Worx PowerShare battery: bare tool or kit

Updated: October 2026

A Worx PowerShare battery is the missing half of a cheap bare drill. You can look at the WX370.9 at £47.50 and decide the kit at £76.94 is the dearer option, until a pack and a charger land on the same receipt. This page adds those lines up for the models in the [Worx drill comparison](/hub/drilling-and-accessories/worx-drill). Prices are as listed on 15 October 2026. The Products Compared editorial team did not time a runtime, and this page will not invent one. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

One pack, three voltage badges

These drills each take one PowerShare pack. The 20V badge on the tool is that single pack. uk.worx.com shows some 40V mower titles with two packs and an 80V mower title with four. Confirm that tool's manual before you assume every 40V machine wants two. 18V (20V MAX) is Worx's pair of labels for this platform, not a higher system than an 18V nominal pack, and not a DeWalt or Makita battery. Two packs or four packs are a garden-tool arrangement, not a second speed inside the WX370. A US line about 140-plus Worx products is not a UK catalogue count, so it is not used here.

What a 2.0 Ah pack costs

The WA3639 2.0 Ah pack is £31.99 on uk.worx.com. Screwfix lists it at £29.99 including VAT, and B&Q lists £29.99, sold by Positec (UK & Ireland) Limited, with a note that it works with Worx 20V, 40V, and 80V tools. Those prices were checked on 15 October 2026. The battery page states a 2-year warranty, plus one further year if you register within 30 days. A 4.0 Ah Pro pack is £63.99 and a 5.0 Ah Pro pack is £74.99. A compact charger is £24.99. The 0.4 Ah wording beside that charger is Worx's own label, not a charge-current figure. A pack with no charger still leaves the drill on the bench.

Bare tool or kit in this set

Four bodies have no battery in the box: the WX370.9 at £47.50, the WX352.9 at £83.99, the WX381.9 at £129.99, and the WX354.9 at £208.15. Add the £31.99 pack to the WX370.9 and you reach about £79.49 before a charger. The WX370.1 kit is £76.94 with two 2.0 Ah packs and a charger. If you own nothing, the kit is the lower bill. The WX352.9 plus a £31.99 pack is about £116 before a charger, against the WX352 kit at £110.98 with two packs, charger WA3880, and a case. The WX354.9 at £208.15 does not beat the WX354 kit at £145.99. The WX355.1 highlight includes one 2.0 Ah pack. The WX391 includes one. A bare tool is rational when a matching pack and charger already live on your other Worx tools. The Worx drill buying guide then goes back to the hole.

What will not fit

A DeWalt pack, a Makita pack, or another brand's battery does not fit these drills. A UK adapter seller notes that 4-pin and 6-pin PowerShare connectors both appear in the UK and do not interchange, so look at the pins before you pay. Third-party replacement cells are outside this comparison. On the WX381.9, reviewers say a high-capacity pack matters. That is a buyer report, not a measured runtime, which is why no minute figure is attached to the 4.0 Ah and 5.0 Ah prices. The named top pick and best value are on the best Worx drill page.

When the bare price is real

A bare Worx drill is cheaper only when the PowerShare pack and the charger are already on the shelf. If you still have to buy both, the WX370.1 kit undercuts the WX370.9 plus a WA3639 before the charger is even counted. One pack runs the drill. A mower may want two or four, and another brand's pack does not fit.

Common questions

Will one Worx drill battery run a Worx mower?
One PowerShare pack runs the drill. A mower may want more than one, stacked. uk.worx.com shows some 40V mower kits with two packs and an 80V mower with four. That is a kit title, not a promise that every garden tool is wired the same way. Read the mower's manual before you assume the drill's single 2.0 Ah pack will start it.
Is 18V the same pack as 20V Max?
On these listings, yes. 18V (20V MAX) is Worx's labelling for one platform, not two battery families. The drill takes a single pack either way. The phrase does not mean the pack is interchangeable with DeWalt, Makita, or a US system that only looks similar in a photo. Match the PowerShare name and the pins.
Is the WX370.9 at £47.50 cheaper than a kit once you buy a battery?
Not if you still need a charger. £47.50 plus a WA3639 at £31.99 is about £79.49, and the charger is still extra. The WX370.1 is £76.94 with two 2.0 Ah packs and a charger. Screwfix and B&Q listing the pack at £29.99 does not add the charger either. The bare price is a saving only when the pack and the charger are already on the shelf.
Can you use a DeWalt, Makita, or a US Worx pack?
Do not fit another brand's pack to these drills. PowerShare is the Worx platform, and a UK note on connectors says 4-pin and 6-pin versions both turn up here and do not fit each other. Look at the pins on the drill foot and on the pack. This page does not recommend a non-Worx replacement cell.
What does registration do for the battery warranty?
On the WA3639 page, Worx states a 2-year warranty plus one extra year if you register within 30 days. That is the battery page's line, not a drill-body promise, and trade use can be excluded on the tool listings that say so. Registering does not change the £31.99 price or make a bare drill into a kit.
