Soudal silicone buying guide

Updated: 23 October 2026

You are standing in front of a uPVC window or a tiled bath, and the amazon.co.uk results for Soudal silicone all look like the same white or clear cartridge. They are not. This set splits into Silirub LMN, a low-modulus neutral-cure building silicone, and trade multi-purpose multipacks whose matching Soudal sheet is an acetoxy sealant. The [Soudal silicone comparison](/hub/fillers-adhesives-and-sprays/soudal-silicone) holds the eight listings, with prices and review counts. This page is the order of decisions: cure against the substrate, then colour, then how many tubes are in the box. Prices below are the GBP figures on those listings. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Two Soudal silicones, not one

Start with the title, not the brand. Three listings name Silirub LMN and a neutral cure. The white 300 ml single is £8.20 with 4.5 from 118 ratings, and its materials line names wood, metal, PVC and glass. The clear 300 ml single is £8.54 with 4.7 from 67 ratings. The brilliant white LMN row is £17.03. It is the only listing whose bullets print ISO 11600 F&G 25 LM, and its specification says three tubes and 900 ml. The other five titles are trade multi-purpose multipacks. Their Amazon specifications do not name a cure. Soudal’s Trade Multi-Purpose sheet describes that family as acetoxy, with a vinegar smell, a fungicide, and no reliable adhesion to PVC. A moving frame wants the low-modulus class on an LMN listing. Smell, copper and the PVC limit are on the neutral cure or acetoxy silicone page.

What the joint is made of

uPVC and many plastics want the neutral, low-modulus silicone. In this set that is the three LMN listings, and the brilliant white row if you also want PVC-u named. The white single already names PVC. The clear single’s materials field only says silicone. Ceramic, glass, wood and many metals are where the trade bullets aim, including a fungicide to resist mould growth. That line is not Soudal Stay Fresh or Trade Sanitary, which are not among these eight ASINs. A shower that stays humid is a different decision, on the Soudal silicone bathroom page. Concrete is on the trade sheet’s poor-adhesion list. Natural stone is out for both families: Soudal says standard silicone oil stains marble and granite, and the darker edge cannot be removed. Silirub LMN is also the wrong product for the secondary seal of an insulating glass unit and for PVB film. A blank cure field is not a neutral cure.

Colour, paint, and pack count

Paint does not adhere to silicone, so the colour you gun is the colour that stays. An unanswered “is it paintable?” question is not a yes. Choose clear where a white bead would show on glass or a roof, and white or brilliant white against ceramic. Count tubes before you divide a price. On the clear 3-pack at £12.31, two reviewers say the photo shows four tubes and three arrived. On the brilliant white LMN listing, one reviewer says four were pictured and one arrived. The clear title that says 6 pack is £12.95, with a specification of one item and a weight of 310 g. Do not divide that price by six. The white 3-pack is the counter-example: title and specification both say three, at £12.30. The white 6-pack says six items at £21.28. The white 2-pack says 2 pack in the title and 1 in the package-quantity field, at £9.80 with 5.0 from four ratings.

What the amazon.co.uk prices are for

The two single 300 ml LMN cartridges are the entry band: £8.20 white and £8.54 clear. You pay for a named neutral cure, not a multipack. The mid band runs from £9.80 for the white 2-pack, through about £12.30 to £12.95, up to £17.03 for the LMN listing that names the 25 LM class. The white trade 6-pack is £21.28. That is more cartridges, not a higher movement class. A Silirub 2 listing turned up in search at £10.20. It is not in this comparison. Three listings say neutral. Five do not.

Common questions

Is every Soudal silicone neutral cure?
No. In this comparison only the three Silirub LMN listings name a neutral cure. The five trade multi-purpose multipacks leave the cure blank. Soudal’s Trade Multi-Purpose sheet describes that family as acetoxy. Read the cartridge if you are about to seal uPVC and the Amazon page is silent.
Which listings are Silirub LMN?
The white 300 ml single at £8.20, the clear 300 ml single at £8.54, and the brilliant white listing at £17.03 whose specification says three tubes and 900 ml. Only the last of those prints ISO 11600 F&G 25 LM in the bullets.
Can I paint Soudal silicone?
No. Soudal states that paint does not adhere to silicone sealant. The colour you gun is the colour that stays. Several listings show “is it paintable?” and do not record an answer, which is not a yes.
Clear or white?
Clear when the bead crosses glass, a roof cap or a joint where white would flash. White or brilliant white against ceramic and most painted frames. The clear LMN materials field does not name PVC. The white LMN materials field does.
Is a six-pack cheaper per tube?
Only after you count. The white 6-pack specification says six items at £21.28. The clear title that says 6 pack is £12.95 with a specification of one item and a weight of 310 g. Do not divide that price by six.
Will it stain marble?
Yes, in the sense Soudal warns about. Standard silicone can leave a permanent darker edge on marble and granite. Neither family in this set is a natural-stone sealant.
