not cancel a mismatched recess or a screw jammed in old timber. Keep a spare of the size you use every day.
Is the £8.95 31-piece set the best value?
No. The D-30667 is a few pence under the E-12011, and it is a capable standard set for a combi drill, with slotted bits and extra PZ2 copies. It is not titled Impact Black. The best value pick on this page is the E-12011. The countersink at about £7.92 answers a different job.
