Bosch green vs blue combi drill

Updated: 22 October 2026

The green drill was on offer, the blue batteries were on the shelf, and the pack would not click. Bosch green vs blue combi drill is that mismatch: both say 18 V, and the batteries are not interchangeable. Green Home and Garden tools use POWER FOR ALL packs. Blue Professional tools use the Professional 18 V system, sold as AMPShare. The ten listings in the [Bosch cordless combi drill comparison](/hub/drilling-and-accessories/bosch-cordless-combi-drill) were mapped onto those systems on 20 October 2026. A pack was not forced into the wrong tool. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Two 18 V systems

Same voltage is not the same battery. A PBA pack and a GBA or ProCORE pack are coded differently. The POWER FOR ALL alliance says the DIY and Professional 18 V systems will not be unified, and that no adapter is offered. Bosch Professional’s AMPShare FAQ states that AMPShare tools do not run on POWER FOR ALL. Gardena’s UK desk, which shares the PBA form, says PBA packs and Bosch Professional packs are not compatible. This page does not describe a homemade adapter. Forcing a shoe can damage a pack and still leave a drill that will not start. A DeWalt or Makita pack is not a match for a GSB just because all three say 18 V. Check PBA against GBA before you compare 40 Nm with 110 Nm.

Which of these drills are green

Seven listings are green POWER FOR ALL tools: EasyImpact kits B09S3YK9KC (about £64.97), B0C1H4DNMN (about £75.23), B0FJY1X23L (about £76.50) and B09Q7VXX43 (about £83.64), plus UniversalImpact B08RP3J1QY at about £103.21, AdvancedImpact kit B0D3RFSHNZ at about £139.00, and bare AdvancedImpact B0CZXJJ9SV at about £92.99 with no pack. A bare green tool saves money only when PBA packs and a green charger are already yours. None of the seven runs on a GBA pack. Warranty lines differ: 1 year limited on the EasyImpact 18V-38, 2 year manufacturer on several 18V-40 listings and the UniversalImpact, and no warranty stated on the AdvancedImpact files. Staying green, the next choice is the buying guide.

Which of these drills are blue

Three listings are blue. The GSB 18V-65, B0DQV7T3GJ, is about £84.99 for the body and an L-BOXX, with no battery. The GSB 18V-110 C, B083QM7PLT, is about £149.99 in a cardboard box, and the item type name excludes batteries and a charger. The GSB 18V-25, B0FJSJTMDW, is about £149.99 with two GBA 4.0 Ah packs, a GAL 18V-40 and an L-Case. Its bullets name AMPShare. At least one buyer returned that kit because green batteries did not fit. If your packs are green, these three rows are a new set of batteries, not a Sunday torque upgrade. A body plus one Professional pack can pass the EasyImpact two-pack at about £75.23. After the colour is settled, the picks are on the best Bosch cordless combi drill page.

Chargers and cases are not shared either

An EasyImpact 18V-38 note names Professional chargers, including the AL 1820 CV Professional, that do not charge a PBA pack. Keep the AL 18V-20 or AL 1810 CV with the green packs, and the GAL 18V-40 with the GBA packs. A reviewer of the GSB 18V-25 says the L-Case sits on an L-BOXX and does not clip to it. The 18V-65 includes an L-BOXX. The 110 C includes cardboard. If you own green packs, leave the GSB listings. If you own blue packs, do not add an EasyImpact unless you will keep two chargers. Two half-systems cost more than one complete kit, which is what the returned GSB 18V-25 already shows.

Common questions

Do all Bosch 18 V batteries fit all Bosch 18 V drills?
No. Green POWER FOR ALL packs and blue Professional packs are different shoes on the same nominal voltage. PBA packs belong on Easy, Universal and Advanced. GBA packs belong on the three GSB listings. A pack that does not click is the system working as designed.
Can a green battery run a GSB?
No. Bosch Professional says AMPShare tools do not run on POWER FOR ALL, and a GSB 18V-25 buyer in this set returned the drill because green batteries did not fit. There is no official adapter. If your charged packs are green, choose Easy, Universal or Advanced.
Can a blue battery run an EasyImpact?
No. A GBA or ProCORE pack does not replace the PBA pack in an EasyImpact or AdvancedImpact. Gardena’s UK note says PBA packs are not compatible with Bosch Professional packs. If the van is already blue, stay on a GSB and price a Professional pack into any body-only listing.
Is there an official adapter?
The POWER FOR ALL alliance says no adapter is offered. This page does not treat a forum adapter as a solution. Buy the pack that matches the tool, or the tool that matches the pack.
Which listings in this set are green?
The four EasyImpact kits, the UniversalImpact 18, the AdvancedImpact kit and the AdvancedImpact body. Prices on these captures run from about £64.97 to about £139.00. Only the about £92.99 body omits the battery.
Which listings are blue and body only?
The GSB 18V-65 at about £84.99 and the GSB 18V-110 C at about £149.99 are bodies, with an L-BOXX and a cardboard box respectively, and no battery. The GSB 18V-25 at about £149.99 is blue too, but it is a kit with two 4.0 Ah GBA packs and a GAL 18V-40.
Will a Professional charger charge a PBA pack?
Not the Professional chargers named on the EasyImpact 18V-38 note, including the AL 1820 CV Professional. Keep the green charger with PBA packs. The GAL 18V-40 belongs with GBA packs. A light on the charger is not proof the shoe fits the drill.
