Cordless fertiliser spreader

Updated: 21.10.2026

A cordless fertiliser spreader in this set is a bare granule fan, 3.3 or 3.7 litres. You are deciding whether the 18 V pack you already own fits, and whether the review file is thick enough to trust. Push models stay on the [best broadcast spreader UK](/hub/garden-tools/broadcast-spreader/sub/broadcast-spreader-best) page. All six models are on the [broadcast spreader comparison](/hub/garden-tools/broadcast-spreader). Prices are the amazon.co.uk snapshot of 19 October 2026. If you buy through our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We did not run the motors.

What you are actually holding

You are holding a small spinning fan. The Einhell, Roadtime and LengSuaa state a 3.3 litre hopper. The YEX-BUR states 3.7 litres. Width claims run up to about 5 metres. It is not a 45 cm roller, and it is not Makita’s DUS054Z. That Makita model, sold bare by UK shops such as DVS Power Tools, is a 5 litre liquid garden sprayer. If the title says sprayer, leave this page. The battery is missing from every cordless box here. A new 18 V pack can cost as much as the tool.

Einhell Power X-Change

The Einhell GE-US 18 Li-Solo is the bare unit with a review base: model 3415410, 3.3 litres, six speeds, eight flow steps, a stated maximum of 5 metres, and no battery or charger. The amazon.co.uk snapshot is £37.99, with 4.4 from 4,343 ratings. Screwfix listed the same bare tool at £38.99 including VAT on 20 October 2026. Einhell’s own UK shop showed £46.95. Damp rock salt clogs the mechanism. Washing the body let water inside, so you empty and wipe. A review says it does not accept Makita batteries. The slide is Einhell 18 V Power X-Change only. If that pack is in your shed, this is the best value cordless fan in the set.

Listings that say Makita on the title

Roadtime, LengSuaa and YEX-BUR are not Makita tools. They claim a Makita 18 V fit, and they omit the battery. Roadtime DJ01277-MT is £35.99 and 3.1 from four ratings. One unit died the first time it was used. LengSuaa S8 is £39.99, at 4.5 from two ratings. The technical line says AC. The bullets say a Makita 18 V battery. Until that clash is gone, do not buy it as an 18 V fan. YEX-BUR YX-PS05-MT is £69.99, with 3.7 litres and up to 5 metres. A genuine Makita battery worked for one owner. Copy batteries seemed not to work.

When a push trolley is the calmer buy

If you do not already own the pack, the Gardena Spreader XL at £105.49 is the push fan with 18 litres and no cells to buy. It is the top pick on the main page for an open lawn, with the caveat that its 6,628 ratings mix other Gardena models. The Scotts snapshot of £167.14 needs a shop-price check. Stay with a cordless fan when you already own the matching pack and the granules will be dry. Damp salt clogged an Einhell, and premium salt failed in a YEX-BUR. Empty and wipe the housing. One dead unit in four Roadtime reviews is a reason to read the texts, not a measured failure rate.

Common questions

Does the Einhell include a battery?
No. The GE-US 18 Li on amazon.co.uk is a spreader only, at £37.99 in the snapshot, and the size line says it comes without a battery and charger. Einhell’s own page and the Screwfix listing are the same bare unit at different shelf prices, £46.95 and £38.99 including VAT on the dates saved with this comparison.
Will an Einhell spreader run on Makita?
Not according to the review file. One United Kingdom review says the Einhell does not accept Makita batteries. The slide is Power X-Change. The Roadtime, LengSuaa and YEX-BUR are the listings that claim a Makita fit, and they are different brands. Do not buy the Einhell to use a Makita pack, and do not buy a “for Makita” title to use an Einhell pack.
Which listings are real Makita tools?
None of the four granule fans. Makita’s name appears as a battery claim on Roadtime, LengSuaa and YEX-BUR. The Einhell is Einhell. The Makita product that search mixes in, the DUS054Z, is an 18 V liquid sprayer of about 5 litres, sold bare, not a seed fan. If you want a Makita-made tool for granules, it is not in this comparison.
Is a 3.3 litre hopper enough?
Enough for a small UK lawn if you accept refills. It is not 800 m² in one load. The Einhell, Roadtime and LengSuaa are 3.3 litres. The YEX-BUR is 3.7 litres. The Gardena trolley, at 18 litres, is the hopper you choose when stopping to refill is the problem. Seed can bridge in the smaller outlets, which is what one YEX-BUR owner found.
Why did salt clog?
Damp rock salt clogged an Einhell in the review sample. Premium salt did not drop through a YEX-BUR even on setting 5. A bullet that lists winter grit does not change that. Dry, free-flowing granules are the condition. If the salt is wet, or it dusts into a paste, clear the outlet and stop, rather than forcing the motor.
Are two reviews enough?
No. LengSuaa’s 4.5 from two United Kingdom texts only tells you those two buyers liked the idea and could not find a settings guide. Roadtime’s four reviews include a dead-on-arrival return. YEX-BUR’s 23 ratings, with 12 UK texts in the saved listing, are better than two and still thin beside the Einhell’s 4,343.
