Eaton UPS UK sockets

Updated: October 2026

You are looking at four IEC outlets and a plug attribute that does not match the title, and you need to know whether a normal UK plug will go in the back. Eaton UPS UK sockets, in this amazon.co.uk set, come down to one fact: only the 3S700B title describes BS 1363 outlets. Every other AC model is IEC C13 on the output. The seven rows and their prices from 19 October 2026 are on the [Eaton UPS comparison](/hub/electrical-equipment/eaton-ups). We did not open the cartons. Three different connectors

A UPS can be UK in three ways that are not the same feature. The input lead is what goes into the wall. The output sockets are what your PC and router plug into. A BS 1363 input cord means the UPS itself can plug into a British socket. It does not mean the outlets on the back are British sockets. IEC C13 outlets take the kettle-style C14 plug. A BS 1363 plug does not fit a C13 hole. You still need a proper plug into the wall, not a taped adapter. Do not put an actual kettle, or a heater, on the battery outlets. Even a genuine BS socket on the 3S700B can be a socket that dies in the cut.

Where each ASIN lands

Only B0B3RSK9BD, the 3S700B at £124.06, describes BS outlets in the title: eight of them, four battery-backed and four surge-only. Eaton’s GB page says Input: UK, and the input table on that same page says Schuko. The amazon plug attribute says Type B. You check the lead in the box. The 5S550IBS at £111.43 claims a BS input cord, and the outlets are IEC C13. The amazon plug attribute says Type E/F. The 5E900UI and the 5E2200UI both say no plug. The 3P listings say Type C. Topology and AVR stay on the Eaton UPS buying guide.

The part number is the socket

On the 5E Gen2, the letters after the VA figure are the connector. Eaton’s en-GB datasheet separates IEC models, which use C13, from BS models with a different suffix. B0CCNXHBHG is the 5E900UI. The I is the IEC version. The BS counterpart 5E900UB is not the ASIN in this comparison. If you landed on a 4.5 from 125 reviews, you landed on the IEC model, and those reviews are not United Kingdom text. Eaton’s GB page for the 5E900UI lists two IEC-to-IEC output cables and does not name a mains lead. Buying the 5E900UI because you wanted the 5E900UB will not grow BS sockets onto the back. Which of these we would buy is on best Eaton UPS.

If the lead is wrong

Regulation 35 of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 requires a correctly fitted BS 1363 plug, or a non-UK plug together with a conversion plug and a BS 1362 fuse, when the kit is meant for a domestic UK socket. A Schuko, Type C, or Type B lead on its own fails that use. The fuse rating has to follow the equipment instructions. If the carton contains Schuko, Type C, or no lead at all, the practical choices are a return, or a proper conversion plug that includes the BS 1362 fuse. Do not tape a European plug into a UK socket. After the plug is sorted, a BS socket that is surge-only still goes dark in the cut.

Common questions

Is a BS input cord the same as BS sockets on the front?
No. A BS input cord, when it is actually in the box, lets the UPS plug into a UK wall socket. The outlets your PC uses can still be IEC C13. That is the 5S550IBS pattern: a BS cord claimed in the bullet, C13 outlets on the back, and a Type E/F attribute that disagrees. The wall plug and the device sockets are different parts.
What is 5E900UB, and is that the ASIN in this comparison?
5E900UB is the BS-socket part number in Eaton’s 5E naming, not the unit sold as B0CCNXHBHG. This comparison’s 900 VA 5E is the 5E900UI, the IEC model, with C13 outlets, at £118.57. UKCA on the datasheet does not convert UI into UB. If you need British outlets, the 5E900UI is the wrong part. The 3S700B is the title in this set that describes BS outlets.
What do you do if the lead is Schuko?
Treat it as the wrong lead for a UK domestic socket. Regulation 35 allows a correctly fitted BS 1363 plug, or a non-UK plug used with a conversion plug and a BS 1362 fuse. It does not allow a taped join. Use the fuse rating in the equipment instructions, or return the unit. On the 3S700B, Schuko is what Eaton’s input table says, while the amazon attribute says Type B.
Why does the 3S700B attribute say Type B?
The amazon technical table says Type B, a North American three-pin plug. The title says eight BS outlets. Eaton’s GB page says Input: UK and then lists a Schuko input. Three sources disagree, so the attribute is a warning to check the carton. Type B would be the wrong wall plug in the UK, just as Schuko would. The BS outlets do not prove what is on the input tail.
Does Northern Ireland change the BS 1363 point?
No. Homes in Northern Ireland use the same BS 1363 plug as the rest of the United Kingdom. A Schuko or Type C lead is still the wrong domestic lead there. Regulation 35 is the Great Britain wording of that duty. It does not create a different socket. The check stays the same: BS outlets only on the 3S700B title, IEC C13 everywhere else, and the input lead verified in the box.
