Cordless leaf vacuum buying guide

Updated: 21.10.2026

You can spend an hour on star ratings and still order a blower that never fills a bag. A cordless leaf vacuum has to pull leaves in and hold them until you empty it. This cordless leaf vacuum buying guide puts that test first, then the battery, the printed litres, and the weight. The six listings we kept are on the [cordless leaf vacuum comparison](/hub/garden-tools/cordless-leaf-vacuum). We read the amazon.co.uk listings on 20 October 2026. Start with the bag, not the browse node

Amazon’s browse path mixes blowers, vacuums, and machines that claim both. If the listing does not name a bag, it is the wrong tool for this job. A blower that might take an optional sack later is not the same purchase as a blower-vac that arrives with one. A missing bag is a category fail. A named bag with no litre figure is a weaker fail: you can still collect, but you cannot judge how often you will walk to the compost heap. In this set the Ryobi OBV18 names 35 L, the AIVOLT listing names 40 L, and the SEYVUM CXJ01 names 45 L. The WORX WG583E names a bag. The Flymo EasiBlowVac bullets we used do not print a bag capacity.

Battery in the box, and how many packs the tool drinks

A bare price is not a running price. The Ryobi OBV18 is listed at about £167.95 without a battery or a charger. If you do not already own 18 V ONE+ packs, you still have to buy a pack and a charger. The WORX style name on amazon.co.uk, ASIN B08FCDSV49, says 2 x 2.0 Ah. The WORX UK page talks about two 4.0 Ah packs. Buy the listing in front of you. The Flymo EasiBlowVac at about £199 includes one 18 V 4 Ah battery and a charger. The SEYVUM CXJ01 names two 4.0 Ah batteries and does not name a charger. Reviews suggest both packs may need to be fitted at once. The AIVOLT listing names two 4.0 Ah batteries and a dual-port charger, on five UK reviews.

Bag litres, mulch ratio, weight, and wheels

Litres beat the word lightweight. The Ryobi page states 35 L and 5.21 kg. The SEYVUM item weight is 6.81 kg with a 45 L bag. The WORX listing we used states about 4 kg and a 12:1 mulch ratio. The AIVOLT bullets state 4.5 kg, a 40 L bag, and 15:1. The Flymo listing states 350 km/h and does not state a mulch ratio. Use the kilogram figure. A printed 12:1, 10:1, or 15:1 is a brand claim, not a shared UK test, and it does not mean wet leaves will pass. The word mulcher without a number is advertising. The Ryobi listing includes a shoulder strap. If a listing shows neither wheels nor a strap, budget for about 4 kg to 7 kg held up while the tube is on.

Stars only after the sample

Stars summarise whoever reviewed that exact listing, and the samples here are not equal. The WORX scores 4.5 from 55 reviews. The Flymo scores 4.1 from 102. The Ryobi scores 3.8 from 1,294, and UK comments often mention clogs and a stiff first assembly. The SEYVUM scores 4.1 from 1,070 reviews, and several UK texts on that page name AIVOLT rather than SEYVUM. The AIVOLT scores 3.8 from five reviews, including one report of shocks at the handle. The Gribouillage has one 5.0 review. If a manufacturer page disagrees with the ASIN, read the listing you are about to pay for. Ideal Home’s EasiBlowVac write-up cites 250 km/h and a 30 L bag. The amazon.co.uk bullets say 350 km/h and omit litres. Who each listing suits is on the best cordless leaf blower vacuum.

Common questions

Does a cordless leaf vacuum actually vacuum, or does it only blow?
It vacuums only if the listing includes a vacuum mode and a bag. A blower with no collection sack moves leaves. It does not remove them. You should still read the included-parts line. A tool that only blows is the wrong buy, even at a lower price.
Do both batteries have to be fitted at once?
Sometimes the tool will not run on one pack, so the second battery is not a spare. That theme shows up in reviews on the SEYVUM page, which lists two 4.0 Ah batteries. If both must be installed, your runtime is one session, then a wait, unless you own a further pair.
Is a mulch ratio the same as the word mulcher?
No. A ratio such as 10:1, 12:1, or 15:1 is a printed claim you can compare. The word mulcher, with no number, is not. The Flymo listing does not state a ratio. None of these figures is an independent UK lab result, and none of them promises that soaked leaves will pass the fan. Treat them as the maker’s volume claim only.
What weight should I trust if the listing says lightweight?
Trust the item-weight field in kilograms. The Ryobi is listed at 5.21 kg and the SEYVUM at 6.81 kg. The WORX listing we used is about 4 kg and the AIVOLT about 4.5 kg. A bullet that says lightweight can sit next to a heavier item weight.
What bag size is printed, in litres?
Look for a figure in litres, not the word large. Here the Ryobi states 35 L, the AIVOLT 40 L, and the SEYVUM 45 L. The WORX UK page mentions 35 L, which may not match the Amazon ASIN, so read the listing you will pay for. The Flymo bullets we used do not state litres.
